Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia; a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime – either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible for as long as possible.

Purpose of the job/About the role

Join Dementia UK as a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Support Officer and have the opportunity to work with a team who have a shared focus of collaborating and improving the lives of families living with dementia through the learning experience of Admiral Nurses.

Collaborating closely with our Academy Coordinator and team members, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing the Admiral Nurse Academy’s learning management system, Blackboard, to ensure it offers Admiral Nurses high quality learning opportunities. You will design and build online learning courses and modules, from an initial structure/outline, to the detailed storyboarding of content (supplied by Academy Team), activities and assessments. You’ll harness various digital tools and applications like Articulate, Vyond, and Padlet to craft captivating content. Ensuring that the learning design for all online programmes is focused on helping Admiral Nurses to achieve course learning outcomes and meet their personal learning goals.

The preferred candidate will have high-level knowledge of learning management systems and the digital tools used in online learning. You will have experience of working or studying in online education or training, being able to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. You will be able to work in a deadline driven production environment and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously working with internal and external stakeholders.

You will be educated to degree level or above in health sciences, life sciences or with equivalent relevant experience. With experience of developing, monitoring, reporting and delivering multiple projects simultaneously, you will also be able to communicate complex scientific concepts in a clear and accessible way and be able to plan, budget and monitor grant award expenditure and be comfortable taking decisions and responsibility.

It makes schools more sustainable, helps communities protect and restore the nature around them. Let’s Go Zero is a national campaign uniting teachers, pupils, parents and their schools as they all work together to be zero carbon by 2030. We’re also working with national government to ensure the right support is in place to help all schools reach this goal through seven policy actions.

The Let’s Go Zero campaign is seeking one Climate Action Advisor based in Cumbria or Lancashire, and one Climate Action Advisor based in North/North East Lincolnshire or Hull, as part of its new climate action advisors project. This initiative will link thousands of schools across the whole of England with advice and support from a network of 31 local climate experts.     

About the Role 

Do you have a passion for climate action? Are you confident engaging with external stakeholders? We're looking for two advisors to support school leaders, local authorities and others to carry out projects that reduce emissions and inspire students and the wider community. We know schools are eager to take climate action, but often lack the information to do so.

You will play an important role helping them develop their plans, secure funding, and work in partnership to achieve their goals. You will support future new initiatives announced by our coalition members, the Department for Education, or other organisations working in schools, to ensure a smooth flow of information, enabling schools to transition to zero carbon. 

This is an exciting and varied role, with the potential to support thousands of schools on their journey to zero carbon.

What you might find yourself doing: 

Climate action advice: 

• Advising school leaders, multi academy trust leaders, local authorities and local networks about climate action in buildings, estates and within school activities. 

• Developing relationships with local authorities, supporting their current initiatives, building on the work already being done to support schools in the area. 

• Attending and speaking in person at local and online events to encourage climate action and promoting sustainability.

• Visiting some schools in person to provide direct 1:1 guidance to school leaders. 

• Recording all school engagement, advice and action in the Let’s Go Zero tracker and ensuring all team members do the same. 

• Working in partnership with other Climate Action Advisors across England. 

Communications: 

• Communicating complex guidance to a mixed audience – helping school leaders, estates staff, finance teams and teachers to understand their impact and possible action. 

• Working with the communications team to generate insights into Let’s Go Zero’s work, contributing to articles and blogs. 

• Producing case studies of action in schools to be shared with the wider climate action network. 

About You 

  You’ll thrive in this role if you have: 

• Excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible approach and work well in a team. 

• A track-record in either climate change, decarbonisation, sustainability or education (obtained through previous roles, volunteering or other routes). 

• A passion and commitment to climate action.

• A good understanding of climate action in schools, colleges or nurseries.

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly.

The role

Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in collaborating across teams to support the Executive Director and senior leadership team to become more effective and strategic in their work. They will provide support to the leadership and governance of the organisation, working closely with the Executive Director, Director of Philanthropic Partnerships, Director of Finance and Operations and other team members as required to provide high-quality administrative and communications support to the organisation. The Executive Administrator will build strong relationships across GGF’s global team. The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, and/or grant-making organisation. They demonstrate knowledge and experience in charity/nonprofit administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to ensure accuracy of work and demonstrate precise attention to detail. They have experience dealing with administrative processes and office administration, especially in a non-profit, remote organisation. They will have skills to give, receive and work with feedback constructively. They must be meticulous with exceptionally strong follow-up and follow-through skills and have the ability to work under high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines. They should have excellent interpersonal understanding, relationship building, and interpersonal skills to build strong alliances with diverse constituencies with experience working with diverse communities from multiple identities across the globe, in a virtual environment. 

They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. 

English fluency is a must.

About the role:

We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to work alongside our other Community IDVA. This is a full-time, permanent role. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse mainly covering Bedford, working with victims of domestic abuse who are predominately risk assessed as standard/medium. This role will also work alongside our other services covering Bedfordshire.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Individual Giving Team for a nine month secondment as Individual Giving Manager managing our regular giving programme. 
Regular giving at Alzheimer’s Society is growing year on year with an ambitious target of £8.5M for 2024/25. In this role you’ll get the opportunity to lead a high performing team of two, working across all regular giving campaigns including face to face fundraising, telemarketing, payroll giving, digital and SMS. You’ll provide strategic direction to the team and manage the significant expenditure budget, assessing and optimising spend to give the best value to Alzheimer’s Society and make the best investment to grow regular giving. 

There are lots of exciting projects coming up in regular giving including launching a test of door-to-door fundraising and our new Membership product which has shown great results in initial testing. You’ll also be building strong relationships with our new agency partners for 2024/25.

This role also gives the opportunity to network and work closely with teams across the organisation including data, events, supporter experience and procurement. 

You will be an excellent relationship builder, confident working with external agencies and creating successful partnerships as well as building relationships internally with stakeholders across the organisation.

As Forward Action’s Partnerships Officer, you’ll support the Partnerships Director to build and maintain strong relationships with our partners, so we can help them achieve change on everything from climate change to refugee rights.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a collaboration partnership project between TCC, Wrexham Citizens Advice, and Wrexham Foodbank. This project will work to reduce poverty and the impact of poverty on people living in Wrexham.

The project coordinator role will be supported by management from the three partnership organisations.

The project coordinator will be responsible for the management and coordination of the project including budgeting, planning and implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. They will coordinate the project partners and wider stakeholders to support an influencing campaign in Wrexham funded by Lloyds Bank Foundation England and Wales.

Key Tasks Include:

• Raising awareness of the problem of poverty and its structural causes amongst those living and working in the county
• Making local elected officials, policy makers, and local organisations aware of the drivers of poverty and encourage them to take steps to alleviate these drivers
• Running community workshops, training, and other engaging activities to partner with people, including those with lived experience of turning to poverty support organisations (such as a food bank)
• Think strategically about how best to bring about change locally, working with a range of stakeholders, and enabling local people to engage with local policy makers
• Collaborative working – bringing the partner organisations together in a strategic and creative way
• Coordinating the setting of agreed project milestones with partners and track progress
• Being the main point of contact for all partners
• Coordinating partnership meetings (confirming chair, finding meeting venue, sending invites, setting meeting  agendas, and distributing notes)

About you

As Head of Marketing and Strategy you will lead the marketing team to produce robustly-planned, insight-driven, effective marketing campaigns servicing the needs of the organisation. You will be responsible for the brand and marketing strategy and making sure we’re achieving against our goals for the coming years.

Fixed term 12 months from July 2024, 35 hours a week

Location: Here East or another Scope office with flexibility to work from the office and from home. 

The role 

This role will be working on rolling out our new brand identity alongside the Head of Creative and Brand as well as delivering on a brand and marketing strategy and roadmap towards a large-scale brand campaign in plan.

You will dedicate yourself to making progress on established plans for the year and stay focused on achieving key milestones.

To be successful in this role you will need: 

• Demonstrable experience in a similar level Marketing role taking responsibility for a team.
• Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating brand and marketing strategies, operational plans and delivering campaigns which have created shifts in the awareness, engagement and income generating capacity of an organisation.  
• Strong leadership of a large team, leading by example and building trusted and positive working relationships with Directors, Heads and teams across Scope.   
• Experience with prioritising marketing activity by audience needs and making sure all activity is impact-driven and associates with our organisational strategy goals for the year.
• Knowledge and ability to join up many cross-organisational enabler projects across data, digital, fundraising and supporter journeys to help us reach our marketing goals.

About you

You don’t need to have worked in a charity but the ability to demonstrate quick learning about specialist marketing areas through previous work experience will be vital for this role.

• An experienced marketing leader ready to jump into action at a really important time for Scope.

The Refugee Council is one of the leading organisations in the UK working with people seeking asylum and refugees. The Digital Team is the central hub of digital expertise within the charity and a significant amount of our communications are delivered via owned and paid-for digital communications.The Digital Team is currently involved in two core organisational projects: a rebrand and a website re-design.
