Leading on all individual and regular giving, membership programmes and legacy fundraising, this role will have real impact on supporting the diversification of fundraising.

To be successful as the Senior Individual Giving and Membership Manager, you will have previous fundraising experience in individual giving or membership fundraising. This person will also understand how to run fundraising appeals and working towards financial targets. They will need to be able use data to make informed decision on individual giving strategy and implement these to achieve growth.

This role is a full-time permanent position that will have hybrid working in the London offices two days per week. The salary for this role is £50,000.

Overall Purpose:

Lead the process for the production and approval of all consolidated internal and external reporting and statutory accounts. Lead the VAT and Corporation tax accounting and reporting process and the relationship with external tax advisors (VAT and corporation tax) Manage the treasury function and oversee all investment fund management and balance sheet reconciliation. Develop and maintain of the financial policies, controls, systems, and processes and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the group's finances and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirement.

Produce statutory accounts for the group and subsidiary entities and lead the process for approval and filing.

Lead on all aspects of the audit process, including relationship with the auditors and ensure all queries are resolved in a timely manner.

Produce monthly consolidated reports pack including SOFA/balance sheet and cash flow forecast for board and committees pack including P&L and cashflow.

Ensure month end reconciliations are completed for all balance sheet accounts and follow up on any outstanding actions. Lead on the effective posting and reconciliation of group payroll, pensions, and other intercompany payments, while working with the wider finance team.

Oversee the accounting and administration for all fixed assets, investments, bank accounts and restricted funds, including reporting to the FB and TBAC. Manage the preparation and submission of the group VAT returns within the statutory deadlines.

Lead the relationship with external Corporation tax advisors and respond to all requests from HMRC in a timely manner. Coordinate all external reporting request from National Statistics Office and other regulatory bodies.

Review, develop and control accounting standards and policies.

About You  

They are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in business planning or rural estate management with a passion for nature and entrepreneurial spirit to support the acquisition and management planning of new nature reserves in Wales which help restore Celtic rainforest and other important habitats. 

Nature conservation is changing, in the face of the biodiversity and climate crises no longer is it sufficient to protect existing habitats but instead we must look to restore nature at scale in order to ensure it’s survival. To meet this challenge, the nature reserves of the future must also adapt; new sites must become resilient both ecologically and financially. This means utilising a wide variety of funding streams and carefully considering restoration interventions, all whilst making these sites as engaging and accessible as possible. This post will work alongside the Rainforest Restoration Programme team to ensure that new rainforest sites support nature recovery and improve the resilience of the Trusts in Wales. By showcasing these new sites, they can act as powerful advocacy tools that support nature beyond their own boundaries thereby maximising the positive impact of the programme for nature and for communities. 

The Atlantic Rainforest Restoration Programme is a £38.9 million, 100-year programme working in a long-term partnership with Aviva. Native to the British Isles, temperate rainforest is an incredibly rare and biodiverse habitat, rarer even, than its tropical counterpart. This programme is going beyond traditional habitat restoration and creating new rainforests on eligible sites across the bioclimatic envelope (the area along our Atlantic coastline with the specific conditions needed for rainforest to thrive). 

You will need to understand the political, economic and social context that the Welsh and UK nature conservation sector operates within. With that understanding, you will be able to use your direct experience of funding and investment as well as business planning to help the Trusts in Wales create a network of new nature reserves with sustainable business models. 

You will be highly organised – prioritising time and workload effectively. You will be able to utilise ICT efficiently and effectively. Your personable approach will enable you to work with all, building collaborations and partnerships across Trusts and with many different stakeholders. 

Your knowledge of woodland ecology and creation together with relevant regulatory processes, grant options and contracting methods will be essential to the successful delivery of Celtic Rainforest creation on these sites.

The Role

• Regularly report back to the Director of Fundraising on plans and activities
• Lead and manage the Supporter Journeys mapping and implementation programme across a range of channels and products

Research & Service Development

• Identify individual giving trends and use this knowledge to continually develop new products for the charity
• In line with GDPR and complying with all legislation and the Code of Fundraising Practice: ensure fundraising and campaigns are insight-led and focused on long-term growth
• Oversee the compliance of third party agencies to ensure activity is carried out in line with the value of The National Brain Appeal, the Fundraising Code of Practice and the law

The Role

To support our policy and public affairs (P&PA) activities; so AdviceUK has a strong voice and our messages are heard at a national and regional level across England, Scotland and Wales; all so we can secure policy, funding and system change to benefit people seeking advice and the communities served by our members. Do so by working close with AdviceUK colleagues to ensure our policy, advocacy and campaigns activity is robust, challenging and independent and to raise our profile and reputation.

Responsibilities:

Policy Development

• Collaborate with AdviceUK colleagues to develop relationships with AdviceUK members, partners, funders and sector stakeholders to capture key policy data to support policy and advocacy work.
• Research, write and produce a range of policy material, including reports, select committee responses, evidence statements, briefings and responses to Government consultations.
• Manage the monitoring of policy, regulation and political activity across the UK, including key debates, parliamentary questions, All Party Group and select committee activities to inform our policy and campaigns activity.
• Support the smooth running of AdviceUK's policy workstreams, supporting effective integration of policy work across England, Scotland and Wales.
• Write reports, briefings and papers to keep members and internal stakeholders updated on our policy and public affairs activity.

Stakeholder Management And Public Affairs

• Lead on planning and delivery of our stakeholder and parliamentary contact programme and support this by writing letters and drafting briefings.
• Maintain and regularly review our stakeholder mapping, work with P&PA colleagues to ensure it reflects policy and public affairs objectives and sets our best routes to achieve desired outcomes
• Deliver effective public affairs monitoring and research, briefing and speech preparation, ensuring relevant developments and insights are shared with P&PA colleagues
• Support AdviceUK to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across governments and parliaments (including Ministers, MPs, civil servants); local and regional decision makers; non-governmental bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
• Do so by communicating our policy proposals; intelligence about AdviceUK members; the evidence we have of the issues raised by them and, where relevant, arranging for key stakeholders to visit services to gain a lived experience perspective.

Data and Evidence

• Deliver any required analysis of data and reporting in order to support decision making.
• Support the delivery of reports as required to demonstrate if performance is achieving required KPIs
• Ensure the membership and stakeholder data you enter is accurate and timely. Work with AdviceUK colleagues to support data quality; accurate reporting and analysis.

About You

• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with peers, mangers, partners and suppliers
• Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills, with ability to translate data and evidence into actionable insights to inform decision-making
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to use online forums, communities and events as an engagement tool
• Experience of stakeholder mapping and prioritising across England, Scotland and Wales
• Experience of working in the UK parliament and Whitehall landscape
• Experience of 1:1 briefing of MPs, civil servants and other key stakeholders
• Experience of using video content to communicate policy objectives and public affairs work to stakeholders
• Experience of working in partnership with others on joint campaigns

This Community Fundraising Volunteering Officer role is a newly created role due to the investment and growth across mass fundraising.

You will join the Community and Volunteer team, work closely with the Volunteering Manager, and will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of new and existing fundraising volunteering programmes, increasing participation and enhancing volunteer’s experiences. • Experience of working towards financial targets and KPI’s. With a proven track record in achieving financial and non-financial targets in a community/fundraising capacity.
• Experience with stakeholder management, relationship building and communication skills, with the skills to persuade, motivate and inspire external audiences.

The Role

To conduct research and analysis to build a strong evidence base to support AdviceUK's policy and campaigning goals; so that AdviceUK is an authoritative and effective advocate for the advice sector; to the benefit of people seeking advice and the communities served by our members.

Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis

• Research and provide core evidence for key stakeholder; policy submissions and reports, including government consultations and reviews.
• Conduct horizon scanning of external developments in the political and social welfare advice landscape across England, Wales and Scotland, reporting of issues of relevance to AdviceUK staff and members.
• Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative research projects to support AdviceUK's policy and campaigns work.
• Analyse and report on sector statistical releases and other key reports.
• Work collaboratively with the Systems and Technology Department to prioritise, design, gather and then maintain relevant data sets to support our work including member statistics and relevant data from AdvicePro (the case management system most of our members use).
• Assess and report on the impact of central and local government policies and proposals on the key policy issues of concern to AdviceUK members and on the social welfare sector in general.

Policy Publications and Communication

• Interpret and clearly communicate complex findings to a wide range of audiences including members, policy makers, researchers and the public.
• Research, write and produce a wide range of policy publications including reports, blogs, briefings, presentations, website and social media content.
• Provide a range of desk-based research support for key projects, including literature reviews, briefing papers, published reports and press reports
• Support the identification and gathering of case studies from AdviceUK members and its beneficiaries to support policy and campaigning activity

Data and Evidence

• Undertake research; analysis of data and reporting in order to support decision making; in particular the prioritisation of policy objectives given the diversity of our membership network.
• Support the delivery of reports as required to demonstrate if performance is achieving required KPIs
• Ensure the membership and stakeholder data you enter is accurate and timely. Work with colleagues to support data quality; accurate reporting and analysis.

About You
