We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a Data Management Officer to join the Home Energy Scotland (HES) Data Team. You will assist the Home Energy Scotland team to deliver Scottish Government Programmes, by managing and reporting on the information exchange between the Energy Saving Trust and third party delivery partners.

The team

Our team in Energy Saving Trust manages the national Home Energy Scotland service on behalf of the Scottish Government. Joining our team means joining an award-winning advice service that supports hundreds of thousands of households across Scotland every year to make their homes warmer, more affordable, and sustainable.

The climate emergency and the current fuel price crisis means the work of Home Energy Scotland has never been more important. Our team is making a real difference to people’s lives, and we are also growing rapidly. We need to recruit more skilled and dedicated people to join our team now.

Our team collaborates widely with colleagues in Energy Saving Trust, staff across the Home Energy Scotland network and many other partners across Scotland. You will be working with people and organisations to help tackle fuel poverty and the climate emergency, both directly, and through a network of regional advice centres covering all of Scotland.

What you’ll do

Working in support of the successful management of HES advice centre network, you will be primarily responsible for the collation, management of and reporting on external stakeholder-supplied data.  You will also assist with wider HES reporting activities and provide direct support to other Energy Saving Trust staff on HES related issues as required.

What you’ll bring

You will have good data manipulation skills using varying tools and formats, including experience with SQL and Excel.  Full training will be given.  So, if you like a Power Pivot and know your inner join from an outer, get in touch.

Role: Programme Officer

Reporting to: Programmes and Partner Manager

Contract Type: Full time, permanent (part-time candidates will be considered, minimum 4 days per week) 

Number of days: 5 days a week (will consider flexible working hours).

Location: Hybrid, minimum 2-days per week in London office (applicants must already be eligible to work in the UK). Laptop provided for home working.

Salary: £29,000 (plus benefits) FTE (dependent on relevant skills and experience).

Annual leave: 25 days plus public holidays, with an additional 2 days for volunteer work.

Start Date: June 2024

Your Impact / Specific responsibilities will include the following:

• Manage grantee partner relationships, including building trust and openness, identifying capacity needs, administrating grants, monitoring progress and fulfilling reporting requirements.

• Provide administrative support across the Programmes Team with grant management e.g. preparing of grant paperwork, reviewing partner reports and checklists (proposals), monitoring pipelines.

• Undertake research in focal areas for the Programmes Team, such as identifying intervention points and opportunities to make a difference in conservation.

• Contribute to communication products, including donor reports and applications, to support Synchronicity Earth’s fundraising and philanthropic goals.

• Produce and contribute to board papers and discussions.

• Update and undertake due diligence.

• Managing and maintaining partner database, including data entry, preparing reports and basis analysis. 

• Contribute to the development of Synchronicity Earth’s processes and systems around partnermanagementand due diligence.

Skills and experience required

Essential

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in English, with excellent writing skills.
• A passion for ecology, endangered species and biodiversity, social justice or community engagement.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and adapt in a dynamic environment. 
• Demonstrate curiosity, humility, flexibility, and responsiveness. 
• A commitment to our core values, including equity and inclusivity in the conservation sector.

Desirable

• Experience (especially lived experience) in Asia, South America, Africa or the Pacific

• Some understanding of community- and rights-based approaches.

• Written and spoken Spanish and/or Portuguese. 

• Experience using databases and/or project management tools e.g. Salesforce, Asana, Tableau.

• Willingness to undertake occasional travel both within the UK and overseas.

• Desire to work across a range of conservation issues and to undertake a diverse role.

• Strong research and analytical skills

This Key Relationships Coordinator role is your chance to expand on your administrative, organisational and customer skills – improving the ability of our systems and data to support the fundraising we depend on.

Greenpeace UK is an independent national/regional organisation within the global Greenpeace campaigning network, which acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace. The global network of Greenpeace organisations comprises 26 independent national/regional Greenpeace organisations with presence in over 55 countries across Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, as well as a coordinating and supporting organisation, Greenpeace International.

As our Key Relationships Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and refining administrative systems for the Key Relationships fundraising team. It’s a fast-paced role that involves managing your own time well and communicating effectively with all members of a busy and dynamic team.

Processing donations, you’ll monitor various databases and sources for new donors and gifts, work with relevant fundraisers on communications and handle Key Relationships incoming post. You’ll also coordinate with the Data, Insight, IT and Finance teams and manage further development of our supporter database – leading on data checking, creating and exporting datasets for reporting, and producing accurate and timely data selections to support communications and fundraising objectives.

Location: Islington, London. Our hybrid working model enables us to enjoy the benefits of both office based and remote working. We ask that staff work from the office in Islington 40% of their time, with 20% required as a minimum.
