Job Purpose

To provide a high-quality outreach support service that enables older adults with low level support needs to live independently within the community.

To a promote network services across the Boroughs to maximise their take-up.

To work closely with statutory and voluntary sector agencies to ensure appropriate services are accessed.

To ensure that service users have maximum choice and control over the planning and management of the service they receive, including initiating individual support plans and connecting them with culturally appropriate services.
Key Tasks

To signpost people to appropriate services as required through outreach sessions in the Hub, Satellite centres, GP practices and pharmacies.

To develop shared working practices across the service network.

To work with existing activity groups at the hub and satellite centres and support the setting up of activities where appropriate.

What you will be doing:

The London Domestic Abuse Advise Service provides support to address the risk of customers who are already involved with Look Ahead services. Customers are referred from all four specialisms of the organisation; Young People; Homelessness; Mental Health; and Learning Disabilities.
The role of an IDVA is to address the safety of victims and survivors of domestic abuse using DASH RIC and Individual Safety and Support Plans and represent the needs and values of each victim/survivor to external services. We take a trauma-informed and person-centred approach.
The post holder will be required to work alongside Look Ahead key workers and staff to support customers with complex needs are being supported by Look Ahead.
The post is restricted to females only due to the nature of the role. The occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

About this key role

We champion the role and contribution of the voluntary sector, listen and learn with charities to understand what helps or hinders them and influence changes in practice within foundations and public agencies.
You'll have an interest in our work – helping individuals and organisations in the voluntary sector to achieve change; and a strong understanding and experience of using qualitative research methodology, ideally including experience of action research, facilitation and evaluation design alongside an understanding of quantitative methods. You’ll have experience of leading, managing and contributing to all stages of the research process (including writing in an accessible and engaging manner for different audiences); be confident in leading a portfolio of varied projects; have experience of line management and working in a senior leadership team; and be comfortable working in a small organisation with wide-ranging responsibilities.
Main responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and shaping the research project portfolio to ensure quality delivery and alignment with IVAR’s strategic priorities.
- Leading, supervising and guiding the research team, including supporting Project Managers to deliver high quality research; monthly research team meetings; and continuous professional development of research staff.
- Being a member of project delivery teams.
- Monitoring project budgets and progress against income targets.
- Ensuring IVAR meets its responsibilities in terms of research ethics and safeguarding and that our research practice is equitable and inclusive.
- Maintaining and developing a network that supports a healthy project pipeline of new work, including relationships with delivery partners who can complement and enhance IVAR’s offer.
- Leading project design and proposals for commissioned work.
- Leading the identification, assessment and response to tender opportunities.
- Being part of the Senior Leadership Team, which includes ensuring an integrated approach to research and communications and the quality of all written outputs; participating in IVAR meetings and events (including quarterly Board meetings); planning and delivering monthly team days; contributing to the development of internal systems/processes; developing organisational culture; developing and promoting IVAR’s public profile and influence.

At an exciting time of growth, they are now recruiting for temporary Telephone Fundraisers to join their team, on an ongoing basis.
As a Telephone Fundraiser, you will represent a range of charities and non-profits over the phone. You will call across supporter acquisition, welcome calls, cross-sell, membership, legacy fundraising campaigns and more. You will be speaking with existing supporters who have previously donated or shown an interest in supporting the charities work, no ‘cold calling’ and will be making a strong fundraising ask on a charity’s behalf.
To be considered for this role, you will have strong background in a sales-based role, interpersonal skills transferable to telephone conversations, a confident and clear speaking voice, and the ability to follow a structure (call guide). You will also be resilient, able to handle objection, empathic and have the ability to perform to a target based working environment.
This is fully remote role, with a choice of working hours between 17.5 – 35 hours per week, shift patterns include afternoon and evenings, 12:00-4:00pm or 4:00- 8:30pm. Please only apply if you are available to start ASAP or have no more than a 1 weeks’ notice period.
