This is a newly created role, fully remote where you are required to come to London four time a year. Working very closely with a forward-thinking CEO and being part of a newly established Senior Leadership Team (SLT), as the Head of Finance and People, you will be leading a team of Finance and HR professionals to ensure Advice UK's business plan and strategic priorities are achieved.
Salary: £64,000 - £68,000 per annum pro ratad to three days a week plus Regional Weighting (upto £4,454 in London)

Some of your key duties and responsibilities are;
- To ensure the continued development of our financial strategy supporting the achievement of Advice UK strategic objectives and rolling three-year business plan. As part of this lead the annual planning and budget process
- Be accountable for AdviceUK's finance, HR and compliance work, making key decisions that impact their direction and performance. Wherever possible, use data and evidence to inform your decision-making
- Oversee the preparation, analysis and distribution of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and financial forecasts
- Support SLT to contribute to the development of AdviceUK's financial planning, supporting them to take an organisation-wide view on where best to invest to support the achievement of strategic objectives
- Lead AdviceUK's compliance management, by working with staff leading specific compliance areas to ensure the charity meets all UK legal and regulatory requirement and undertakes all required, filing and reporting. As part of this work closely with the Data Protection Officer to ensure data protection and cyber security requirements are met and with the HR function to ensure health and safety requirements are met.
- Lead the SLT and key suppliers in developing a business continuity plan that ensures AdviceUK can continue to deliver its strategic objectives and support its members in times of business interruption. Once established ensure it is regularly reviewed and tested.
- Ensure the development and implementation of financial and people management policies and processes that support AdviceUK's work and culture
Candidates applying for this role must have the following:
- A recognised CCAB qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
- Very strong experience in Charity SORP
- Financial management of charities with commercial subsidiaries and consolidated accounts
- Strategic leadership of teams and working with CEO, Board and as part of a senior leadership team
- Experience of implementing financial controls, policies and procedures to ensure excellent service delivery
- Experience in financial planning and reporting.
- Experience of preparing financial business plans, modelling scenarios and carrying out sensitivity analysis and stress tests
- Experience of leading an HR function; supporting the effective development and implementation of HR strategy, systems & processes
- Managing and empowering a Finance team

Job Description
As a Senior Finance Business Partner you will provide pro-active professionally qualified support and guidance to budget holders for the financial management of the ROCU. Assist the Head of Enabling Services in the provision of a professional financial planning, management and accounting service, maintaining the integrity of NWROCU's financial records, and developing new systems and processes to comply with legislation, with a clear focus on ensuring best use of resources based on sound and demonstrable financial reasoning.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with budget holders and senior managers, ensuring that needs of the budget holder are fully satisfied, and SLA's adhered to.
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting upon the financial position of units to relevant stakeholders using appropriate means of communication and methods of financial analysis to ensure an effective and efficient budget management service is provided. - Review and monitor expenditure on supplies and services; and produce recommendations for improved efficiencies where appropriate for effective financial management of the NWROCU budget.

- Maintain the asset register and capital accounting records ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Provide technical input in the development of budget monitoring to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and to meet specific requirements of the NWROCU.
- Complete statutory returns and grant claims; prepare appropriate working papers to ensure the maintenance of financial accounts.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will:
- Be a Fully qualified CCAB Accountant.
- Have experience of working within a large and complex financial environment; with specific knowledge and experience of fulfilling a budget management role.
- Have advanced communication skills to deal effectively with a variety of potential stakeholders. This includes the ability to challenge devolved budget managers, and budget holders, present and disseminate financial information effectively to nonfinancial officers, and to present both verbal and written reports to Chief Officers and other stakeholders.
- Well-developed analytical skills, and the ability to pro-actively respond to financial issues as they arise.

The Director of Finance Business Partnering (Operations) is a critical role within the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance division that will lead, develop and deliver high quality finance business partnering and decision support to all the central services of the university, including providing financial planning, reporting and insight across revenue and capital funded activity.
You will support the senior Director of the Financial Strategy, Planning & Performance function in development and improvement projects. Examples include the development of a professional competencies framework to support career progression and performance at all levels, supported by learning and development opportunities, improving key processes, resource allocation and financial planning methodologies, and reporting on financial performance.
As part of the function’s senior management team, this role will lead a team of finance business partners who will provide outstanding partnering services to our central services including large functions such as Estates and Facilities, IT, Students & Education, Research Management and on other crucial ‘head office’ activities. Working closely with the corporate reporting team on the provision of management accounts, you will lead on financial performance support in-year and across our three-year financial planning framework. - Prepare budgets according to timelines in discussion with the team and Chief Financial Officer.
- Prepare monthly rolling forecasts of income and expenditure, working closely with other members of the Team,
- Undertake monthly reviews with budget holders to review income and direct costs and feedback to key stakeholders where necessary.
- Take an active role in aiding senior managers and team members understanding of their financial responsibilities.
- Working with the Financial Accounts Team, ensure complete and accurate transaction processing.

London's Air Ambulance treats patients who experience critical injury in the capital and support them and their families on a road to recovery. This is only possible through close collaboration between London's Air Ambulance Charity, the London Ambulance Service (LAS), Barts Health NHS Trust (Barts), London's Major Trauma Centres and the wider Major Trauma Networks, to deliver groundbreaking care and save lives.
To deliver this service the Charity is split across two locations, with offices in Mansell St and in the Royal London Hospital.
The Charity has grown significantly in size and complexity over the last few years and we are now seeking a Finance Business Partner to support the Deputy Director of Finance to provide the charity's Financial Performance and Analysis function.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance this post supports the provision of high quality financial reporting to assist budget holders, managers, directors and trustees. Acting as a finance business partner you will provide financial insights, analysis, and guidance to support decision-making and drive the financial performance of the charity.
Key areas of responsibilities;
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including finance and non-finance colleagues, to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Financial reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the charity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Own the full life cycle of reports from build to delivery.
- Budgeting and forecasting: Assist the Head of Financial Performance & Analysis in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to gather necessary information and oversee the consolidation and review of departmental budgets into a cohesive organisational budget.
- Financial analysis: Monitor actual performance against projections and conduct analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities.
- Systems accounting: Maintain and improve the charity's accounting systems and processes, ensuring data integrity and implementing new features or upgrades as required.
- CRM management: Work closely with the Head of Financial Accounting and Head of Data to ensure financial reporting requirements are adequately considered when managing the CRM.
- Advanced data analysis: Utilise tools such as PowerBl, Power Query, and advanced Excel functions to build reports, conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
Who are we looking for?
- A formally qualified or part qualified Accountant
- Relevant experience in a finance business partnering, financial planning, budgeting and analysis.
- An excellent communicator who is able to influence at all levels within the organisation
