Main Purpose of the Role:

To be responsible for the implementation and day to day project management of the individual giving programme across both existing and new fundraising products, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, members, volunteers and internal teams across Mothers’ Union to ensure the success of the appeals. As part of a small team you will be working closely with and under the direction of the Head of Individual Giving.

Key Responsibilities:

• To project manage multiple appeals delivering accurate campaigns on time, on budget to a high standard, meeting agreed targets.
• Analyse and interpret direct marketing campaign results, and produce regular reports, drawing conclusions, completing campaign reviews and making recommendations to improve future activity such as targeting and testing suggestions to improve performance of the programme and feed into longer term strategic plans.
• Ensure all materials produced are accurate and compliant with relevant data protection and gift aid legislation (where applicable). Undertaking all activities in line with best practice standards and processes as set out by the IoF, Fundraising Regulator and any other bodies as prompted by the Head of Individual Giving.
• Write campaign briefs including campaign objectives, creative, digital, print and production briefs, feeding into decisions on creative approaches, copy and all technical aspects of the direct marketing programmes
• Write or amend existing copy and proof-read accurately. Critique, manage and evaluate work by external or internal agencies to a high standard and high level of accuracy
• Lead contact for our face to face fundraising activity, from briefing, monitoring and reconciliation to delivering training and fulfilling requests, including coordination of visits to Mother's Union projects
• Lead on any challenge events or wider individual DIY fundraising or organisational  income generating events as assigned, meeting agreed targets set by the Head of Individual Giving.
• Monitoring, managing and reporting of key KPIs including campaign income, spend and other performance metrics on a regular basis. Reporting to the Head of Individual Giving, highlighting variances and updating fundraising team reports making sure information is accurate and reconciled where necessary.
• Designing and delivering targeted training programmes for groups of fundraisers or members on behalf of Mothers’ Union as well as providing effective one-to-one campaign support as required.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our PCN3 Care Co-ordinator team. We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated people to take the role of Care Coordinator and join our fantastic PCN team. We will provide full training for the role. The Care Coordinator will be directed to undertake a key role in helping to drive improvements in health outcomes for patients through the delivery of early diagnosis and preventive work with a specific focus on improving the uptake of Health promotion & screening. The Care Coordinator role will support identified patients from all 7 practices across the PCN to navigate the NHS health care system and ensure that their care is coordinated.

Our PCN (PCN3) consists of 7 GP practices serving a diverse population of over 70,000 patients in and around Barnet. We enjoy excellent collaborative working relationships. Our practices are all high-achieving and innovative training practices, and our ethos is to develop our PCN with a focus on high quality, holistic patient care.  We are a strong PCN leadership team consisting of a Clinical Director & Head of Business Development & Transformation who are both aspirational and transformational. We require Care Coordinators who will complement the existing team through an enhanced passion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality patient services and to the wider agenda of team working.

We have a rich diversity of PCN staff who aim to provide a personalised care approach for our patients, including Administrative Ops Team, Pharmacists, Nursing Associate, First Contact Physiotherapists, Pharmacy Technicians, Care co-ordinators, Speciality Care Coordinator, Health and Wellbeing Coaches and Social Prescribers working alongside our GPs, nurses, and extended practice teams

JOB PURPOSE

The role will support the efficient administration and management of grant management processes, with a specific focus on the closeout of grants that have ended. This includes ensuring all relevant grant documentation is collected and filed, working with Finance team members on financial reconciliations of grants which have ended, and maintaining accurate records of grant closeout activities highlighting any risks to the Grants Manager. The role acts as a key liaison between stakeholders, providing clear communication and support to Grant Management and Finance staff, as well as liaising with Start Network members on the closure of sub-grants. Additionally, the Grant Admin Officer will highlight and document any gaps in the closeout process to improve processes where necessary. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with grantor requirements and preparing the organisation for future funding opportunities.

The Director of Finance & Governance is a key member of Helen Bamber Foundation’s Management Team and plays a pivotal role in designing and delivering the organisation’s strategy and approach. The role will lead the finance infrastructure of the organisation and prioritise enabling the organisation’s growth.  You will work in close collaboration with the CEO and other members of the Mangement Team to develop the capacity, capability and impetus of the organisation in achieving impact at scale through direct delivery, partnerships and systems change for survivors of torture and trafficking across the UK and globally.

Your priorities will include providing strategic leadership in developing and managing finance and leading on several governance systems and functions, as well as directly leading on specific strategic projects. You will contribute to the development and implementation of a strategy to secure the organisation’s  long-term financial health and growth, enabling us to deliver our vision and mission. Together with your Management Team colleagues, you will create an environment, culture, policies, processes and practices which ensure the Helen Bamber Foundation Group is an exemplary place to work.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Strategic leadership and management

Reporting to the CEO, and working closely with the Management Team and the Board, the Director of Finance & Governance will have responsibilities to:

• Work collaboratively with Management Team colleagues to provide operational leadership and development for the whole organisation, building our capacity and capability to deliver our strategy. 
• Work with the CEO to develop robust governance systems and infrastructure that will strengthen accountability, and support growth and deliver impact.
• Lead, manage and develop the Finance Team supported by the Senior Finance Manager.

• Conduct strategic financial planning to support the decision making of the Management team, Board sub-committees and the Board, and report to the Board as appropriate working with the Executive Team Assistant in this regard.

• Oversee and regularly review and update the organisational risk register, including financial and governance risks..
• Act as strategic lead on processes, systems development and internal controls.

Finance oversight and leadership

• Oversee all aspects of finance to enable effective day-to-day running of the Helen Bamber Foundation group and to support the continuous improvement of employee experience.
• Finalise annual financial statements/periodic financial reports (where required), and provide them to the CEO, Board and Board subcommittees for consideration and approval.
• Lead on the Helen Bamber Foundation Group audit process, working with the external auditors.
• Ensuring all statutory and non-statutory reporting requirements are met.
• Lead on budgeting and reforecasting across the organisation, supporting and challenging other teams to predict income and expenditure and make sound financial decisions, presenting to the Board and Board subcommittees.
• Support organisational planning by developing the systems to enable teams to model potential future work - e.g. costs of expansion of an existing programme or modelling potential new programmes and projects.
• Oversee the production of management accounting information, including internal monthly management accounts, quarterly reports for the Board, and financial reports for funders. Develop, maintain and monitor the financial systems of the organisation to ensure the accurate & timely production of these reports.
• Ensure compliance with agreements and contracts in relation to banks and external service providers.
• Monitor and report on the overall funding status, and ensure the timely reporting on grants is well supported.

• Support the preparation of applications for fundraising. Conduct financial analysis and review of existing and proposed strategic programmes, projects, and campaigns, contributing to decision making in this area.

• Oversee staff payroll, handling of petty cash and banking of donations, management of activity fees and credit control process.

Governance

• Work with the CEO and Executive Team Assistant to ensure that governance arrangements are fit-for-purpose, compliant and embody the spirit of partnership which defines the Helen Bamber Foundation Group.
• Support the Board and Board sub-committees, producing papers, and monitoring actions.
• Manage the organisational risk register including updating and monitoring of actions and Board discussions.
• Work with the Board to continue the development of outstanding governance policies and practices.
• Work with the CEO to develop and evolve the induction and training schedules for Trustees.
• Act in the capacity of Company Secretary.

Additional duties

• Act at all times as an ambassador for the Helen Bamber Foundation Group representing us at internal and external events.
• Perform any other task assigned by the CEO or Board.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 Experience

• A relevant professional qualification in accountancy (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA) or substantial relevant finance experience.
• Track record of achievement in a senior strategic-level financial management role.
• Demonstrable financial leadership and a thorough understanding of best practices in setting and managing budgets and oversight of day-to-day financial management.
• Experience of preparing financial statements, consolidated accounts and seeing through the audit process from start to finish, including dealing with external auditors.
• Proven track record of building, developing and managing teams.
• Demonstrable experience in working successfully as part of a senior leadership team.
• Experience of managing change and growth.
• Knowledge and experience of charity finance would be an advantage.
• Experience of operating at a senior level within a role which requires an organisation-wide, cross-functional perspective on issues, challenges and opportunities would be an advantage.

We are working in partnership with The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), the charity supporting communities of all backgrounds to enjoy being in, on and around water safely.

RLSS UK has a proud history of helping to reduce the number of lives lost to drowning through the commitment of and the fantastic work undertaken by their volunteers, staff, trustees, and members who advocate for and promote water safety in the communities they serve. The charity utilises their extensive, world-leading knowledge of water safety and training in developing a comprehensive range of vocational qualifications and a series of awards and education programmes, which all have the ultimate aim of preventing drowning and stopping unnecessary loss of life. Their portfolio includes the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) - the premier lifeguard training programme.

A Director of Finance and Operations is sought to lead on all financial aspects of the charity and two wholly owned companies, with additional responsibility and accountability for the leadership of the IT and Business Systems, HR and Compliance teams (4 direct reports). The director serves as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing strong and inspirational leadership to RLSS UK.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA), with 10+ years post-qualification experience, including at Finance Director level.
• Experience in preparing and presenting commercial reviews/business cases/proposals at Board level.
• Excellent knowledge of financial risk monitoring and management processes and mitigation strategies.
• Experience in negotiating, developing and managing commercial partnership agreements and monitoring the performance of major commercial suppliers and partners.

Charisma vetting interviews must be completed by lunchtime on Monday 30th June prior to shortlist submission by EOD. 

To manage social research work packages or projects within the Research and Analysis (R & A) team and contribute research skills to a range of CSE projects across all teams and work programmes. The role requires knowledge of social science research methods and research administration skills including time management, contributing to funding proposals and bid developments, and supporting outreach and impact work. Some knowledge of energy is required.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).
• The salary for the role will be £36,075 - £43,211 per year (starting salary will depend on skills and experience).
• You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

Delivery of projects and activities:

• Effectively manage work packages and small projects within the Research and Analysis portfolio.
• Oversee the timely delivery of data analysis outputs across multiple projects,.
• Explore innovative outputs to enhance the impact of the work and make best use of your own specialist skills, knowledge and experience in project design, delivery and dissemination.
• Have expertise in a particular research method or approach (e.g. qualitative analysis, survey analysis, statistics), and develop new approaches to advance CSE’s research.

Operation and development of the team:

• Participate in relevant meetings and processes to enable good internal communication and effective workload planning.
• Provide effective line management that supports staff in line with CSE policies.
• Mentor junior staff and support them to develop research or analytical skills and subject matter knowledge. Input to team development & strategy, supporting recruitment when appropriate.
• Explore new uses for datasets created by CSE that build our reputation and demonstrate CSE’s commitment to open access principles.

Income generation, partnerships, and generating opportunities:

• Lead method development for new research work and proactively seek new opportunities for funding and partnerships.
• Work with CSE’s development team to develop new research proposals aligned with CSE’s strategy and work programme priorities.
• Support the development of social research at CSE. Actively seek out and assign work to junior staff that matches their specialist skills and interests.

Communications and impact:

• Communicate outputs effectively to internal team members, CSE staff wide, and external stakeholders.
• Create impact & recognition of research outputs, liaise with CSE's Comms team about disseminating outputs to key audiences and author CSE website pages and blog posts where relevant.

Professional development:

• Continuously improve research and analytical skills and expand knowledge of research areas relevant to CSE’s work programmes
• Stay current with relevant trends in energy social sciences to help foster innovation within CSE’s work.

Essential attributes for this role include:

• Degree level qualification or equivalent in a relevant topic
• Relevant formal research methods training – as part of degree course or continuing professional development
• Experience in management/coordination of small-scale research or evaluation projects or significant work packages with demonstrable success in delivering work on budget and on time.
• Track record of delivering research, with evidence of conducting primary data collection and analysis, inputting to study design and managing diverse and complex project data
• Project management skills including excellent time management, organisation of self and others, budgeting and record-keeping, priority setting and problem-solving
• Advanced understanding of social research methods and associated software (e.g. SPSS, Nvivo, Excel)

The Oxford Housing First service aims to support hard to reach clients with complex needs; by sourcing independent tenancies and providing intensive support into long term accommodation. By adopting a flexible, creative and personalised approach, the service aims to support individuals to manage their tenancies in the community and rebuild their lives.

In the role of Housing First Worker, you will work 9-5 hours Monday Friday; working with a person centred approach to support clients in their own homes as well as in the community.

• You will be responsible for managing a small caseload of up to 7 clients' day to day, delivering ongoing and intensive support to help people set up their home, with the overall goal of supporting them to sustain their tenancy and achieve individual goals and aspirations. 
• You will develop the skills to build and maintain effective relationships with local partner agencies to support clients throughout their recovery.

The Direct Marketing Manager has operational and strategic responsibility in developing and implementing the Islamic Relief UK direct marketing programme. This includes the following key direct marketing channels: Email, SMS, Direct Mail, OOH and DRTV.
