A particular focus will be State Pensions, Social Security Benefits and the UK labour market for older people.
As a Policy Manager you will analyse public policy to make recommendations to central government, regulators and professional bodies whilst collaborating with our wider influencing teams to ensure we help older people become more financially secure in future.
This exciting opportunity would suit someone with a good understanding of the policy making system and strong proficiency in verbal and written communication.
This position offers hybrid working between home and our central London office. Currently our Policy team attend the office weekly on Wednesday's.

Additional Information
The job is flexible, although the post holder will be expected to come to the London office at least once a week, usually on a Wednesday, and have the flexibility to attend key meetings and events in London at other times (and occasionally travel in the UK).

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities
This is an excellent opportunity to take on an exciting role within the Humanitarian Team of the Programme & Policy Department/Programme Management Team.
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of anticipatory action and disaster risk financing, including the development, monitoring and management of risk triggers, crisis modifiers and related fund management tools. A good grasp of programme and financial management combined with an ability to provide distance support to Country Offices and partners.
The Senior Programme Manager – Anticipatory Action (AA) will have significant input and provide technical leadership on the development of a new Early Action Fund, piloted with a select group of CARE country offices. She/he is responsible for the overall management for projects supported by the Fund as well as DRF projects with the Start Network (Start Ready) across the programme management lifecycle from the contracting stage to close out. The portfolio might include other humanitarian projects dependent on pipeline and workload. The SPM-AA leads the relationship with donors, working with country offices and technical teams to ensure programmes are delivered in line with CARE International strategies and procedures, and in compliance with donor requirements. Specific areas of responsibilities include programme quality, accountability, relationship management, impact reporting and knowledge management, compliance and risk management. In addition, he/she will be an effective team member and committed to tackling discrimination and structural inequality and promoting CARE International’s Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection policy with team members and in day-to-day practice.

About the role
As a Digital Learning Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing technology-based learning solutions and resources that enable the successful delivery of specialist training courses across the Save the Children movement and the wider humanitarian sector. Working collaboratively with colleagues from across the team and partners, you will also advise on digital delivery, curriculum design, emerging technology, methodologies and research in this area.
In this role, you will:
- Provide specialist digital learning expertise to support the design and development of quality online courses, blended learning programmes and other resources for the HLA and partners.
- Coordinate and support projects with Learning Solution Specialists and Regional teams and outside subject matter experts to define requirements, learning objectives, scope and delivery mechanisms.
- Design technical solutions that focus on end users' needs and complete project documentation.
- Develop digital learning solutions using a range of software tools.

About you
The ideal candidate will be a specialist in instructional design, with demonstratable experience of creating storyboards and developing copy for digital content that tells stories, communicates complex ideas and engages learners. A creative and innovative individual with strong analytical and technical abilities and experience of manging digital projects.
It is important that you have:
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools to develop engaging learning and experiences (Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, Elucidat, Gomo, Evolve, Adapt).
- Working knowledge of developing courses for Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), ideally Moodle and/or Totora.
- Understanding of industry standards for digital learning resources (SCORM, AICC, LTI and xAPI) and experience of quality assuring and publishing resources onto LMS and other platforms.
- Experience of developing multilingual learning resources and localising content for specific regions.
- Experience of the use of standard industry tools (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign) to produce professional graphics and documents.
- Experience of designing and creating other micro-learning digital resources, for example animations, games, micro-sites, virtual and immersive content.
- Experience of video and audio editing using standard industry tools (Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, Camtasia).
- Experience of the use of various webinar (Blackboard Collaborate, Zoom) and blended learning tools (Nearpod, Padlet, Mentimeter, Miro) to help support the remote delivery of technical training.

Purpose
We are seeking an organisation and/or two individuals to deliver clinical supervision to Redthread youth workers and managers (in separate clinical groups) who are based in London and Birmingham in the context of trauma-informed practice so that they can undertake their roles safely and effectively.
About Redthread
Redthread is a multi award-winning charity with over 20 years experience of delivering pioneering youth work in hospitals and other health settings. We work across hospitals in London and Birmingham with 11-25 year olds who are affected by grooming, sexual and criminal exploitation, violence, emotional and physical harm, mental health issues, domestic violence and modern slavery. We also support children and young people in the online space to reduce the impacts of violence, and with those experiencing a range of health conditions, who are vulnerable and in need.
Our model is pioneering, and we train NHS staff so they are able to identify and better support children and young people affected by violence in health settings. We amplify the voices of children and young people and use our evidence and insights from working with them to adapt and innovate our work, support service improvement, and influence regional and national government.
About our team
We are a diverse organisation and it is critical that our staff have access to the right clinical supervisor to feel safe, reflect on their practice, and manage any work-related vicarious trauma.
1 Our team includes Youth Workers and Senior Youth Workers (20), Young Women’s Workers (3), Team Leaders (7), Managers and a VAWG Lead (5), and our Head Office staff. You will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to our hospital based staff and managers and may need to (on an ad hoc basis) support Head Office staff as and when required/upon request.
The Redthread model of Clinical Supervision
● Redthread acknowledges that its practitioners regularly encounter exposure to trauma/distress in their work with young people which has the potential for an increased risk of them experiencing compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.
● The Redthread model of supervision acknowledges the emotional impact of our work on our practitioners/managers and provides time and tools to process feelings, build resilience, and practice self-care.
● Redthread supervision is trauma-informed and acts as reflective practice.
● Redthread provides fortnightly face-to-face group supervision and, upon request, 121 clinical supervision (either face to face or online) that takes place in a safe and consistent location and that enables a pause in practice.
● Clinical supervision is non-managerial support and is not case management.
Deliverables
● Create a safe space where open and transparent conversations can take place.
● Bring a supportive challenge to practitioners to enable them to think differently about their work and consider alternative perspectives.
● Be empathetic and consistent.
● Facilitate growth in practitioners and development of their practice.
● To provide 121 clinical supervision to staff (upon request).
● To provide fortnightly group clinical supervision to staff for up to 90 mins.
● Bi-monthly workshops on trending topics/themes.

● To critically review if Redthread is embedding a Trauma Informed response within the organisation.
● Ad-hoc debrief and support to teams between supervision.
● Provide an immediate report of any significant wellbeing or safeguarding concerns for team members or young people to Redthread.
● Hold a bi-monthly catch up meeting with the Director to ensure lines of communication are open and dialogue is constant.
● Provide reasonable notice of any occasions when they will not be available on their regular day due to annual leave, other commitments, excluding emergencies.
● Report any concerns regarding Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Data Protection and Equal Opportunities to the Director.
● Maintain registration and accreditation with the appropriate professional regulator (British Psychological Society, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
● Confirmation of appropriate professional insurance for the role (copy of insurance policy to be provided)
● Maintain independent clinical supervision arrangements external to Redthread.

About the role
Your role as a Senior Service Designer will involve designing end-to-end journeys of a service or product as well as the processes and steps to make that journey work. As an experienced designer with the ability to influence and mentor others, you will work with the team to complete their goals and to help Shelter deliver our strategy.
The role involves working not only with the team, but across the organisation to listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and communicating effectively with diverse senior stakeholders. In the past five years of running our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program, we have found that the best predictor of which incubated charities will end up causing the highest impact is the quality of the co-founding team. As we scale up, one of our biggest bottlenecks is identifying highly talented, value-aligned people out of the thousands of candidates from all over the world who apply to our programs. The difference in outcomes between a bad and a good hire can be huge, but this variation is even more extreme when it comes to co-founders. The initial staff of an organization set the pace, tone, and culture for the long-term. We estimate the impact of each average alumna/alumnus of our Charity Entrepreneurship Incubation Program to be equivalent to donating $200,000-350,000 USD / year to effective charities. Finding 20-30 of these gems each year is difficult but is incredibly impactful. As such, the Recruitment role is one of the most important roles we are hiring for.
The Recruitment Manager (or Director’s) role is flexible, as reflected in this job description. It is likely to be either 100% on vetting applicants to our programs, 50% on vetting and 50% on outreach and marketing for new applicants, or 50% on vetting and 50% on team management. The level of seniority will depend on the successful candidate’s skills, fit, and interests. The Director would be responsible for managing team members and setting strategy for the department. About the team
We have been successfully running the first ever national Peer Support Service for kinship carers in England for over two years since January 2022. We have created 145 peer support groups and supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.
With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:
- creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;
- sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups, and;
- providing support and help to build a sustainable and welcoming community for all peer support groups across England.
About the role
The type of person we’re looking for:
This is a new a role and a new structure for the team. You will need to be a strong, boundaried manager and leader. You will understand the power of building relationship-focussed peer support groups and the importance of in person local community engagement and outreach.
The team you lead will focus on community outreach and relationship building to develop new groups and new support group leaders through to independence. By independence, we mean that the groups will function successfully without a staff member present.
We want groups to feel a sense of community and belonging through all support and services we offer at Kinship, so your team will be the local contact. They are expected to be out and about in communities.
Your team will need to build resilience through in person outreach, support, training and connection to ensure groups are able to function independently before moving to new ‘hub’ team who will provide centralised support and community building.
Your team will also reach out to existing groups (providing a face of the service and a relationship with it), ensuring they have the resources they need and support to sustain their group and then transition to the ‘hub’ team. This will include in person visits.
Purpose of the role:
The role of Programme Lead is to oversee and take accountability for the development and creation of new sustainable kinship peer support groups across England in priority areas as part of a new hub and spoke delivery model. In this context, your team is the ‘spoke’ of the service, delivering local outreach, online groups (where appropriate) and relationship building with kinship carers.
Managing a national team of seven staff (two direct line reports), you will provide firm leadership, ensuring targets and funder SLAs are met consistently and the service is delivered to a high quality.
