We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children living with serious illness/ disability or mental health crises in hospital by making our case to donors, trusts and corporate organisations to fund our work in children’s hospitals.

We have an opportunity to fill a brand-new role within the charity - a bid writer/fundraiser to research, design, write and submit detailed applications for capital and revenue funds to support our services. A day in the life of a Fundraising Development Manager:

• Generate income from individuals, and corporates
• Promote appeals and events to prospective supporters
• Join forums and networking events to cultivate new income generating relationships
• Meet with supporters in person, on-line and by phone
• Collaborate with colleagues in service teams to identify funding needs
• Recruit and work with volunteers, including corporate volunteers
• Thank our donors and supporters and ensure they feel valued – we love creative ways to say thank you
• We also love creative ways to say please and you will help generate new fundraising ideas
• Contribute to team meetings and collaborate with fundraising colleagues

Requirements

Proven experience of planning and managing income generating activities and events

Main responsibilities will include:

Prospecting and research

• Research the funding market, tracking and identifying suitable high value tendering, commissioning and partnership opportunities and funding streams, in line with Artswork’s strategic plans, priorities, Fundraising and Social & Ethical Policies

• Conduct regular, timely reviews of published tenders and funding opportunities, in order to make recommendations to the Head of Business Development on which ones to pursue

• Establish a focused, qualified pipeline of prospective funders, investors, sponsors and donors Bid development

• Working to the strategic guidance of the Head of Business Development, prepare funding bids, tenders and sponsorship proposals, meeting funders' procurement and management requirements

• Develop realistic, costed delivery plans and budgets for proposals, working with the Head of Budgets, Contracts & Policy

• Lead the budget development process for bids, ensuring compliance with Artswork’s internal finance policies and funder requirements

• Coordinate the input of relevant stakeholders into the bid development process, ensuring they are aware of what is needed and by when, bringing everything together in a timely manner

• Effectively manage multiple funding deadlines to ensure no key opportunities are missed

• Establish an efficient and effective internal process to manage the bid lifecycle, including ensuring effective Go/No-Go decision-making processes are followed and that bid design achieves the right balance of price, risk management and design quality Stakeholder management

• Develop and implement a plan to secure ongoing relationships with grant givers, commissioners and sponsors, to retain their support into the future

• Coordinate the input of the Sales, Marketing and Communications team into proposal design

• Work with the Evaluation and Impact Manager to put in place monitoring and reporting arrangements in line with commissioner, sponsor or funder expectations Information management and compliance

• Establish robust systems for the efficient planning and tracking of pipeline and bid activity ensuring compliance with Data Protection, Artswork’s operational requirements and policies

• Contribute to the development of Capsule CRM to ensure that the Artswork’s implementation of the platform meets the requirements of the Fundraising and Development function

• Maintain positive professional relationships with our participants, partners and stakeholders

• Adhere to Artswork’s values and its policies and procedures, i.e. Equalities, Health and Safety, Data Protection, Safeguarding and Environmental Policies

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Chief Executive, the post-holder will lead on all aspects of development, marketing and fundraising, and people/HR development; maintaining high level relationships with donors and prospective donors and maximising opportunities to secure new sources of income from individuals, companies and charitable trusts, as well as improving our internal comms.

We are looking for someone who has experience working in collaborative environments to meet organisational goals and build and manage relationships. They will demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop in order to surface and establish partnerships, lead funding bids, develop our people, and act as a key representative of the Centre to the outside world.

What you'll be doing
We have a grand opportunity for someone looking to grow their charity experience - As our Fundraising Officer, you'll generate income by creating exceptional written applications and reports. To do this, you'll dive into research, keeping tabs on all fundraising opportunities, as well as crafting strong grant proposals, which is a key aspect of this role. You'll also need to bring in new corporate supporters by building new relationships/sponsorships as well as maintaining existing ones.

In this dynamic team, you'll plan costing, and execute various activities for a charity experiencing an invigorating period of expansion. As our Senior Regional Partnerships Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing, leading, and managing British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) UK-wide Regional Partnerships Team to ensure that targets for new business acquisition and account management are achieved.

The role includes managing a team of Partnership Managers to support, empower and enable the Community Fundraising teams to maximise their success in winning, retaining, and maximising corporate partnerships across the UK.

In this role, you’ll be a key senior member of the Corporate Partnerships Team, playing an integral role in shaping the future of our partnerships.

Working arrangements
 
This is a home-based role with regular travel across the UK to meet with partners, prospects, line reports and regional Fundraising Managers. You will also need to travel to our London Office once a month. You’ll be reimbursed for all reasonable travel expenses.

On occasion, you may also be required to work flexibly to support evening and weekend activity. Where this is the case, you will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.

About you
 
As our perfect candidate, you bring end-to-end experience of identifying a partnership opportunity, taking the prospect through the sales cycle, and securing the corporate partnership. You have demonstrable experience in thinking commercially and winning six-figure + opportunities.
