With more than 800 members, we work to improve services and campaign for policy change that will help end homelessness and ensure that everyone has a place to call home and the support they need to keep it.
As a learning and development specialist, working as part of our Member Services Team, you will be responsible for leading the growth, advancement and sales of our learning and development offer. This includes specialist training and coaching services that we run commercially to help staff working in homelessness to focus on their personal development or unlock change. Through these services we want to help create a high performing homelessness workforce who have the skills, knowledge and behaviours to provide professional and consistent support to people experiencing homelessness.
The successful candidate will have experience of developing and implementing learning strategies and programmes along with project development & management skills. A knowledge of homelessness or supported housing sector is desirable but not essential.

We provide counselling to more than 400 children and young people every year, and support many more families and professionals through our uplifting weekend activities, and education programmes. Researching and adivising on how we best engage with our audiences such as our volunteers, families and other charities through different channels and approaches.

Developing our social media content with the team, thinking about how young people use it and producing metrics on this. Work with our young people, volunteers and others to create fantastic video content to show our impact.
Leading campaigns for Mosaic, driving impactful communication and building partnerships with the media and other organisations across Dorset to support our mission.
Be part of the team effort to create an overall five-year strategy for Mosaic as we grow, thinking about how we demonstrate our impact and the great relationship we have with schools and charity bodies across the county.
Create press releases and moments where we can tell everyone about the work we're doing, and supporting national campaigns on child bereavement.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience of working in communications, preferably with some marketing experience.
A good track record of utilising a data-driven and goal-oriented approach to produce effective awareness campaigns
Experience of working with different platforms, including Meta and TikTok.
Experience in analysing group to create tailored user-journeys
An understanding of media and confidence to engage with them at a local and regional level

About the opportunity
Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships.
We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the line-management and development of three Fundraising Coordinators, through which you and your team will prepare and submit grant applications and funding reports, alongside overseeing the development and growth of our individual giving activities and initiatives, including through expansion of our fundraising events and campaigns.

Duties and responsibilities
· Work with the CEO, Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships Manager to ensure Action Tutoring’s fundraising targets are met and manage an effective pipeline across Action Tutoring’s different income streams.

Manage the Fundraising Coordinator to ensure places are secured, participants are supported and engagement is expanded.
· Work with Fundraising Coordinator for Campaigns, Events and Individual Giving to build Action Tutoring’s income generated from individual giving, developing campaigns for driving more regular giving and building our strategies to cultivate, engage and thank individuals.
· Act as a system manager for fundraising platforms, databases and tools including Just Giving and the Giving Block, with support from Fundraising Coordinators.
· Oversee the development of the fundraising area of the website and fundraising pack to attract new funders and fundraisers to the charity, with support from the Fundraising Coordinators.
· Manage the Fundraising Coordinators, ensuring they are growing and developing, and that work load is shared fairly.
· Represent Action Tutoring at relevant meetings and events.
· Alongside your team, prepare applications for corporate funding opportunities identified by the Corporate Partnerships Team.

Person specification
This role requires an ambitious, passionate and determined individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Alongside your team you will be responsible for writing and submitting grant applications and reports, so an excellent understanding of the English language and a keen eye for detail are crucial for success within this position. Working to deadlines and line-managing three Fundraising Coordinators, exceptional time-management, prioritisation and organisation skills are essential. With a focus on developing our individual giving strategies, we’re looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
Qualifications criteria:

Role Requirements

About the role
Our Surrey Volunteer Recruitment Manager (VRM) works closely with VRMs in Herts and London and our marketing team to promote the MCR programme to organisations and individuals. The purpose is to recruit committed volunteers who will mentor a young person in their school for one hour a week during term time. We are looking for a Legacy Marketing Manager to join our Fundraising team.
Title: Legacy Marketing Manager
Salary: £40,000 to £43,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent (full-time)

Key responsibilities
These include but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage our legacy fundraising, setting and achieving agreed targets to help us to grow our long-term legacy income.
- Plan, develop and implement high impact, audience-centric legacy marketing campaigns to attract new legacy pledgers, considerers and enquirers. This includes activity across a range of channels from social media, digital, telemarketing, direct mail and events.
- Develop and implement compelling supporter journeys to effectively steward potential legators.
- Ensure that all legacy marketing campaigns are managed efficiently and effectively.
- Track, report and benchmark results to inform decision making for future activity.
- Overall management of our annual legacy income; management of our legacy administration, including overseeing the external legacy admin support.
- Build and maintain sustainable, constructive relationships with colleagues and key external suppliers. Provide internal resources for learning about legacies, to aid awareness.
- Collaborate to ensure integrated planning for legacy marketing with the wider teams: Individual Giving, other fundraising teams, the register team, marketing and content along with other colleagues to identify sustainable ways to deliver our Fundraising strategy.
Essential attributes:
- Experience of creating and managing large scale, multi-channel, audience-centric and insight-led response-driving fundraising or marketing campaigns
- Demonstrable track record of achieving legacy fundraising success through integrated communications to individual supporters, with experience of effective supporter stewardship to drive loyalty
- A track record of developing and meeting targets within budget
- A working understanding of legacies and the legacy administration process and experience of working with solicitors and online will writing partners.
- Experience of producing financial analysis to improve lifetime value, including detailed income and expenditure budgets and reforecasts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and project management skills
- Confident use of Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, Excel and First Class.

Your role will be to further develop and deliver a range of events and initiatives that the Harlequins Foundation offers to its supporters to help us to raise the funds we need to deliver our programmes. As the charitable arm of the Club, we deliver a variety of programmes aimed at achieving improved outcomes for education and employability, wellbeing and inclusion. The role will play a key part in delivering high-profile fundraising events while building the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and supporter types, being instrumental in delivering campaigns and events to engage new audiences with the Foundation’s purpose.
As a proactive and enthusiastic person, you'll need to be adept at managing multiple projects and events concurrently. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and within a small Fundraising team, the successful applicant will be responsible for delivering events from Harlequins matchday activations to Foundation fundraising events.
You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club’s network of supporters, suppliers and delivery partners and manage a portfolio of events and activities for a range of supporter groups.
The successful candidate will be experienced in planning and delivering a variety of events, ideally within the charity sector with a focus on fundraising. - Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
