About the role:

You will lead and support a team of Homicide Family Caseworkers to meet VS and Homicide Service standards and contractual requirements. You will be able to demonstrate the excellent organisational skills essential to managing a demanding and diverse workload and will have experience of achieving key performance indicators, as set by the Operation managers and Deputy Head of Service.

We pride ourselves on providing exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support to all service users and you will have an understanding of the impact that trauma and bereavement can have on individuals. We support staff to keep them safe within their role and you will lead on the importance of personal and professional resilience and wellbeing for the team.

You will have excellent communication skills and will support the Operation Managers to maintain the highest standards of service delivery, across a widely geographically dispersed team. You will be prepared to travel across the geographical area including occasional overnight stays to ensure you can meet team members in person as well as online. A driving license and use of a car are both essential as well as access to public transport. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

You will also enjoy working closely with a range of stakeholders (including Police Family Liaison Officers and Senior Investigation Officers within the Major Crime teams) and will have experience in building constructive working relationships, focused on delivering the best service for vulnerable service users. You should be a confident presenter, and able to share the service and work we do to inform, educate and encourage notifications and referrals into the service.

Our housing support team focus on supporting people with varying support needs who have a history of homelessness. We have a number of shared houses and modular homes across Cambridge, and the Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work our support workers do with their residents.

The service is covered by a team of Support Workers who work 9-5, Monday to Friday, and a Team Leader.

Overview of the Role

As a Welfare Benefits Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals in making benefit claims and accessing the support they need. You will join a busy team that supports thousands of disabled people and carers across the borough and specifically provide a bespoke home visiting service to our most vulnerable clients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Benefit Claims Assistance:

   • Provide guidance and support to individuals in understanding their eligibility for various welfare benefits, including Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, and Attendance Allowance.

   • Assist clients in completing benefit application forms accurately and efficiently.

   • Stay updated on changes to welfare benefit regulations and policies to provide accurate information to clients.

2. Home Visiting Service:

   • Conduct home visits to assess clients' needs and provide personalised support in accessing welfare benefits.

   • Develop tailored action plans in collaboration with clients to maximise their benefit entitlements and improve their financial stability.

3. Client Empowerment and Education:

   • Empower clients through education about their rights and responsibilities within the benefits system.

4. Working within our Team

• Liaise with colleagues in order to provide the best possible advice to all clients

• Attend team meetings

• Undertake appropriate training

The Role

There’s no such thing as a typical day in the LionHeart support services team as the cases we support are as individual as everyone who calls us. We are hiring a Mental Health Floating Support Coordinator to support our Luton Service which delivers support to individuals living within the community who have support needs pertaining to their mental health and wellbeing. The service works alongside statutory services, with the aim of moving people on to independent living within two years. • Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
• Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others

Role Summary

How this role fits into the vision and objectives of Causeway

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Crime Reduction Advocate within our Refocus Team based in Merseyside. Working primarily with female individuals who have been identified as being at risk to low level domestic violence. Please note due to the nature of the work there is an occupational requirement for the applicant to be female. It is key that it this project is survivor focused and looks to address abusive behaviours at their source, at an early intervention phase, via support and education. This means working with both those who have carried out such acts and those who have been made subject to them.

The successful candidate is expected to support a caseload of individuals in order to jointly assess and manage any initial risk and to ensure all safeguarding protocols have been followed. The role is not that of and IDSVA, although some of the skills will overlap, the is to provide on-going support to individuals in areas of need in which they feel dis-empowered and hence build confidence and skills. This process will happen in partnership with the organisation DMAT who will run ‘See the signs’ course which will look to educate and equip individuals to feel safe and empowered in this area. It is important to note that you may also be required to work with people displaying potentially abusive or coercive behaviours (perpetrators), offering education and support to promote long term change.

About the role:

This role is based at either our Preston or Accrington Office. After six months probation you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.

As a Triage & early Intervention worker you will be:

• Making initial contact assessing and providing information to victims/survivors of domestic abuse
• Providing any immediate safety and support needs for the victims/and their children(s) including safeguarding when required.
• Providing administrative support to our wider team to support them in the delivery of advocacy to victims/survivors of mainly domestic abuse.
• Liaising with the police and other agencies to ensure all relevant information is collected including safe contact numbers and consent from victims/survivors.
• Gathering feedback from service users and collating this into monthly reports and contributing to monitoring information for the service.
• Participating in regular supervisions and reviews.

You will need to:

• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the myths, facts and misconceptions about domestic abuse.
• Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Understand the needs of victims/survivors of domestic abuse.
• Understand the effects of trauma and the importance of trauma informed practice.
• Have a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
• Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance.
