The role
As the Research and Evaluation Manager, you will manage the ACU’s overall contribution to the AU EU International Research Consortium (IRC). The IRC is a new bi-continental platform for Food and Nutrition Security and Sustainable Agriculture (FNSSA). It was launched in 2022 and is closely linked to the main policy process of the AU-EU cooperation on Research and Innovation- the High-Level Policy Dialogue (HLPD). The implementation of the FNSSA Roadmap is expected to be improved through the IRC platform which is aiming to provide a long-term and sustainable governance and funding mechanisms, and a knowledge management and communication system that will inform policy makers and other major FNSSA actors.
The ACU is one of the founding organisations of the IRC. The role holder will be responsible for partnership management and the development and implementation of the Monitoring and Evaluation Frameworks for two Horizon Europe funded programmes which will be contributing to the establishment and maintenance of the IRC.
Key tasks will include developing participatory monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) frameworks, data collection and analysis systems as well as project management including reporting to Horizon Europe programme coordinators based at the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) in Ghana.
Who are we looking for?
The role of Research and Evaluation Manager will require experience in developing participatory monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) frameworks, data collection and analysis systems. As well as a good understanding of the research and innovation landscape of food and nutrition security as well as sustainable agriculture in Africa and Europe.
You will need:
• Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) skills in the context of sustainable agriculture and food security, including design of framework, data collection tools, and analysis.
• Research impact analysis skills.

Alongside our large-scale, depot-based operations we have green ‘point-to-point' food redistribution projects in central London and Canary Wharf. In Poplar, we operate a commercial Kitchen which uses surplus food to cater for up to 5,000 individual meals per day.
Purpose of the Job
The People Administrator will manage all staff recruitment and operations at The Felix Project. You will support the hiring managers through all stages of the employee life cycle and will ensure this process is both rigorous and streamlined. You will also manage and support our HR administration systems and will act as first point of contact for day-to-day staff issues. Working closely with the Head of People you will help introduce improvements to our systems and administration processes.

Position
What you’ll do (key responsibilities)
The research arm of the Banking Standards team ensures that ShareAction’s banking campaign is based on sound analyses and facts. Our Research Managers are responsible for analysing banks’ position on climate change, related industry standards, and market developments. Based on in-depth assessments, they formulate recommendations to strengthen banks’ commitments and inform engagement by investors and other stakeholders. Insights and recommendations are typically grounded in the following types of research:
- Investor briefings and short research notes reviewing climate-related commitments made by individual banks, either on a specific area of their climate strategy (e.g. in response to a new commitment) or across their climate strategy (e.g. to support a shareholder resolution or voting recommendation).
- Thematic reports and internal position papers reviewing how the European banking sector aims to address a specific issue and/or the relevant standards banks relies on (e.g. to inform engagement on new areas of work like green finance or refine existing campaign asks like fossil fuel policies).
- Banking surveys ranking European banks on their approach to climate change across are a range of themes (e.g. governance, climate targets, sector policies), in collaboration with the Financial Sector Research team.
The Research Manager is responsible for tracking banks’ commitments on an ongoing basis and ensure this information feeds into all types of research in a consistent and timely manner. This role closely collaborates with campaigners and support engagement efforts with research insights. They also lead on certain investor briefings, research notes, and thematic research under the supervision of the Senior Research Manager.
Specifically, the Research Manager leads on the following areas of work:
- Monitoring banks’ climate-related commitments on an ongoing basis and reflecting new commitments and updates in an internal database (‘banking tracker’) in a consistent and timely manner, enabling accurate and efficient uses across various research and campaigning activities. For example, the banking tracker will help streamline the pre-filling of banks’ individual questionnaires for the banks survey.
- Producing thematic research to inform ShareAction’s position and recommendations on climate-related issues. Initially, the Research Manager will conduct research on topics included in the banking survey but not covered by existing thematic reports (e.g. governance). This research will directly inform the development of the next banking survey questionnaire.
- Drafting investor briefings and similar research materials in close collaboration with campaigners to support engagement with focus banks, members of our investor coalitions, and journalists, amongst others.
- Presenting research to banks and other stakeholders including investors in meetings or webinars.
- Drafting responses to external consultations and taking ownership of consultations in specific areas of expertise.
- This role will be possibly required to line-manage and mentor one Senior Research Officer, addressing development needs and fostering their professional growth.
The Research Manager will also support other areas of work in the banking team, including:
- Delivering the banking survey (feeding into the research questionnaire, collecting data, and inputting into specific sections of the report
- Filing shareholder resolutions
- Drafting investor letters and AGM questions
- Among other operational needs (e.g. note taking during meetings)
The Research Manager will initially be contracted on a 12-month fixed term contract. We are aiming to make this position permanent; however, this is contingent on securing longer term funding for the role by the end of the 12-month period.

Position
What you’ll do (key responsibilities)
The Research Intern will primarily support the Senior Research Manager in updating, maintaining, and further developing a database tracking climate-related commitments made by the largest European banks. The commitments that we currently track include banks’ fossil fuel policies and emission reduction targets. The banking tracker is a critical source of information with multiple use cases: data collection for the banking survey and other research reports, engagement with banks and investors, and ability to respond quickly to announcements and media queries. The banking tracker was initially developed in 2021 to address specific research-related needs but has rapidly grown in size, in line with the scope of our banking research. Its use cases have also evolved in line with campaigning activities, and researchers aim to update it on an ongoing basis (e.g. when a bank makes a new commitment). Maintaining the database mobilises significant resources and further developments are needed to unlock the intended efficiencies and economies of scale across various use cases. The database is currently hosted in Excel and we are exploring alternative database management systems. The Research Intern will primarily support this effort during a 12-month internship.
In close collaboration with banking researchers, the Research Intern will contribute to the following tasks:
- Streamlining the structure of our internalbanking tracker (currently in Excel) and data collection process to ensure updates are made in a consistent manner across banks and themes (e.g. decarbonisation targets, sector policies such as fossil fuel policies).
- Developing our banking tracker to include new research themes (e.g. green finance targets).
- Integrating our banking tracker into the research process for banking surveys, ensuring that data can feed into survey questionnaires and scoring sheets.
- Strengthening the environment and infrastructure of the database to address performance issues and minimise operational errors.
- Reviewing banks’ sustainability disclosures and updating the banking tracker accordingly.
We are keen for the Research Intern to get exposure to all areas of ShareAction’s banks workstream. Depending on the team needs, the intern might be asked to:
- Support the Senior Campaigns Officer review resolutions paperwork.
- Contribute to the development of research positions that will inform the contents of our next banking survey and the more systematic consideration of climate justice concerns into our work.

Be Kind to Your Mind (BK2YM) is a non-clinical, mental health and wellbeing offer delivered by HFEH MIND Youth Services. BK2YM’s non-clinical interventions and psychoeducation programme (Learn Well) offers a multitiered level of support:
- Preventative and early intervention for children and young people aged 5 – 25 through HFEH Mind Psychoeducation Workshops and assemblies.
- Training for school staff and other professionals.
- Therapeutic Arts intervention (x6 sessions) for students.

Key Responsibilities

Everyone’s ‘normal’ is different. Someone who is smoking crack or who is dependent on alcohol might have bodily functions that are different to what is ‘normal’ for the average person. People need to be aware of their own ‘normal’ so that they know when something is wrong.
The Health In-Reach Navigator will be working with the teams in hostels and day centres, going to the places where people live or go to access vital services like food and showers. Ideally, they will have their own first-hand experience of using or working in services supporting people around homelessness, substance misuse, mental health, poverty, asylum and immigration, or the criminal justice system.
Our services are co-produced by people with first-hand experience of the issues we are trying to address.
The Navigator should be comfortable with continuously evolving and adapting the service, tailoring it to the specific needs of the people we work with, developing sessions informed by direct feedback and direction from people living in hostels and using homelessness Day Centres.
Our Health Promotion Work
The Health Promotion Team:

Deliver group ‘in-reach’ sessions led by staff and volunteers with first-hand experience of homelessness, using health promotion resources to engage people with health issues and talk to them about options available.

Support clinical services going into hostels and day centres to deliver preventative health measures such as screening and vaccinations.

Co-produce and support the development of accessible health promotion resources about health services and health issues with people who have experienced homelessness that inform, advise, and help people manage their health.

Co-produce health and wellbeing resources for staff working within the homelessness sector, better equipping them to support the people who use their services and improve longer term health outcomes.

The group in-reach model enables people with similar experiences to come together and reflect on overcoming challenges. As a project based on Advocacy principals, we do not tell people what they should do; but encourage autonomy to make safe and realistic choices. We:

Meet with people to ask what their health priorities are and look at potential topics for upcoming sessions. These topics are then shared with the staff team from the hostel/day centre so they can feed in.

Draft an in-reach programme and plan dates, times, and promotion of sessions, involving staff teams at each site.

Organise and co-deliver 5-10 sessions on the priorities identified by people experiencing homelessness and the staff working with them

All sessions focus on residents’ voices being heard first, then Groundswell facilitated discussion supported and informed by Groundswell health promotion information and/or clinicians.
The Health Promotion team also work with a range of external partners around screening and preventive care.
We work with partners to arrange health events at homelessness services; promoting the sessions by talking to residents prior to teams visiting and supporting on the day to maximise uptake.
About HHPA
Our Health Promotion work sits alongside our Homeless Health Peer Advocacy (HHPA) Program. Groundswell created HHPA in Westminster in 2010, to support people experiencing homelessness to overcome multiple barriers preventing access to healthcare, initially through funding from the NHS Regional Innovation Fund. Since then, HHPA has since flourished into a multi award-winning service working across London.
Health creates a foundation to move out of homelessness. Groundswell’s person led health services enable people who are homeless to access the health care they need, so they are not disadvantaged by the health inequalities embedded in our systems. Our health work is delivered by a team where most people have their own experience of homelessness, shared experience builds up a level of trust when there can be mistrust of ‘professionals’, because of past trauma or negative experiences.
The service is delivered by volunteer Peer Advocates and staff Case Workers, who build trusting relationships with clients and support them to access, navigate and use healthcare services. They aim to increase people’s self-confidence and improve their ability to independently access the services they need, which can include everything from registering for a GP, dentistry treatment, mental health referrals, hospital appointments, and much more.
Groundswell is unique in bridging the divide between health and homelessness organisations. We work in partnership with numerous organisations across London to support the delivery of our peer advocacy service.

The Health In-Reach Navigator will be a vital member of our team, working collaboratively with various partners and agencies to deliver In-Reach sessions and connect individuals experiencing homelessness with essential healthcare services. The Ageing Well Functional Fitness MOT project is aimed at supporting mild to moderately frail residents of the Frognal area of Bexley with falls prevention, improvement of functional wellness and to provide signposting for sessions to enhance functional fitness within this defined area. About this key role
Our successful candidate will provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral and support service to young victims of violence, exploring innovative and effective ways of supporting them which will reduce their risk of re-victimisation. You will deliver an outreach service that includes advising and advocating on behalf of the young person and their family, providing practical support that will include setting up access to and helping each individual, following their discharge from hospital back into the community, to engage with specialist support services. In turn, helping them to navigate the impact that follows post peer on peer violence. This will include providing vital help with mental health and wellbeing, housing and social support, ETE, substance misuse, finance, benefits and debt.
You will also be expected to assess young victims of violence with reference to St Giles’ assessment practices and to produce support and risk management plans based on these assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, while developing and maintaining effective relationships with partner agencies is also an essential element of the role.
What we are looking for
• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families
• Substantial experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people and of assessing the needs of children and young people who are at risk of significant harm
• Experience of using support plans, to enable people to successfully access support services
• Proven experience of working in a high intensity environment and to manage effectively your own wellbeing
• A working knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written
• A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.
