Senior Communications Officer

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Senior Communications Officer to join their Strategic Partnerships and Communications team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution.   

As a Senior Communications Officer with Clean Air Fund you would help to support the Clean Air Fund’s communications and engagement with our key audiences of governments, funders, businesses, researchers, civil society organisations and campaigners. You will help proactively shape and deliver Clean Air Fund’s strategic communications activities to tackle global air pollution. You will lead our social media strategy and management to grow our digital audiences and foster deeper engagement. From delivering compelling content to executing digital campaigns to coordinating events, you’ll play a critical role in raising our profile and 
supporting the clean air movement. Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day delivery of compelling communications and developing our digital channels. You will also support our wider campaigns across all our channels including earned and paid activities.

To be successful in this role you will have 

•  Proven experience in a wide-ranging communications role in a similar sector.
•  Significant experience managing social media channels, and developing and delivering social media strategy.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing multichannel communications campaigns and plans.
• Experience managing projects and running events.
•  Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Experience creating and optimising a range of impactful content, from blogs and webpages to graphics and social assets.
• Excellent editorial and creative judgement.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with a variety of people at different levels, and to adapt style and approach appropriately.

As one of the main points of contact for our Working Group Chairs, group members, politicians and Welsh Government officials, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively with a range of different people and be well-organised with a demonstrable enthusiasm for the work of environmental organisations.

We’re looking for a Fundraising Officer to develop and foster a legacy pipeline increasing our donations from Trusts and Foundations to help achieve our vision of a wilder Derbyshire.

In this role, you will lead legacy income by initiating, managing and developing a comprehensive programme of cultivation and stewardship activities for legacy pledgers. You’ll develop and implement a programme to meet our income targets from Trusts and Foundations, writing compelling fundraising bids that tell our story.

Join Trees for Life’s Nature Restoration Team to provide vital support in guiding and evidencing our work to restore nature at landscape scale.  We are looking to this role to identify the best opportunities for natural regeneration of peatland and native woodland through ecological survey in the field.  You will be a key source of advice and support across all the Trees for Life programme, including at Dundreggan, Affric Highlands and habitats projects focused Highlands-wide.  This will be a rewarding, impact-focused role for someone with good botanical identification skills, an understanding of Highlands ecology and an enthusiasm for exploring places with real potential for rewilding.

E3G funding comes from a wide variety of funders around the world. We are looking for a CCAB qualified finance person with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a charity or not-for-profit programme finance context. The role will work with the Chief Financial Officer and Programme Leads to manage our financial relationships with these funders and the end-to-end finance activities across our funders and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing monthly internal project reporting to project leads.

- Create engagement opportunities for your team at the events and activities of other organisations and local groups by networking and working with the Communications and Marketing person to promote our services.

You will join a fast-growing organisation that started in 2019 with four volunteers and has grown to a staff team of thirteen (which will double over 2024), over 1,000 volunteers and ownership of 170 acres (soon to be 600 acres) of land that will grow woodlands of over 160,000 trees.

The project
Landscape Recovery is one of Defra’s three environmental land management schemes. Avon Needs Trees has been awarded development phase funding for Landscape Recovery in the Lower Chew. This is a unique opportunity to help co-design nature’s recovery and social impact at a landscape scale. The project will engage existing landowners and managers across over 867 hectares of land in the Lower Chew, an area where good quality but fragmented woodland provides a basis for woodland connectivity and large-scale woodland creation, as part of a mosaic of grassland and woodland habitat. This locally-cherished landscape of rolling farmland on the edge of Bristol is the strategic setting for delivering local environmental and social priorities. 

Main responsibilities
● Leading on stakeholder engagement for the landscape recovery project, including:
      ○ Designing and delivering engagement workshops
      ○ Gathering and baselining landowner data and existing farm practices
      ○ Ongoing landowner engagement
      ○ Collating and incorporating landowner feedback
      ○ Homeowner liaison with those living within or adjacent to the project site
    ○ Outreach, engagement and events, working alongside our Outreach and Communications staff
● Helping to write plans for ecological and social impact that will be delivered over the next 20-25 years

● Leading on a 20-25 year monitoring and evaluation plan for the Lower Chew Landscape Recovery project, whilst contributing to other plans, including:
      ○ Assessing and identifying learning opportunities

      ○ Identifying future monitoring requirements
      ○ Packaging and disseminating learnings

I am excited to be working with a fantastic conservation charity in search of a Finance Assistant for around two months. This is a part-time (2 days a week), London based role for two months. As Finance Assistant your role will be to assist the team with processing grants payments, invoicing and reconciliations.

Main duties:

• Processing grant payments via online banking in line with authorisation limits.

• Inputting and updating all incoming and outgoing transactions on QuickBooks.

• Saving payment confirmations on the server and on Quickbooks.

• Electronic filing of accounts and finance invoices, receipts, credits.

• Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations. 

• Administrative support for audit.

• Administration of company credit cards. 

• Ad hoc administration duties to support charity and CEO.

Experience Required

• MS Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks.

A prestigious London Local Authority with a large regional jurisdiction over both the City of London and the county of Greater London is looking for a number of 12-month front of house and administrative staff to join a busy and expanding team based in Stanford-Le-Hope/Tilbury/Corringham area.

Your new role

To provide clerical and administrative support to the staff in a busy and expanding office. To work as one of the team of Support Assistants within the Service, in the provision of an effective, efficient and responsive service.Hours: 37 hours per week within the hours of 6am - 10pm on a shift basis

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out reception duties and act as 'first point of contact' for visitors to the office.
• Sorting, date stamping, scanning all documents received and distributing post and documents received into the office and verifying delivery of documents, parcels and other goods in accordance with office procedures.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to the field staff, as required.
• Arrange the collection of all samples on a daily basis that need to go to the labs, preparing for collection and liaising with the couriers.
• Use office equipment, including the postage franking machine, facsimile machine, scanner, photocopier and computer system to carry out the duties of the post.
• Answer all incoming calls and respond to telephone queries from a wide range of sources regarding the current status of imported food cargo and charging procedures, including passing calls on to the relevant staff.
• Under the direction of the Officers, or Technical Officers, carry out documentary checking with regard to consignments of imported food (not of animal origin), and maintain all necessary electronic and paper-based records.
• Input data into internal and external database systems and carry out general internal database maintenance, e.g. modifying tables, queries and reports.
• Maintain and update electronic and paper-based filing and record systems, including the equipment inventory. Assist with the archiving of items, and deal with confidential documents appropriately.
• Under the direction of Official Veterinarians or Officers, record Products of Animal Origin and other imported food consignments on the computerised cargo handling system and port manifesting systems.
• Under the direction of Official Veterinarians or Officers, they undertake the initial documentary check for third country consignments of products of animal origin in accordance with ISO procedures and ensure that documents for charging purposes are sent to the Finance Section on a daily basis.

• Live in the Corringham/Tilbury/Stanford-Le-Hope area
• Have your own transportation and driving licence
• Be proficient with MS Office, and
• Immediately available to work in May 2024
