We are on the lookout for a fantastic Events Project Manager to help our healthcare client on an interim basis for a 6-month contract role.
The post holder will be responsible for planning, managing and delivering one their biggest annual events and ensuring the project is completed according to the allocated budget and timeline.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Assume the lead operational role on the project and develop, oversee and manage the end-to-end project plan for the award scheme and event.
• Launch and manage the nomination process internally and externally.
• Manage and lead the judging panel process.
• Plan and execute the award ceremony event including: administration of invitations and management of the attendee list; scope and book the venue and finalise the contract including audio visual arrangements; confirm catering requirements, logistics, entertainment and table decoration; agree the event programme and speakers.
• Work closely with the small project team to lead the project, problem solve and ensure that tasks are delivered on budget and to the desired timescale. 
• Negotiate and effectively manage relationships with the venue and suppliers.
• Work closely with the communications team to promote the awards scheme, generate nominations and ensure that internal and external stakeholders are engaged
• Recruit, manage, coordinate and oversee event volunteers.
• Maintain the budget and ensure milestones are met according to the agreed timeline.
• Manage, negotiate and implement contracts with external providers and suppliers.
• Identify and agree measures of success to evaluate the award scheme and event and make recommendations for improvement.

Person Specification:

• Experience managing and implementing award and recognition schemes and large scale, high profile events
• Highly experienced with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Working with and coordinating people to deliver objectives and defined tasks
• Maintaining effective relationships with organisational leadership

Reporting to the Head of Donor Acquisition and Retention (HODAR) and working within the Fundraising team, the Legacy and In Memory Lead is responsible for managing implementation of the Hospice’s legacy (gifts in Wills) and in memory strategies and developing annual delivery plans. The post holder will strategically plan and deliver promotional and stewardship activity, as well as ensuring provision of an excellent supporter experience, to achieve budget net income across these income streams and grow our active support base, including numbers of known supporters who would consider or have already pledged a gift in their Will to the Hospice.

The Legacy and In Memory Lead will work closely with the Individual Giving Lead to ensure appropriate coordination of planned activities involving existing and prospective individual giving, legacy and in memory audiences. The post holder will also work closely with the HODAR to help inform the development of departmental strategies.

The successful candidate will have significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising and developing in memory products. You will have experience in using a variety of on and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to both acquire and develop donors. You will have demonstrable experience of managing targets and income and expenditure budgets.

This is a permanent position with flexible hybrid working, based 4 days from their Essex offices. The salary is £28750.42 to £37,293.98 depending on experience.

There are currently 2.9 million people in the world living with MS and currently there is no cure. But, Overcoming MS provides hope through lifestyle changes which are backed by scientific research and which enables sufferers to lead a full and healthy life with MS.

Reporting to the CEO and managing a small team of two, we are looking for support to create long-term and sustainable income streams that allow us to plan for strategic growth. This is likely to involve building a pipeline of corporate partners, major donors, and legacy pledgers to grow income over the medium to longer term as well as managing and developing relationships with prospective high value donors.

The appointed candidate is likely to bring demonstrable experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies, regularly reviewing them and monitoring against KPIs. You are likely to be a strategic and creative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit in order to be able to identify and harness new opportunities and trends to drive income growth. As such a solid understanding of income generation opportunities outside of regular fundraising income streams would be helpful.
