The post holder will be a member of the DecodeME team, a project led by the University of Edinburgh and Action for M.E.
Playing a key role in developing communications for the project, you will need to create and implement a wide variety of materials that meet the needs of our primary audiences which included participants, all of whom have Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/ chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), and the scientific community.
Leading the work of Decode ME’s Marketing and Communications Group (MCG) you will facilitate the planning and implementation of the project’s communication and engagement strategy and study promotion activities across the different media channels and audiences.
DecodeME is a co-production, meaning researchers, practitioners and people with lived experience work together, sharing power and responsibility from the start to the end of the project, including the generation of knowledge.

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead on the charity's finances and accounts.
The Head of Finance has lead responsibility for overseeing the finance function of the organisation. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive, is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and works closely with the Board of Trustees and in particular with the Treasurer. The post holder also has responsibility for the line management of the Finance Officer and the Feeding Service Administrator (Finance Team).
Working with SMT colleagues, this role leads on all financial reporting and analysis to the team and to the Trustee Board and Finance Committee, the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
The Head of Finance leads the annual audit and preparation of the annual report and accounts working closely with the Chief Executive, Treasurer and Chair of Trustees. In addition, the role supports the wider team in compliance with financial policies and procedures and acts as Finance Business Partner by providing support and guidance to budget holders.

About the role
You’ll build relationships to influence improvement in care and support NHS services across Wales. You’ll work alongside Parkinson’s Nurses, Consultants, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Service Managers to support the development of Parkinson’s services in a way that reflects the things that matter most to people with Parkinson’s. You’ll also work with NHS staff and Parkinson’s UK colleagues to monitor and respond to threats to Parkinson's services and effect positive change to address them.
You’ll use your quality improvement expertise to support health & care professionals with change projects and programmes, equipping them with the latest tools, resources, evidence and data to develop and improve services for people with Parkinson’s.
Finally, you’ll support a vibrant network of healthcare professionals across Wales via the Parkinson’s Excellence Network to share best practice, provide resources and education and drive improvements to services for people with Parkinson’s and their families.
What you’ll do:

Support health and care service redesign and improvement projects in collaboration with clinicians, Parkinson’s UK staff and people living with Parkinson’s, drawing on the principles of co-production.

Support NHS professionals to develop and implement service improvement plans, using the results of the 2022 UK Parkinson’s Audit as a lever.

Promote the funding opportunities available via the Parkinson’s Excellence Network and provide support where appropriate to the development of business cases and grant applications from NHS teams across Wales.

Respond to threats to services in collaboration with the Wales Team, the UK-wide Service Improvement and Grants Team, people affected by Parkinson’s and health and care professionals.

Role description and purpose
The post-holder will be responsible for the successful leadership and management of CPA’s portfolio of programmes in line with the strategic direction set by the Council and Trustees. We're looking for a self-motivated individual to join us as a new Legacy Officer and run a demanding caseload of legacies, helping us in the delivery of our ambitious strategy.
As our Legacy Officer you'll be responsible for the day-to-day administration of legacies in accordance with our policies and strategy. You'll manage your own caseload of largely residuary legacies, working up to include complex and contentious cases. You will answer enquiries from solicitors and individuals in connection with bequests and assist in all matters relating to the department’s work.
Our Legacy team is sector leading. You’ll have the opportunity to build British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) reputation as a good recipient of legacies and increase BHF’s income from bequests.
Over half of our income comes from people leaving a gift to us in their Will. Charitable legacies are therefore vital to enable us to continue our life-saving research programme to fight cardiovascular disease.
Working arrangements
This is Fixed term contract until 31 May 2025, covering family leave. Start date is as soon as possible.
