In this varied and fast-paced role, you will be responsible for developing relationships with key media outlets and influencers to raise awareness of cystic fibrosis, the issues faced by people with the condition and Cystic Fibrosis Trust across the UK. You will also support the delivery of the Trust’s internal communications activity and support the Events and Celebrity Liaison Manager in managing the Trust's external events programme and cultivating and retaining key celebrity supporters and influencers.

As a member of the Communications Team, you will help develop external and internal communications on our research portfolio, policy and campaigning work and fundraising initiatives. You will also proactively monitor and look for opportunities for timely responses to the news agenda on social media.

With a fantastic nose for a story, you will have outstanding writing skills and be able to turn complex issues into compelling stories to pitch to journalists and to share with staff. You will be aware of the UK’s charity, healthcare, and policy landscape and have a keen eye on the news agenda, keeping abreast of developing trends and spotting opportunities to pitch comment pieces and reactive statements.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Digital Marketing, the Email Marketing Manager will help to maximise income, supporter recruitment and retention through digital channels, including paid search, display ads and social media (fundraising appeals)

This role is responsible for delivering all email marketing activity, including:

· You will own the entire email marketing strategy, working collaboratively within the lifecycle team, as well as with cross-functional teams such as Creative, Data, Website, Content and Design

You will have experience of:

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of our Strategic Communications team. 

As the Internal Communications Officer you will work collaboratively with diverse teams across the organisation, to schedule and produce a range of inspiring, informative and engaging internal communications. 

Working with the Internal Communications and Engagement Manager, you will conceive and create compelling content for a range of channels including Sustrans intranet and a weekly newsletter. You will also help manage and run Sustrans monthly all-colleague webinars.

Communications:     

• Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues
• Develop brand identity for Kineara’s new charitable arm, ensuring it is consistent across all activities in the organisation, while maintaining Kineara’s overall ‘look and feel’ to ensure coherence in branding, colours, messaging, style and approach.

In this role you will be instrumental in enhancing the communication capabilities of our global programs and local partners. THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced and dynamic team. Within the Marketing Communications Executive – Tree Product Development role, you’ll be a vital support in the development and delivery of the Woodland Trust’s products with a specific focus on trees. 
You’ll underpin the successful planning, development and delivery of these areas with effective marketing communications to support key organisational strategies and objectives, with a focus on products marketing across a variety of channels.

This is a hybrid working role, where you’ll work part of your time at home and part of the time from a Woodland Trust office. Our Hybrid Working Policy is flexible, and the frequency of time spent in your contracted office will vary across teams and job roles. For this role there is a requirement to be in the office, attending photoshoots or meeting suppliers. Ideally a driving licence would be beneficial.

THE CANDIDATE
Experience in audience-focused, segmented marketing activity and delivering key projects successfully is a must. You will ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with the communications plan.
You’ll have experience in approaching briefs with creativity and results in mind, providing clarity and gaining agreement on what the activity needs to achieve. The ability to set and work to clear schedules is essential. Attention to detail is critical and you will need to be confident operating within and complying to regulatory guidelines.

The British Society for Immunology (BSI) is recruiting a permanent full-time Senior Marketing & Communications Officer to deliver engaging communications to a variety of audiences to drive the reach and influence of the Society’s work. 

The British Society for Immunology is an influential and authoritative voice for immunology, a key scientific and health field that plays a central role in many of the most pressing global health challenges we face, including research into the COVID-19 pandemic, developing new treatments and vaccines against disease, and supporting ageing populations to experience healthier lives for longer. This role is split equally between supporting activities of the BSI and those of our publishing portfolio. On the BSI side, you will be responsible for developing and delivering our marketing and communications activity through a variety of channels. Activities can include promoting our membership offering to immunologists working in academia, industry and the clinical sector, promoting key activities such as our events or training offerings, and supporting initiatives to raise the importance and influence of immunology. On publishing, you will be responsible for developing and delivering impactful marketing activities to increase submissions and readership of our official journals, Clinical & Experimental Immunology, Immunotherapy Advances and Discovery Immunology, in particular building the reputation of our newer Open Access journals

The Advice Manager will take the lead on BIAS’s day-to-day advice services, managing a small team of advice specialists to ensure that we provide the highest-quality service to our clients. You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with staff and clients, along with excellent organisational abilities to ensure that projects are delivered on time.

This role will also involve working with the leadership team to help identify areas for future development and support grant applications and reporting, which will give you the opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping the organisation’s future strategy and direction.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

Staff management

• Managing a small advice team, ensuring the quality of the advice provided.
• Providing support and supervision to staff on the delivery of advice services, ensuring that appropriate advice is provided and casework deadlines are met.
• Ensuring good teamwork and lines of communication between staff, volunteers and partner agencies.
• Creating a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are promoted and staff can do their best.

Quality and service delivery

• Leading the welfare advice services, including contributing to possible future expansion.
• Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one day’s work per week).
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS maintains the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and is successful in AQS renewal.
• Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

Operational support

• Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

WHAT DOES BIAS DO?

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our Active Ageing Clubs and our Be-a-friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £1 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for possible further expansion in 2024 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

You’ll play a key role in supporting and delivering internal communications and driving engagement across the charity. This will include planning, writing and publishing communications that will inform, engage and inspire our colleagues across all areas of our work.

This will help them to deliver in their roles to support the Parkinson’s community and deliver on our strategy.

• Write, edit and distribute the weekly all colleague newsletter 
• Create content for, and be responsible for maintaining, our internal channels, including our staff intranet.
• Write and edit internal articles and copy
• Monitor and manage our internal engagement mailbox, service desk, and planners.
• Be responsible for the coordination and distribution of our manager bulletins.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience of delivering effective internal communications that drive participation and engagement. 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a meticulous eye for attention to detail and excellence in delivery.
• Excellent prioritisation and organisation skills, alongside a flexible approach.
