Purpose of the post:

To provide specialised, holistic support to young people between the age of 18 and 25 who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse, harm and violence, and are being supported within Community services in Torfaen.

We are looking for a compassionate, reflective, and person-centred individual to join our team in delivering trauma-informed support to adults and families. This role is about more than providing a service—it’s about striving for people to feel safer, gain more control, and have choice over decisions about their future.

Specific responsibilities

• Collaborate with individuals and team members to provide trauma informed support to a caseload of young people within community settings.

About the Role

The Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Officer is responsible for building deeper relationships with some of our most committed supporters. This is an exciting role with opportunities to further develop our expanding Gifts in Wills, in-memory and mid-value programs. It also has oversight of our multi-channel cash appeals program which sets out to generate income from our base of committed supporters.

The role is managed by the Individual Giving and Legacy Manager but will work closely with all of Public Fundraising alongside other key internal stakeholders. The Senior IG and Legacy Officer will also be responsible for fostering relationships with various external agency partners.

The role has line management responsibility for the Public Fundraising Admin Assistant, supporting them to flourish and develop in their role, and ensuring they’re able to fulfil important supporter care tasks for the Public Fundraising Team. Key internal relationships are the Research Team, Services team, the Comms and Marketing team, and the Philanthropy team.

Our five-year strategy sets an ambitious milestone that by 2028, more than 7 in 10 people will be diagnosed at stage 1 or 2. Right now, it's less than 4 in 10. The Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Officer will play a vital role in engaging with new and existing supporters and growing fundraising income to help achieve this goal. Data and Compliance

• Coordinating data processing requirements in line with our policies. Assist with managing data as instructed and per our data handling and retention policies.
• Coordinate and track data subject access requests as these arise.

Health & Safety

• Coordinate general Health and Safety documentation within the organisation ensuring fire and general risk assessments are completed in a timely manner, working with HR to coordinate information between the Techspace team and our Fire Marshalls and First Aiders.
• Act as a First Aider and/or Fire Marshal for ScreenSkills staff.
• Arrange annual training for first aiders and fire marshals.

About the role

As a Community Fundraiser for Shelter, you will play an integral role in driving our community fundraising strategy across Manchester and the wider Greater Manchester region. You will engage with a diverse range of audiences, including individuals, local businesses, schools, volunteers, and community groups, to build meaningful relationships and raise vital funds to support Shelter’s mission. Your responsibilities will include managing fundraising events, overseeing budgets, and identifying new opportunities to grow our supporter base. You’ll be at the heart of our efforts to inspire long-term engagement with Shelter’s work and make a lasting impact. You will also work in collaboration with colleagues from across Shelter, including local teams, shops, and services, to ensure that community fundraising goals are aligned with Shelter’s broader objectives.

We are looking for someone with experience of community fundraising and engagement who possesses the skills to build good, meaningful relationships and have strong communication skills to be able to motivate and inspire existing and new supporters. You will need to be able to take a proactive approach to managing budgets and events in your role as community fundraiser and above all, you will also have a passion for social justice and share Shelter’s belief that everyone has the right to a safe home.

About the team

This exciting opportunity sits within Shelter’s Community and Events team which is a part of the Income Generation directorate.  Community & Events is made up of our Community Fundraising, Supporter Experience, Digital Fundraising & Marketing and Mass Participation teams, across the team we look after a wide range of fundraising activities encouraging supporters to raise money and providing them with the support to do so.

In this role, you will report to the Senior Community Fundraising Area Manager for Northern England, who will provide guidance, coaching, and support to help you thrive in your role. You’ll be working as part of the Northern England Community Fundraising team, alongside colleagues based in Yorkshire, Newcastle, and Merseyside.

Young People Case Worker

We have a new role available for Case Workers to work as part of a team delivering an assessment, support and move on service to vulnerable clients in supported and community-based accommodation, based in Bishop Auckland and Tow Law County Durham.

About the Role

As Young People Case Worker you will work under the direction, guidance and support of a Service Manager and an Assistant Area Director, you will be responsible for a caseload of clients as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service.

The service consists of two hubs, 1 in Bishop Auckland and 1 in Tow Law and we have an Outreach service to 7 dispersed properties in Bishop Auckland. Your role will span all three areas for job rotation and continuity of service.

The team follow a 5-week shift pattern of 8-hour shifts between 0730 – 2200 hrs including weekends and bank holidays as one service is 24/7 and both sites have dedicated night staff.

Early shifts 0730-1530, Late shifts 1400-2200 and Main shifts 0900-1700/1000-1800 (Depending on hub)

The accommodation services are based in Bishop Auckland and Tow Law in County Durham. You will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on. You will be responsible for a caseload of clients as well as shared responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service. This includes outreach support to clients in dispersed properties in the area.

The role does involve lone working.

Key responsibilities include:

· Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all clients, following safeguarding and emergency procedures as needed.

· Act as key worker for a caseload of clients, leading on risk and needs assessments and SMART, outcomes-based support plans.

· Provide personalised, flexible, and creative support, involving clients in decision-making and encouraging participation in activities.

· Collaborate with external agencies to support clients, adhering to data protection and information sharing protocols.

· Support clients to access Education, Training, Employment, and Volunteering opportunities aligned with their goals and aspirations.

· Contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, including preparing accommodation for new clients and supporting their transition.

· Assist in coordinating and supporting volunteers and promoting client involvement initiatives and residents' meetings.

· Maintain clear, accurate records and participate in team rotas, including evenings and weekends, carrying out additional duties as required.

About You

You will need to have the following skills and experience:

· Experience working with young people or those affected by homelessness.

· Understanding of the needs of individuals facing homelessness, mental health issues, substance misuse, or the care system.

· Knowledge of risk assessments, support planning, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.

· Strong literacy, numeracy, IT skills, and commitment to diversity, equality, and professional integrity.

· Ability to maintain professional boundaries, work collaboratively, and reflect on practices for continuous development.
