Sebastian's Action Trust is a registered charity providing specialist holidays, alongside practical and emotional support to seriously ill children and their families. They provide support to families of life-limited and seriously ill children from diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.
The role
As Community Fundraising Manager you will be responsible for building and stewarding relationships with third party fundraisers, fundraising groups, schools and sports club associations as well as leading the development and implementation of fundraising initiatives, activities and campaigns within the community.
You will be responsible for putting a Community Fundraising plan in place and you will work closely with the Trusts Volunteer Co-ordinator to ensure that volunteers are recruited. You will also work with the wider team on various appeals such as the Christmas appeal.
About You
It is desirable that you will be experienced in the third sector and be good at building relationships with a proven track record of securing new income however if you have transferrable skills and are looking to get into the Charity sector then this role might be for you! You must have a driving licence and some flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

We are working in partnership with Weston Hospicecare, a highly regarded local charity founded by the local community over 30 years ago. They are the major provider of specialist palliative care in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, and Sedgemoor, providing free of charge physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual care to local people.
A new Director of Fundraising is sought to provide inspiring leadership to the fundraising function of Weston Hospicecare, implementing a fundraising strategy that will build voluntary income from its current level of £2 million per annum to provide long-term and sustainable income sources for the Hospice. Building a high performing fundraising team, with excellent working relationships throughout the organisation, through effective and decisive leadership, coaching and developing existing staff and recruiting new talent to take the activity forwards will be essential. This is a strategic leadership role, but operational fundraising elements will include taking personal responsibility for major donors and negotiating high value and/or high-profile fundraising partnerships.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proven fundraising experience and a sound working knowledge of all main fundraising methods.
- Excellent track record in leading a team to deliver financial targets.
- Understanding of GDPR legislation and of the Fundraising Code of Conduct as it applies to the work of the charity.
- Ability to work at both strategic and operational level, including project planning, monitoring and evaluation.
- Ability to translate strategic vision into clear direction for the organisation and line reports.
- Track record of managing teams, both salaried and volunteers with a proven ability to recruit, train, monitor performance and nourish talent.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven fundraiser to join Kew’s successful Development team. About You

You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong and effective relationships with funders and colleagues. You will be a strong communicator and creative thinker with the ability to work calmly under pressure and synthesise complex information to inspire a variety of audiences.

As Supporter Care Officer you will play a key role as part of the Supporter Care team delivering outstanding multi-channel services to the charity’s existing and potential supporters and donors, through the provision of high-quality supporter care, donation and fulfilment services.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
To respond to donor and potential donor enquiries through multiple channels with the aim of complete supporter satisfaction and, encouraging supporters to retain or increase their support
To take inbound and make outbound telephone calls/emails as required to new supporters, follow up queries, address concerns, verify details or thank donors.
To retain and manage information needed for contact management, using appropriate resources and reference materials, including preparing and sending briefs to the rest of the team and agencies/suppliers
To keep informed and up to date about all relevant issues relating to supporter care, for example changes to legislation relating to charitable giving such as gift aid, data protection and the Fundraising Codes of Practice
To handle complaints from a variety of sources and respond sensitively and in line with agreed quality objectives
To contribute to the team’s objectives by actively taking part in, or leading on specific projects
To recognise fundraising opportunities and promote them amongst supporters
To undertake supporter administration tasks as required, including thanking, amending records, setting up Direct Debits and Gift Aid and provide support to the Donation and Fulfilment functions of the team, as directed by a Senior Officer or Supporter Care and Fulfilment manager
To undertake pro-active communications to supporters and/or organisations from time-to-time, to support colleagues across the FundComm Directorate in the marketing and stewardship of supporters and donors
To make legacy asks as and when appropriate and be comfortable having these conversations.

The Senior Individual Giving Officer role will focus on supporting the organisation’s journey of growth and development. You will be responsible for supporting their individual giving programme, ensuring that income targets are met and activity is evaluated to drive improvement.
You will deliver campaigns across digital, mail and phone, evaluating performance and supporting the Individual Giving and Insight Manager with the testing and implementation of new fundraising activities.
To be successful as Senior Individual Giving Officer, you will need proven experience in:
- Managing direct marketing campaigns within a charity environment, including monitoring and meeting targets.
- Reporting on and evaluating campaigns to identify areas for growth and development.
- Working collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders to deliver a project.
Salary: £31,000-£35,000
Contract: Full-time Permanent
