Role
Rowan Alba works to end homelessness in Edinburgh by providing permanent supported homes and building relationships with individuals in crisis. We also work in our communities with volunteers who provide vital support to the most vulnerable in an attempt to prevent homelessness. Our experience lends itself to exemplar training programmes aimed at helping employers understand conditions around addictions.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident communicator for the new role of Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager to increase awareness of our work and develop new funding streams from individual, community and corporate partnerships.

You will be a creative, organised and motivated individual with a positive track record in working independently to develop corporate and community funder relationships.

Working alongside our Communications Manager, Trusts and Grants Fundraising Manager and Leadership Team you will develop an engagement strategy to help increase awareness of our work and raise vital funds to support our organisational development including the creation of new permanent homes for individuals with long-term experience of homelessness.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing corporate partners
• Developing opportunities to deliver training to corporate staff and organising volunteering activities
• Working with staff and volunteers to develop and implement community fundraising opportunities including sponsorship activities and local events
• Organising events for key stakeholders to increase Rowan Alba profile
• Managing relevant KPIs and appropriate CRM system for all individual and corporate funder communication and outcomes
• Ensuring the organisation adheres to the codes of fundraising practice set by the Fundraising Regulator

Core competencies

• Experience in relationship building and delivering long term funding support from a variety of sources
• Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills
• Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently, and with a small core team
• Experience of event organisation and management including working with volunteers
• Administrative skills and experience in use of appropriate CRM solutions, cloud-based platforms such as SharePoint, Zoom, Teams
• Demonstrate respect and compassion to the people we work with and represent Rowan Alba positively and professionally at all times

FP&A Manager | London | Interim | £300 - £350 per day (Umbrella), 4 months +

For a leading UK charity, we're recruiting an Interim FP&A Manager for at least 4 months. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Interim FP&A Manager will support the charity in providing first-class financial planning and analysis support, lead on the reporting of restricted funds, coordinate the production of management accounts, and business partner the Transformation Team and CEO.

What you'll be doing:

• Production of insightful monthly management accounts and consolidated reporting, partnering with, and challenging, budget holders to understand variances whilst producing meaningful MI to enable leadership to make informed decisions
• Forge a strong business partnering service, working closely with the operations team, the Strategy, Digital and Transformation directorate as well as the Finance and Commercial and Chief Executive Office.
• Play a lead role in Transformation projects, partnering the Project teams and Head of Transformation to provide finance support
• Review budgets for all submissions for Restricted Funded grants and other fundraising bids
• Review financial reports for all projects from restricted funds
• Lead the annual budget production and quarterly updates to year-end forecasts for all restricted funding sources in collaboration with Head of Finance and Finance and Commercial Director

What you'll offer:

• CCAB qualified / part-qualified with experience of FP&A, including annual budgeting and medium and long-term planning
• Strong experience within the charity sector, particularly around restricted funds
• A track-record of producing insightful management information, monthly management accounts and financial modelling
• Experience of driving the production of insightful decision-making analysis as well as the ability to support the delivery of strategic objectives
• Ability to work from the central London office at least 2-days per week.

The Assistant Housing Manager reports to the Housing Manager to support the delivery of operational efficiency across the Company's six residential sites and services for 206 residents, including leasehold.  The role will provide excellent customer service to our residents and work to ensure that each site is safe, secure and compliant with regulatory requirements.  The AHM will support the development and implementation of new systems and processes and provide guidance on Housing policies and procedures.  This role will work closely with the finance team to manage rental income and invoice payment.

The role holder will deputise in the absence of the Housing Manager.

The successful candidate will excel in communication and organisation, displaying a high level of professionalism while effectively building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders. A strong team player, who enjoys and varied role and possess the ability to use their initiative. Proficiency in IT and database management is essential, alongside exceptional customer service skills.

While experience in property management and knowledge of housing benefits are preferred, they are not essential. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Our client, a leading London university is looking to appoint a temporary Systems Administrator, to provide general ledger systems administration, including cost centres and hierarchies, and other standing data for their finance system, SunAccounts.

This is a full time hybrid role, with 2 days on site, running for 6-8 weeks in the first instance.

• Set-up and maintain expenses user accounts on the expenses management system and related creditor accounts on the core finance system.
• Maintain and create new staff user accounts and set access permissions on the procure-to-pay system.

38% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.

Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children. 

We are seeking a part-time Early Literacy Interventionist (ELI), based at Galleywall Primary School in Southwark, South London. This ELI role, reporting to the Schools Development Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.

For your caseload of target children, you will conduct an initial baseline assessment and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.
