We are seeking a Risk and Internal Audit Manager to lead our risk management and internal audit initiatives. About the role

As the Risk and Internal Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fortifying our organisation by overseeing both risk management and internal audit operations. You will develop and manage CARE International UK’s risk management framework, maintain and update the organisation’s risk register, and provide regular risk management reports. You will also develop and execute an annual internal audit plan, ensuring compliance with recognised auditing standards. Your role involves coordinating with various CARE entities and overseeing specialist audits in areas like cybersecurity and GDPR. International travel will be required to support CARE International UK funded programmes.

Role Requirements

The role holder will assist in maintaining high standards of professional competence and integrity in the finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Finance in running the overall finance department.

Oversight of the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger

Responsibility for internal controls; prompt reconciliations of control accounts, separation of duties, and compliance with proscribed systems of authorisation

Assist in the preparation of annual accounts, in compliance with the SORP and relevant GAAP.  Liaison with external and internal auditors

Lead in preparation of the annual cash flow forecast, and preparation of monthly reconciliations between forecast and actual

Bank reconciliations and posting of transactions

Month end processes and journals

Manage the purchase ledger function, ensuring the ledger is kept clean and at an acceptable level.  Ensure the Purchase Ledger Manager is maintaining the sub ledgers within purchase ledger

Assist with the credit control function, in liaison with relevant service leads. This will be supported by KPIs

Oversee the Fundraising Accountant role, ensuring accuracy of reconciliations between Fundraising and Finance 

Manage the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring its accuracy

Submission of the quarterly VAT returns and VAT reconciliations

to provide financial coaching and ensure that over-indebted clients receive tailored debt

Scope of role

Your role

We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The ideal candidate has senior-level fundraising experience at an NGO, organisation, or charity, a strong and established network of executive relationships in major foundations, and a proven track record of identifying and closing deals in the range of 1-5 million USD. The fundraising leader will develop relationships with potential donors, identify fundraising opportunities, and manage the grant application process.

An exciting position has arisen for a Financial Accountant to work for an excellent West London Community Based Charity to provide some critical support to year end. The postholder will be assisting the Head of Finance produce the annual accounts and preparations for audit.

Key responsibilities:

• Planning, preparation, and delivery of statutory reports, publications, external audits, and drafting the annual report and accounts within agreed timetables
• Supporting the Head of Finance in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all the Trust’s financial records
• Working with the Head of Finance, complete and document the Charity’s rent lease incentive calculation (FRS102 on work related to lease incentive and adjustments)
• Producing a detailed audit schedule in a timely manner for review 
• Preparing monthly reconciliations and be responsible for the integrity of those

The Head of Finance Operations will be expected to proactively identify opportunities for improvement, collaborating closely with the Interim-CEO and the Director of Social Enterprise, to ensure excellent management information is available to ensure robust decision-making supports delivery of our strategy.

The Person​

Are you a skilled Financial Accountant with a passion for driving change and making a difference? Do you have strong technical expertise in charity accounting and want to use your talents to support young people facing inequalities? If so, we want to hear from you!

The Role​

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team on a 12 month fixed-term contract, working 3 days per week. £42,000 - £45,000 FTE, (£25,200 - £27,000 pro rata)

You will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, producing statutory financial reports, and supporting a variety of finance projects aimed at improving processes and controls. This is a hands-on role, requiring a strong knowledge of charity accounting standards (SORP, FRS102) and advanced Excel skills.

Key Requirements:​

• Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• Charity Accounting Knowledge: Experience with Charity SORP and FRS102 regulations
• Advanced Excel Skills: Expertise in pivot tables, formulas, and financial modelling
• Critical Thinking: Ability to analyse data, solve complex problems, and make informed decisions
• Communication: Strong ability to interact with both financial and non-financial stakeholders

CONTEXTE

Le projet RANO MAHARITRA est un projet de 5 ans financé par l’Agence Américaine pour le Développement International (USAID) qui a démarré depuis janvier 2024.

Le but du Projet est d’améliorer l'accès durable et équitable aux services d'eau, d'assainissement et d'hygiène (WASH) pour les ménages ruraux. En collaboration avec le gouvernement de Madagascar (GoM) et divers experts, le programme vise à surmonter les obstacles à l'égalité des sexes, à l'inclusion sociale, à la diversité, à l'équité et à l'accessibilité (DEIA) afin d'atteindre quatre objectifs clés :

1. Composante 1 (C1) : Renforcer la gouvernance et la capacité d'accès aux services WASH.
2. Composante 2 (C2) : Augmentation du soutien financier au secteur WASH.
3. Composante 3 (C3) : Amélioration de l'offre de produits et services WASH.
4. Composante 4 (C4) : Stimuler la demande de produits et de services WASH.

RANO MAHARITRA promeut une approche systémique pour promouvoir des services WASH durables et gérés localement, en mettant l'accent sur le GESI, le DEIA et la localisation afin d'autonomiser les communautés, en particulier les femmes et les jeunes.

Le projet, dirigé par CARE International en consortium avec ses partenaires WaterAid, IDE, Miarakap, BushProof et Sandandrano, encourage les partenariats avec les gouvernements, les institutions, les organisations de la société civile, les communautés, les secteurs privés et les bénéficiaires.

Le projet est mis en œuvre dans dix districts de sept régions de Madagascar : Atsimo-Atsinanana, Anosy, Androy, Betsiboka, Fitovinany, Sofia, et Vatovavy.

Climate & public Finance Specialist

Le Climate and Public Finance Specialist sera chargé d’identifier, de développer et de gérer les activités de finance climatique qui contribuent de manière significative à la réalisation des objectifs du projet consistant à renforcer la résilience, des économies à faibles émissions de carbone et des revenus durables pour les communautés.

En particulier, il/elle :

• soutiendra la conception et le développement de projets et de programmes sensibles au climat qui offrent une résilience, des voies de développement à faible émission de carbone et des opportunités de croissance pour les entreprises et les ménages à faible revenu.
• sera principalement responsable de l’intégration des mesures d’adaptation et d’atténuation du changement climatique dans les interventions de RANO MAHARITRA.
• analysera les dépenses publiques et institutionnelles climatiques adoptera un système national d'étiquetage du budget climatique (CBT) qui aidera le pays à collecter et à communiquer des données sur les ressources nationales allouées au changement climatique et à intégrer le financement climatique dans les plans de développement du secteur WASH.

EXPERIENCES ET QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Master en économie de l’environnement, sciences de l’environnement, finances, politique institutionnelle, science politique, sciences sociales ou en planification du développement, études de développement d'une université reconnue, ou équivalent ;
• Au moins 5 ans d'expériences dans un poste similaire et au sein d’une structure internationale ;
• Au moins 5 ans d'expérience dans la planification stratégique, le développement et la gestion de programmes ;
• Expérience avérée dans le renforcement des systèmes, la gouvernance, les cadres juridiques, la coordination sectorielle et intersectorielle, les mécanismes de financement public, la décentralisation ou des domaines connexes ;
• Expérience dans les méthodologies et les outils de suivi et d'évaluation participative pour les interventions liées à la gouvernance du secteur, au niveau local et/ou national ;
• Expérience dans la réalisation de campagnes de plaidoyer ;
• Expérience en gestion de partenariats ;
• Expérience dans la gestion de projets financés par l'USAID.

Connaissances, aptitudes et compétences requises

• Fortes compétences analytiques et résolution de problèmes, avec la capacité d'évaluer des défis du financement vert et financement public dans sa complexité et de proposer des solutions adaptées au contexte ;
• Compétence en leadership avancée et capacité à mobiliser les parties prenantes ;
• Connaissance des questions de renforcement de secteur eau, assainissement et hygiène et démontrant un engagement envers les principes d'équité de genre, de diversité, d’inclusion et protection des personnes ;
• Connaissance des techniques et outils de renforcement de capacité, de facilitation, de formations notamment pour faciliter l'adoption d'une approche systémique pour le renforcement du secteur WASH;
• Excellentes compétences en communication, négociation et facilitation pour engager efficacement divers intervenants ;
• Familiarité avec les cadres et normes internationaux en matière de gouvernance WASH, tels que ceux du Sanitation and Water for All (SWA), est un atout ;
• Capacité à penser stratégiquement et à traduire des plans de développement et des budgets ;
• Capacités en développement et gestion de projets, y compris le personnel, la budgétisation et la gestion.
• Capacité à valoriser les données par des traitements informatiques ;

As an Intelligence Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic gathering, analysis, and dissemination of intelligence as part of our ‘Exploitation Analytics’ service. We work with a number of global organisations including financial service institutions, global technology platforms, telecoms, and the food & beverage industry who rely on our reporting to safeguard their operations against exploitation and identify bad actors. Additionally, this role will support our Prevention Team to develop high quality campaigns that reach vulnerable people on the ground.
