The Senior Legacies Manager is a reworked position that will manage relationships with high-value legacy pledges and create and implement a legacy marketing strategy for the Academy. About the role
- Responsible for legacy income of between £2.5-3 million a year
- Management of the legacy portfolio, ensuring excellent stewardship and communications to current and prospective high value pledgers
- Develop and implement a legacy fundraising and marketing strategy following an initial audit of the legacy programme and income
- Work with external legacy administration consultants, preparing reports for SMT and ensuring compliance

Bookmark began life just over five years ago with a clear mission; they want every child to read. Currently more than one in four children are leaving primary school unable to read well. About the role
As the Senior Philanthropy Lead at Bookmark, you will work with the Head of Fundraising to manage and grow our philanthropy portfolio within the wider strategy. You will lead a team of three to deliver on the fundraising strategy, line managing both the Philanthropy Manager and Senior Fundraising Executive. Your role will involve proactively researching and identifying new potential Bookmark major donors and working with trustees, staff, and the Partnerships Board to build a robust pipeline of supporters and secure introductions.
You will own and build a portfolio of new major donors through the full donor cycle who give £25,000 or more, ensuring a first-class cultivation and stewardship journey. You will create compelling, relevant, and tailored funding proposals, reports, and collateral to inspire and inform donors, reflecting Bookmark's strong brand. You will devise and deliver annual plans, together with associated budgets, in line with the charity's strategic objectives. You will use Salesforce to manage the accurate recording and forecasting of major donor income, enabling efficient reporting and KPI management.
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have a successful track record in high-value fundraising and acquisition, including a proven track record of securing five or six-figure gifts to meet or exceed targets. You must have experience line managing individuals, nurturing their development, and managing their performance to achieve results. Ideally, you will have experience developing and managing a calendar of successful charity events that meet fundraising targets and managing or working with a fundraising board or high-value committee. You should have the skills to influence, motivate and persuade people to donate and experience writing successful, inspiring, emotive, and technically accurate cases for support and proposals tailored to a major donor audience.
You should be experienced in growing and managing a pipeline, planning for your portfolio, and increasing income.

Salary £24,000 per annum (£40,000 FTE)
Contract: Fixed term - four years (with a potential extension subject to funding)
Hours: 3 days/21 hours per week (with some Sunday and evening work required)

About the role
- This is an exciting time for the Fundraising manager to join the team to aid in the income growth for Christ Church and St. Matthew's, including support for Agape, the community missional project.
- The Fundraising Manager will lead in building a pipeline of steady income from a range of income revenues including but not limited to creating and maintaining a grant program pipeline, and preparing engaging proposals for funders.
- You will help to develop a fundraising strategy to encourage the growth of regular financial giving and developing digital giving opportunities.
- You will generate new rentals for the available spaces to hire and build community fundraising partnerships.
- You will maintain accurate records, complying with policies on confidentiality and fundraising good practice.
- You will liaise with parish leaders and relevant stakeholders to support key initiatives.
About you
-You will have demonstrable experience in successful fundraising, including strategy development and individual giving.
-You will have outstanding communication skills, both written and spoken and be an effective relationship builder with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
-Attention to detail is key to this role as well as strong numeracy skills and the ability to manage
-You will have effective leadership skills and commitment to professional development.
-You will also have the willingness to work in a Christian environment and support the missional ethos of the parishes.
- Experience in fundraising management and knowledge of Church of England structures would be desirable as well as the knowledge of Spanish, or willingness to learn.
