The Role
The Philanthropy & Research Manager will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy to deliver on their ambitious strategy. This person will help cultivate a pipeline of ideas and manage a concentrated portfolio of philanthropic partnerships for the long-term. They will contribute to the portfolio by conducting deep, critical research in line with the inthallo’s unique approach and criteria. This will involve applying due diligence by prioritising qualitative factors and building purposeful relationships to deliver mutually beneficial engagement plans. The approach focuses on the identification of organisations with a unique, scalable offering and the potential to deliver transformational societal returns. In addition to this, this person will conduct sector specific or thematic research projects and share them with the wider team to contribute to the learning of the whole organisation.
The Person
We are looking for critical research ability, proven potential to grow, and an intellectually curious mindset. These traits are essential to success in this role, more so, than very specific backgrounds. Previous research experience in an analytical capacity is a definite a plus.
This person will have substantial experience (3-5 years) of working in environments such as philanthropy, either within grant making through family, corporate or independent foundations or possibly within the corporate or investment world where social impact and transformational change is the end goal. In this newly created role, you will play a central role in shaping the organisational approach to MEL, enabling ongoing reflection and adaptation to drive continuous improvement, and support the embedding of learning in relation to social care innovation and improvement across the charity.
The successful candidate will have significant MEL experience in the charitable sector, Health and Social Care, or Social Change space including both MEL delivery and capacity building and will have proven ability to shape, sustain and lead on MEL activity requiring collaboration with a range of different stakeholders, creating appropriately robust but flexible processes and structures. Reporting to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, the new Senior Policy and Public Affairs Manager will lead and advise on the delivery of global policy, public affairs and stakeholder engagement activities that champion the protection and support of workers. The postholder will develop and maintain relationships with key political and government stakeholders within the UK and Ireland, ensuring the organisation remains a credible, trusted, and impartial voice. The new Senior Policy and Public Affairs Manager will research, and facilitate the development, delivery and campaigning of, high-quality evidence-based policy positions, with an opportunity to influence and impact policy within the UK and Ireland and internationally.
To be successful, you will have an excellent understanding of UK & Irelands political environment, with experience collaborating with governments, parliament, international organisations, and civil society organisations. You will be an experienced networker who building relationships easily and have experience of working in advocacy/engagement, able to advocate for policy positions at various stakeholder engagements with clear, evidence-based positioning. You will have excellent research capabilities and use your findings to produce high-quality reports, with an ability to communicate and produce policy priorities. It is beneficial, but not a necessity to have knowledge or experience in occupational safety, or health and wellbeing.

We are recruiting a temporary finance officer for a human rights charity. You will need strong experience in finance working in month end tasks and reporting . The role is for 2 months +

The Role
Month-end tasks
Process supplier invoices and staff expenses and prepare weekly payment runs in Sage 50 Accounts software.
Send remittance advice to suppliers.
Import staff expenses transactions from Expense's into Sage and reconcile staff accounts to Purchase Ledger in Sage.
Reconcile supplier records within the Purchase Ledger ensuring it is accurate and up to date.
Working with the Database & Insights Officer, post monthly bank receipts and income journals to Sage 50.
Monthly reconciliation of bank, Stripe and PayPal accounts to bank statements.
Reconcile credit card statements monthly.
Prepare and post monthly prepayment journals to Sage.
Prepare monthly reconciliations of income in Sage against Fundraising figures, explaining any variances.
Prepare monthly cashflow statements for review by the Head of Finance.
Reporting
Support the Development team with Donor reporting.
Prepare monthly budget vs actual reports for project teams.
Produce Sage expenditure reports for the Development and Program teams upon request.
General
Monitor the Accounts Payable mailbox responding to emails and requests in a timely manner.
Support the HoF and Development team with any other ad hoc tasks as required.
The Candidate
Extensive experience working in Finance to officer or senior officer officer level
Reconciliation
Working experience with Sage50.
Qualified or Pursuing formal accounting qualifications.
Understanding of charity accounting
Strong IT skills

Person Specification:
· Degree level qualification or equivalent experience or Level 7 Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
· Significant relevant experience in Human Resources in a generalist role
· Experience working in the non-profit sector
· Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment
· Proficient use of HRIS to aid analysis of data and presentation of information
· Ability to assess risks appropriately and develop pragmatic solutions to mitigate the risk
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
