We are looking for our next Finance Manager / Senior Financial Controller, someone who shares our compassion for animal welfare and wants to play a central role in stewarding Mayhew’s financial resources for the greatest impact.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will work closely with senior colleagues across Mayhew—including members of the Senior Management Team—to support strong financial direction, responsible stewardship, and effective, mission‑driven decision‑making across the charity.
This is a highly visible and hands‑on leadership role. You will lead Mayhew’s day‑to‑day finance function, ensuring strong financial controls, good practice financial management, and timely, accessible financial reporting for colleagues, trustees and partners. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial planning, management accounting, statutory reporting and SORP compliance, as well as supporting operational teams with practical financial insight and advice.
You will also help develop and strengthen financial systems and processes, recognising that—as a mid‑sized charity with evolving needs—Mayhew continues to refine its structures to best support our work. You will lead and support a small finance team, modelling an open, collaborative and hands‑on working style.
Our London site—our historic rescue and rehoming centre—is at the heart of our UK operations. You will collaborate with colleagues across operations, veterinary services, fundraising, people and engagement to ensure financial clarity underpins good decision‑making as we continue to care for dogs and cats in need.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, direct and deliver all aspects of Mayhew’s finance function, ensuring strong, proportionate controls and high‑quality financial information.
- Engage, influence and collaborate with senior colleagues and trustees to support the effective delivery of our strategic and operational goals.
- Provide clear financial guidance to non‑finance colleagues and act as a supportive, trusted partner across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Strong charity finance experience, including Charity SORP (FRS 102), fund accounting, statutory reporting, financial planning, budgeting, and knowledge of VAT and Gift Aid.
- Hands‑on experience of month‑end accounting, financial controls, cashflow management, and management accounts preparation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial information clearly for non‑finance colleagues and trustees.

Borde Hill Garden is seeking to appoint a Heritage Project Manager to support the Delivery Phase of its National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) funded ‘Reinventing Borde Hill’ project. The successful candidate will lead this exciting project, reporting to the Project Board and working with the Project Director to ensure that this phase of the project is fully delivered to time and on budget. The successful candidate will have proven experience of working on heritage projects, and will act as the key point of contact for the NLHF ensuring adherence to all NLHF frameworks and requirements, and ensuring that all documentation is managed accordingly. The role will involve working closely with the internal project team, wider garden staff and volunteers (including leading on the recruitment of volunteers), as well as the externally appointed Design Team, Cost Consultant, Evaluation Consultants, and other consultants. The Heritage Project Manager will coordinate the internal project team.
The successful candidate will maintain a close overview of the activity plan, the risk register, and the budget, as well acting as a point of contact, organising, attending and participating in project and stakeholder meetings; and compiling the information required for the project until the planned ‘soft opening’ in Spring 2028.

Tasks and responsibilities
· Become fully acquainted with all previous project documentation relating to the NLHF bid and acquire a good knowledge of the detailed objectives of the project
· Act as a key point of contact for NLHF ensuring that all necessary NLHF financial requirements and conditions are processed and/or met, including compiling grant drawdowns, reporting and assisting with the development of the project within the agreed programme
· Support the procurement of the construction contractors, and lead on procurement of other contractors, including preparation of briefs, enquiries, advertisements, evaluation and associated paperwork ensuring that their work is procured on time and within budget
· Oversee the work of the Design Team and other consultants ensuring that their deliverables are on time and coordinated with the other aspects of the project
· Liaise with an external construction project manager to ensure that a strong alignment is maintained between the capital build and the other elements of the project (e.g. activity plan, fundraising, evaluation etc.)
· Coordinate monthly progress reports from key workstream leads (internal and external), and compile these into a monthly Project Status Report
· Oversee the project budget, maintain the tracker and cashflow spreadsheet, and work with the Finance team to process invoices for payment
· Arrange project meetings, including co-ordinating diaries, sending meeting invites, monitor responses, and produce and circulate agendas and papers.
· Attend and where appropriate chair meetings, take and distribute minutes, and monitor actions as appropriate
· Work with the Marketing team to contribute to social media and website copy about the project
· Work with the Community Engagement Officer, supporting them to build and maintain relationships with current and prospective community partners, deliver the Activity Plan at the Community Growing Garden, and co-ordinate project-focused events such as Community Open Days
· Work with the Fundraising Manager, supporting them to create applications and approaches to potential funders (including trusts and foundations, individual donors, corporate donors, legacies etc.), and support with donor stewardship and relationship management post-gift, including reporting to other funders and supporting with donor events
· Support the work of the Evaluation Consultants, including internal and external evaluation of engagement initiatives
Skills and experience
To be considered for this position, you should be able to demonstrate some or all of the following:
· Good project management experience, with experience of medium-sized NLHF projects
· Experience of working on capital projects and working with contractors to deliver project builds
· Experience of working in the heritage environment, especially with listed and/or designated landscapes
· A good knowledge of budget management, monitoring and reporting
· Experience and understanding of community engagement, evaluation and partnership working

About the Role
We’re seeking an Individual Giving and Acquisition Officer to lead on our individual giving strategy to join our high-performing fundraising team.
2025 was our best year yet for income and this role is pivotal in helping us to take the next step in growing our supporter base and future income.
This new role will be responsible for planning and delivering multi-channel campaigns to recruit regular donors, using data-led insights, audience segmentation, and performance tracking to optimise activity across digital, direct mail, telemarketing, and face-to-face channels.

The Role
The CEO will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and cultural leadership for Veterans With Dogs. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the CEO will oversee the delivery of the charity’s mission, ensure operational excellence, develop our long-term strategy, and foster a values-led and high-performing team.

Role Summary
Our fast-growing team at ProVeg UK has ambitious targets for the coming years, and we need innovative, entrepreneurial thinkers to help us reach them for 2026 and beyond.
The primary focus of this role is to establish and lead our UK mid-major level (HNWI) donor function alongside our Co-Executive Director. We have a successful track record with Trusts and Foundations (T&F) and are now looking to cultivate a diverse portfolio of funders who are accelerating the transition to a sustainable food system, tackling climate change, and ensuring the food we eat is good for all. You will be the architect of this new HNWI income stream - researching, qualifying, and securing transformational gifts from scratch.
While philanthropy experience is essential for this role, you will also collaborate with our Development Manager to oversee our established T&F portfolio. We are predominantly seeking strong philanthropy specialists and are happy to provide training on grant applications where needed.
This is a pivotal role for someone looking to lead on a high-impact fundraising strategy and help secure the vital resources needed for our continued success.

Responsibilities

Establish the HNWI Pipeline by leading the proactive research and identification of new UK-based major donors. You will manage the full prospect lifecycle, from cold outreach and initial "discovery" meetings to the final ask and bespoke stewardship.

Conceptualise, launch, and manage a new donor circle (e.g., an 'Impact Club') to create a structured engagement programme for mid to high-level supporters alongside the Co-Executive Director.

Co-develop a creative 3-year fundraising strategy and set actionable annual and quarterly objectives.

Qualifications

About School of Food
Set up in March 2020, Hackney School of Food (HSoF) is a food education hub on the grounds of Mandeville Primary School in Clapton, East London. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of children, families, and our community by developing practical skills and confidence in food growing and cooking, from seed to spoon.
In 2023, we became a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), and have since grown our team, strengthened our governance and expanded our facilities with the addition of a new Garden Room, increasing capacity for workshops, dining and events. We are now well-positioned to grow and diversify our income streams, which enables us to subsidise our schools and community programmes.
Role Overview
This brand-new role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver Hackney School of Food’s commercial and marketing strategy, with a focus on growing key income streams including corporate engagement, paid workshops and events, and venue hire. You will shape how HSoF positions itself externally and how we grow our trading income to subsidise our food education community offer.
While this is currently a freelance role, it is not a transactional position; you’ll collaborate closely with our team, supported by and reporting to our Managing Director. This is a role for someone who can think commercially and creatively and then roll up sleeves to put strategy into action. Commercial Strategy & Income Generation
● Work with the Managing Director to develop and deliver a clear, mission-aligned commercial and marketing strategy.
● Grow earned income streams including corporate engagement, paid workshops and events, and venue hire, helping to sustain and expand schools and community programmes.

Outputs & Success Measures (First 6 Months – Indicative)
We recognise that Hackney School of Food is at a growth stage and that commercial income is shaped by many factors, including capacity, seasonality and market conditions. These outputs are intended as guiding success measures rather than rigid targets.
By the end of the initial six-month contract, the Commercial & Marketing Lead will have:
● Produced and agreed a clear Commercial & Marketing Delivery Plan for Hackney School of Food, setting priorities for growing our commercial income in a way that aligns with our mission.
● Refined our core commercial offers and packages (e.g. corporate away days, team volunteering, venue hire, paid public workshops), ensuring they are appealing and realistic to deliver.
● Built a healthy pipeline by identifying and actively pursuing 10–15 well-aligned commercial leads, with a focus on quality of fit as well as volume.
● Supported a meaningful increase in commercial enquiries, alongside capturing learning about what kinds of outreach, messaging and partnerships resonate most.
● Created a suite of core marketing assets for commercial activity (e.g. simple decks).
● Delivered at least two targeted promotional pushes (for example around corporate away days), testing approaches and learning what works best.
● Increased the visibility of our commercial offers across agreed channels (e.g. website, LinkedIn, email and partners), with light-touch reporting on reach.

For almost 40 years, Church Urban Fund has been enabling and supporting mission and ministry amongst the lowest income communities. Despite this work, and the work of many others, levels of poverty and engrained inequality remain desperately severe, despite living in one of the wealthiest countries.
This newly created role seeks to help us resource churches across England, so that we can achieve our vision of ending poverty and doing this together. The successful postholder will be key in helping develop new resources that sit alongside our very successful Growing Good resource and form part of our expanding Knowledge Bank that enables churches to have the knowledge, confidence and connection to engage with social action as a core part of their mission and serve their local communities. This role will also be influential in helping plan and deliver our increasingly popular and well attended webinars and in person events.

The Opportunity
As a key team member within our Partnerships and Income Development team, you will play a vital role in creating, developing and delivering the Social Mobility Foundation’s Employer Programme and Social Mobility Employer Index - how we inform, influence and positively impact employer-led social mobility, and a source of income generation.
1. Delivery of the Social Mobility Employer Index
- Deliver the SMEI 2026, including but not limited to: marking entries, creating individual feedback reports for each entrant, creating sector reports for key industries, and gathering feedback to review and update the survey for 2027
- Maintain accurate and up to date information and process documentation, including the mark scheme used to mark entries, and the process followed to create feedback reports
- Support with the ongoing development of the digital platform, employer resources and online content, ensuring it is updated in line with the survey and delivers a smooth user journey
- Support with the annual monitoring and evaluation of the SMEI and its impact on employer-led social mobility
2. Stakeholder management and customer service
- Provide excellent customer service and stewardship to organisations entering the SMEI throughout the whole customer journey, e.g. preparing and sending regular communications and updates to prospective and live entrants, answering questions received into the SMEI inbox and troubleshooting independently
- Prepare and deliver feedback calls and presentations for organisations, including Lunch & Learns on social mobility, introductory calls on the SMEI, presentations and webinars about the SMEI, and providing detailed feedback calls on entrants’ performance in the SMEI
- Support with creating and developing assets and activities to market the SMEI and other products and services including webinars and social media assets
- Engage with external stakeholders, such as employers, policy experts and social mobility practitioners, to understand key issues and trends relevant to workplace social mobility
3. Quality standards
- Stay up to date with the latest research, evidence and on workplace and employer-led social mobility, communicating changes or updates with colleagues, as well as maintaining and updating the evidence base for the SMEI

Paid Media
- This is a vital and rapidly growing area for the charity, and this role will manage all paid-for digital marketing, including lead generation and acquisition (Meta, Google, etc.).
- Create advertising campaigns and ensure effective tracking, monitoring, improvements, evaluation, and reporting of campaigns.
- Oversee our Google Ads grant (PPC) and (CRO) Google Tag Manager.
- Manage our main Google Ads account and launch Search, Display, and YouTube advertising for our digital-first Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month campaign.
- Deliver detailed advertising reporting using Looker Studio or other similar digital dashboards.
Digital content
- Manage and maintain the content calendar, including planning and scheduling content that aligns to both Pancreatic Cancer Action and project objectives.
- Create and manage the sourcing of high-quality content for blogs, website pages, social media posts, email content and for all other digital channels.
- Write, edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment to Pancreatic Cancer Action’s Text and Brand Guidelines.

Social media
