If you would like to use your abilities to raise funds for charities, Chell Perkins Ltd's Grant Fundraiser Traineeship will teach you everything you need to know and you’ll get the chance to join our team of trained consultants.
Chell Perkins Ltd are looking for FOUR people who are passionate about bringing positive change through fundraising. We want to nurture a new generation of fundraisers to provide charities with access to exceptional fundraising support.
We offer a four-month/16-week fully paid traineeship (approx £1,700pm gross) working with real clients in a fundraising consultancy and gaining a recognised certificate with education credits towards CFRE to give you a real headstart in working in the charity sector. There are a number of vacancies at Chell Perkins, and at the end of the course trainees will be eligible to apply for a permanent position.
This immersive programme starts on 2nd September 2024 and is home-based, with high-quality training and plenty of support from our experienced fundraising team.

Client mix

Purpose of the job:
This role is responsible for supporting the Director of Foundations, Organisations and Institutions to maximise income from foundations and organisations and institutions. The post-holder will develop a robust pipeline of funding through organisations based in the UK and internationally.
Skills and experiance required:
● Minimum five (5) years of professional experience successfully delivering high value, multi-year funding from the UK and internationally
● Extensive experience of donor prospecting and pipeline management
● A strong background in foundation, organisation and institutional bid writing, application processes, reporting and stewarding with successful 5 and 6 figure outcomes

This new role as Senior Business Operations Officer will play a key part in the day-to-day operation of finance and resource management, procurement, professional services HR, faculty estates and space, health and safety, and other defined project management. Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, the post-holder will be a member of the Faculty’s Business Support Team who will support and coordinate delivery of business operations in accordance with the College’s and the Faculty’s priorities, timeline and policies. The role will also provide a high level of customer support in collaboration with key stakeholders in the Faculty and central service teams.
The post-holder is expected to be well-versed in the systems and processes underpinning business operations, and has a positive and systematic approach to work, with strong communication and numeracy skills. We are looking for an experienced CEO or senior charity manager, able to manage the business functions of a charity that is just starting out. You will have a proven track record of managing a small, prosocial organisation and setting up the systems necessary for success. You will have skills to work strategically, have business management skills, be able to lead and grow a team and work relationally.
As CEO an important goal will be to put the charity on a firm foundation for long-term sustainability. You will work with our fundraising consultant to ensure a steady income stream of core funding, ensuring financial stability for employees and building partnerships with local organisations to maximise impact and sustainability through collaborative work and partnership bids. This requires considerable, skilled networking and relationship-building, both within the Church’s Community Hub, with our existing partner VCFSE organisations and in the wider sector, including local Councils, PCNs and the ICB.
You will also be principally responsible for the organisation’s HR function, risk and compliance, as well as its monitoring and evaluation of impact (for quality assurance and fundraising purposes). This means ensuring best practice is observed and maintained in these and related areas, including line management, service policy, financial management, safeguarding and data privacy.
Knowledge and/or lived experience of mental health difficulties and the relevant support services/treatment modalities is essential; experience working within the mental health sector is highly desirable. As the Charity continues to grow we need to increase the number of Suicide Bereavement Specialists who provide the Charity's post-vention offering at our Plymouth office.
Job Summary
The role of the Suicide Bereavement Specialist is to provide a proactive and timely community-based support to individuals, families, groups and/or communities who have experienced a suicide loss.
The hours for this role are flexible, with 22.5 hours/week being the minimum.
*Please note: Ability to travel is an essential part of this role.
Main duties
Support
Offer a sensitive, compassionate and needs-led service to individuals, families, groups or communities affected or bereaved by suicide.
Offer rapid response (within 48 hours), information and support to individuals, families, groups or communities who have been bereaved by suicide, in their home or other agreed settings, and follow with ongoing practical and emotional support; mainly through non-clinical interventions that promote coping and resilience so our beneficiaries can face and overcome their traumatic bereavement.
Exercise good judgement in assessing each case and establishing the most appropriate steps for ongoing support, signposting or onward referral.
Co-ordinate where necessary, a safeguarding response in line with local practices and services to ensure that an individual is safe and has an organised package of care to ensure they survive their crisis in the most helpful manner for them.
Produce an area-specific suicide bereavement resources pack to include all relevant information on support services and processes following a suicide death.
Develop strong relationships with key agencies and first responders in the area to establish ways to connect bereaved individuals in a timely and helpful manner (e.g. police, emergency services, clergy, child services, coroners, funeral directors).
Contribute to critical incident responses where appropriate and take an active role where possible.
Assist with the early identification of potential suicide connected deaths and liaise with the Pete’s Dragons suicide surveillance team and appropriate stakeholders and relevant agencies, to ensure timely and appropriate coordinated responses.
Undertake collaborative multidisciplinary work to uphold safety and support for the communities of need (e.g. working with school staff, mental health staff, peers, or family members) to ensure they are contained by well-informed communities.
Administration
Work internally with the Senior Management Team, suicide bereavement colleagues, placement counsellors and therapists and in conjunction with external agencies to ensure parity of service across the whole of the County of Devon.
Maintain timely administrative updates on the Pete’s Dragons’ case management system.
Maintain an effective and efficient diary of appointments.
Participate in the implementation and promotion of the Devon Suicide Prevention Implementation Plan and understand how the role of both the Suicide Bereavement Specialist and Pete’s Dragons fits within it.
Contribute to training/awareness raising in suicide bereavement.
Gather and report on all qualitative and quantitative data required in relation to monthly activities and casework.
Adhere to all Pete’s Dragons’ policies and procedures and ensure security and confidentiality of all related data.

The Charity
The Youth Adventure Trust is a youth development charity working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 16 years old from Wiltshire and Swindon. Our outdoor activity based YAT Adventure Programme enables young people to challenge themselves, experience success, learn to go beyond their own expectations and grow in confidence. Through a series of residential camps and day activities they are able to build resilience, self esteem and develop social and life skills. The YAT Resilience Programme works to the same outcomes through a year long programme of monthly activities, home-based challenges and reflective practice. The Trust’s Bursary Programme is open to all those young people who have completed an initial programme, in order to assist their next steps into further activities. The Role
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and motivated Adventure Programme Support Manager to support both young people and volunteers on our Adventure Programme. Working alongside the Programme Managers you will act in a support function across the activity days and camps, and be involved in direct one to one support for young people. You will also work alongside the Volunteering Lead to recruit, manage and support the volunteers who are front and centre of ensuring our young people’s positive experiences and outcomes. Job Purpose
This role sits within our Adult Services, across Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing, Hounslow. You will be responsible for the operational delivery and service development, of a portfolio of services. Namely (but subject to change):

One large service you will be responsible for is our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is a tri-borough out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00(midday) – 11:30pm across all of our boroughs. You will be responsible for managing peripatetic teams: we currently have 3 in person Safe Spaces and based in 3 A&E.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.

The Role
The role of the Crisis Alternative Service Manager will provide operational management, mobilisation and service development of all Crisis Services within Adult Services. The ideal candidate will have experience of mobilising and developing high quality, large services. In addition to managing and supporting staff working within challenging environments and experience of working with challenging behaviour and complex needs. The Service Manager will hold all operational risk.
Excellent organisation and decision-making skills are essential for this role, as it requires being able to manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and work unsupervised during evenings and weekends. You will also be required to be rostered into the on-call rota.
The Crisis Alternative Service Manager will be required to work collaboratively with the Director of Adult Services and will be proficient at communicating effectively with staff at all levels, a wide range of key stakeholders and service users. We’re looking for a supportive Regional Centre Manager who can enable our passionate and committed Birmingham team to deliver an excellent service for our client gardeners.
Proactive business development skills are needed to identify new partnerships and expand our program delivery to ensure the continued sustainability of the centre.

Our Regional Centre Manager in Birmingham will be based in our Birmingham Kings Heath office, Option for hybrid role with up to 2days Remote/Home working per week.
