Responsibilities:

• Crafting Compelling Funding Applications: Collaborate with the CEO to create high-quality, persuasive funding applications. Utilise your creativity and storytelling skills to effectively communicate the impact of our projects.
• Building Positive Relationships: Cultivate strong partnerships with trusts, grants, and foundations. Ensure timely and meaningful communication with funders, including thank-you messages, updates, and reporting.
• Maintaining Records and Pipeline: Keep accurate records of funders and funding applications. Manage the pipeline of submissions and responses to optimise fundraising efforts.
• Prospect Research: Conduct thorough research using trust-finding databases and other resources to identify potential grant makers. Match suitable projects with the most appropriate funders.

We’re expanding our Income Generation team with this new role, which will be critical in securing funding to enable us to support more people, in very different ways.

As the Trusts and Foundations Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our fundraising efforts, generating income through grant applications to fuel our essential programs and pioneering pilot initiatives. You'll be the driving force behind building strong relationships with grant-giving bodies, family foundations, and corporate supporters, crafting compelling proposals that secure vital funding.

Previous grant writing experience is not essential, but the successful candidate will have well honed writing skills and the ability to pitch proposals to a variety of audiences.

The Income Generation and Communications department is a small team, working flexibly to support the charity’s frontline services. From time to time, you will need to represent the charity at events, support bids for contracts, and meet potential corporate and individual supporters. This will mean occasionally working evenings, weekends or on your non-working days. We’ll give you notice of when this is required and you’ll be able to claim your time back.

This role can be office based or predominantly remote to suit you (albeit there will be times when you need to be in Billericay or elsewhere in Essex). We’re open to negotiating the working pattern with the successful candidate, to be as flexible as possible.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

• Full driving license. Able to drive Hamelin vehicles as well as use of own car
• Experience of writing professionally and persuasively
• Experience of working across teams and influencing other Managers • Experience of presenting complex information for a variety of audiences
• Great communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and credibility
• Bravery to challenge the status quo and embrace a continuous improvement approach • The ability to understand complex information and analyse data
• ICT skills such as MS Office suite It would be great if you had:
• Formal qualification or training in bid writing, marketing, grant applications or other fundraising disciplines • Experience of building relationships with grant giving bodies
• Experience of working with individuals with a learning disability or neurodiversity
• Experience of change management and service growth.

About You

We are seeking a driven and determined candidate with proven experience in fundraising or business development ideally gained from the voluntary sector.  Our ideal candidate has an enthusiastic attitude as well as experience in developing and growing services.  We are looking for someone who aligns with our mission and we ask that all our staff live our organisation’s values and demonstrate them in their day-to-day work. 

You will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable you to build authentic relationships with members, donors, partners and commissioners.  You will also need experience in leading change within an organisation, supporting our team on our journey of growth and sustainability.

You will need to be approachable, organised and have excellent communication skills with good IT skills to be able to excel in fundraising.

Duties Include:

Fundraising and project development:

· Lead the implementation of Bexley Mencap’s Fundraising Strategy; reviewing existing fundraising strategies, identifying opportunities for development and introducing innovative strategies to achieve fundraising goals. 

· Research and pursue new funding opportunities; including grants, legacies and social enterprise/earned income opportunities.

· Develop compelling cases for support, tailoring funding bids and applications accordingly

· Develop and maintain funding pipelines, providing reports to the Trustee Board

· Support and line manage part-time member of the team (may be required to support more staff if the role grows/adapts)

· Support the Chief Executive in extending and strengthening relationships with existing partners and developing new relationships

· Ensure all fundraising initiatives adhere to best practices, ethical guidelines and legislation

· Identify and evaluate opportunities for new projects and initiatives aligned with the mission and objectives of the organisation.

· Lead the development of project proposals, including conducting needs assessments, defining project scopes, and establishing timelines and budgets.

· Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful project implementation and delivery.

Organisational Change and Growth:

· Work closely with the senior leadership team to identify areas for organisational growth and improvement.

· Champion initiatives aimed at enhancing organisational capacity, efficiency, and sustainability.

· Support change management processes to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

· Coach, motivate and guide staff and volunteers

Haven House Children’s Hospice supports hundreds of families, looking after children and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. Your role

As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Bognor Regis shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.

About you

You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. You will also demonstrate an appreciation of Scope’s values and ambition of achieving Everyday Equality for disabled people.

About working in our shops

Our shops are the face of our retail brand, run by a dedicated, creative and passionate bunch of superstars. We focus on sustainable fashion and engaging with local communities. We lead our volunteers to deliver a great colleague and customer experience. And we raise much needed funds to deliver Everyday Equality for disabled people and their families.

It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day, so some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. We work 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

The role

Our Communications and Marketing Officers support all areas of Family Fund’s communications and marketing department. In this role, you will use your creative flair to help deliver strategic communications and marketing plans. And you’ll craft compelling and engaging targeted content to support cross-channel campaigns.

Working closely with colleagues and partners, you’ll be promoting the grants and services we deliver and helping generate vital income so we can be there for even more families.

If you join us, you’ll be:

• Working with the Communications and Marketing Manager to create, implement and evaluate communications and marketing strategies and campaigns, across all areas of Family Fund’s work.
• Creating vibrant content that’s really focused on our target audiences This could be news stories, press releases, blogs, campaign copy, or email newsletters, website pages, social media posts.
• Helping secure positive media coverage for Family Fund and our work
• Supporting wide-ranging internal teams with communications and marketing advice and guidance, and targeted plans to help them achieve their goals
• Giving an editorial steer- editing and proof-reading so all our external content is in line with our brand guidelines.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest communications and digital marketing trends and putting these into practice in your role.

About you

You’ll be someone who is driven by our purpose, and excited about achieving impactful communications and marketing outcomes. You’ll need strong verbal and written communication skills as well as experience of copywriting, editing and proof-reading.

Also, you’ll need solid digital marketing skills, including creating engaging social media posts, across channels.

Finally, you’ll need to be confident in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The role is essential to delivering the charities income targets for Trusts and Foundations and developing long term relationships. In addition, the post holder will support the Head of Income Generation with approaching, reporting, and maintaining Trust and Foundation relationships for major appeals.

he Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising team and focus on delivering income targets from trusts and foundations. The role is responsible for growing LDCT’s trust and foundation income by increasing the amount and longevity of funding from current supporters, as well as building a portfolio of new trusts and foundations through research, maintaining a pipeline of prospects, updating the Funding Matrix and making successful applications. Building good relationships with new funders including regular reporting, as well as good stewardship of existing funders, is an important part of the role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Delivering on fundraising priorities and targets for trusts and foundations income, including our current and future major appeals.
2. Researching, identifying, and prioritising appropriate trusts and foundations to maintain and convert a pipeline of new, prospective trusts and foundations.
3. Working with colleagues across the organisation to help shape projects for funding and creating strong Cases for Support to ensure effective applications.
4. Writing and submitting high quality targeted funding applications.
5. Maintaining an effective stewardship programme for trusts and foundations including appropriate accurate records, ensuring the fundraising e-Tapestry database is kept up-todate and that fundraising income is processed efficiently with timely thank you letters and acknowledgements.
6. Managing relationships with existing and new funders to encourage maximum funding, multi-year funding awards and repeat funding.
7. Monitoring outcomes, updating the Funding Matrix and producing timely reports and information as required externally by funders and internally for Management reporting.
8. Promoting the support of funders through press releases and social media posts.
9. Adhering to standards of fundraising best practise as set out in the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practise and ensuring all activities comply with relevant Data Protection obligations and any other legislation

Contract - Permanent - following 6 months probation

Hours -      Part time - 30 hours per week - Remote - hours can be worked flexibly throughout the week.

You’ll have some experience in digital fundraising, helping Vista steward more supporters online.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week flexibly Monday – Friday. There may be a requirement for some evening/weekend work due to the nature of the role. This is a hybrid-based role.
