This is a new role, as we are looking to appoint our first Fundraising Manager.

Currently, we have a strong programme of Trust and Foundation fundraising, delivered by our CEO and functional managers, and a small programme of individual giving managed by our Communications and Campaigns team but no dedicated fundraising staff.

We are looking for an efficient fundraiser with an understanding of various fundraising strategies, from individual giving to trusts and foundations.

You will have to opportunity to build this role within a supportive and friendly organisation, and as part of our dynamic Communications and Campaigns Team.

Your role will include:

• Developing and implementing communications, campaign and event strategies: you will develop and drive forward strategies and implementation plans to help organisations define their communications objectives and translate them into achievable outcomes.
• Writing and advising clients: you will write (and edit) copy for a wide range of materials and subject areas, and provide clients with advice on communications materials and approaches to best meet their needs.
• Generating new projects and business: you’ll have the opportunity to define your own role by supporting the team in generating strategic business opportunities – meeting clients and helping them to fully understand the benefits that working with Scriptoria brings.

Working at Scriptoria

The role offers the opportunity to get involved in a variety of projects, gain experience in different areas and contribute to the diverse range of services that Scriptoria provides.

Our staff have the flexibility to work wholly or partly from home or from our office in Tooting, South-West London, during regular operational hours (08:30–17:30). If working from home, staff must have a working environment suitable for holding video-call meetings with clients. Wherever you work, you will interact regularly with other team members to share skills and exchange ideas.

You will have 25 days of annual leave per year, plus public holidays.

Key skills and experience

1. A degree in a subject area relevant to our work. A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
2. A minimum of five years’ experience, together with a track record in developing communications, campaign and event strategies, and advising clients on their implementation.
3. Experience in presenting to groups and facilitating workshops. Enthusiasm to travel would be a big advantage.
4. Extensive experience as a writer in the areas of sustainable development, science or health, with a demonstrated flair for writing compelling, engaging text that effectively communicates key messages.
5. A proven ability to develop and work to a brief, analyse and synthesise source materials and convey complex and technical information to non-specialist audiences.
6. Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to copyedit and proofread documents.
7. Strong project management skills and the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and cope flexibly with a range of jobs to meet (and exceed) client expectations.

The Internet of Production is a small, international charity that brings together a global alliance dedicated to building a future of decentralized and distributed manufacturing. Role & Responsibilities:

Supported by the CEO and the previous project manager (now full-time on a parallel project) and working with a small team of project staff, the Project Manager will:

• Manage the project, informed by the project design and existing workplans and budgets;
• Mobilise existing relationships with makerspaces in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa;
• Oversee makerspace’s bidding application processes for training and financial support;
• Manage donor processes including milestone reports and sharing deliverables;

To support the delivery of marketing and communications in line with our strategy.

Internal comms (50%)

· Support colleagues from across the organisation to develop communications plans for initiatives and change projects.

· Author or edit stories and content to inspire, motivate and inform our colleagues

· Design and distribute email communications to segments of our staff community

· Maintain and post news and events on our Sharepoint-based intranet

· Support with communications planning and delivery for internal events, webinars and meetings.

· Working with the Internal Comms Lead to continually improve and optimise our internal comms channels, including developing our SharePoint intranet.

· Plan, shoot and edit short promotional films.

· Use Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or the Microsoft suite to design materials for cascade by managers to their teams.

Marketing (30%)

· Develop engaging and persuasive written and visual content, including case studies, success stories and testimonials that effectively communicate the value and impact of United Response’s work

· Create engaging and optimised content for our social media channels, applying your understanding of our audience to drive engagement and action

· Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with management of the website, including writing and editing web copy and publishing articles, while embedding SEO principles throughout.

· Optimise case study leads into creative responses written, audio or visual to distribute on our channels

· Support the planning and delivery of communications at external events.

Policy and campaigns (20%)

· Spot and create social media responses to breaking announcements under the guidance of the Press Manager

· Support the delivery of our policy and campaigning strategy with comms and engagement activity.

· Support team administration, including working on a rota basis to manage inboxes

· Support the management of consents and the safe storage of case studies and photography.

· With the wider team explore opportunities to embed a storytelling culture throughout the organisation.

· Develop excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, our agencies and other partners

· Join forums and departmental meetings to advise on communication methods and co-developing communication plans.

This is a full time, maternity cover basis, - up to 12 months (minimum 3 days a week in the office core days are Monday & Wednesday third day depending on rota basis).In return you will receive a competitive salary of £26,000 per annum.

About the role: 

Crimestoppers is looking for a talented Marketing Communications Assistant to work with our Marketing Communications Manager to deliver online and offline, internal and external marketing communications activity in order to increase brand awareness, engagement and lead generation.

You will support the delivery of internal, volunteering, regional and business growth and fundraising communications plans, internal communications activity, and managing multi-channel campaigns, including the website, e-mail, e-shots, and digital channels in-order-to achieve campaign objectives.

Key responsibilities of our Marketing Communications Assistant:

• Working closely with the Marketing Communication Manager/and wider marcomms team to deliver online and offline marketing communications activity to increase brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation
• Liaising with third party suppliers and agencies to ensure requirements are delivered on time and within budget
• Working with business development and regional colleagues to deliver integrated campaigns and provide the appropriate reporting metrics
• Acting as a brand guardian across all Crimestoppers’ communications and assets
• Supporting the Marketing Communications Manager with the provision of campaign metrics and analytics to support the collation of monthly/annual reports, ensuring learnings from previous campaigns are included in future campaign activities
• Supporting the Marketing Communications Manager to ensure Brand Asset Management system is fit for purpose and updated regularly and provide support and training to new members of the organisation
• Supporting wider teams including volunteering and events to compile and send e-updates to their target audiences
• Supporting the Marketing Communications Manager on internal communication requests ensuring our intranet is updated regularly
• Undertaking a variety of ad hoc activities as required to support overall marketing communications objectives

What we're looking for in our Marketing Communications Assistant:

• Graduate or relevant experience in Journalism/marketing or communications
• A post graduate marketing qualification (or working towards one) (Desirable)
• Excellent communications skills and a good eye for detail
• Good knowledge of current best practice in marketing including the use of digital media
• Strong writer who can adapt tone of voice for different audiences
• The ability to use and have experience of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• The ability to use own initiative and know when to refer issues up to a more senior level
