Young Lives vs Cancer (YLvC) help families to find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them.
Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham working in partnership with the national charity YLvC delivers a pioneering project via multi channels (telephone/email/web) providing advice to families of young people affected by cancer.
The project is expanding and we are recruiting a Welfare Rights Benefits Adviser and a Housing Adviser.
The project requires dynamic advisers who can sensitively, engage with families in an often difficult time. The team work within Cats Protection to identify issues and provide technical solutions, utilizing both off the shelf products or in-house developed solutions as required. Internal solutions are built using a range of technologies focused around the Azure Stack, including low code/no code solutions, the Power platform, T-SQL and other technologies as required.
Responsibilities of our Power BI Developer:
As a Power BI Developer you will be working with a number of departments within Cats Protection to understand their data and reporting requirements. You will need to identify any quality issues with their data, as well as work with the departments on how best to resolve historic data issues and improve processes to ensure future data is captured to a high standard. The data will then need to be moved in to our Power BI platform where you will create user friendly and accurate reports to show this data.
Current projects include:
- Supporting existing reports and dashboards for Neutering Finance to track processing times and backlog
- Building a number of reports for our Volunteering teams to track foster home inspections, volunteer availability, and surveys of the volunteers

People Team Advisor
Job Role:
We need an exceptional People Team Advisor. This is a key post in supporting the management and staff of the FEC. - Provide and Support Administrator in the management information reports relating to HR, for example absence data, annual leave allowances, training compliance etc.
- Work with team managers to ensure all information (e.g., jobs descriptions, working hours and patterns, etc.) is consistent and up to date.
- Support Head of People in the development of HR policies, Rewards/Benefits, and other HR related projects, as requested.
- Input, maintenance, and provision of all HR data held within the HR Management System (PeopleHR) ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
- Maintain the People Team cloud-based e-filing system to ensure documents and information are retained and easy to locate.
- Initiate and co-ordinate progress of all mandatory staff training (in accordance with the training matrix) reporting compliance issues to managers.
- Be prepared to support all HR Administrator activities during periods of absence.
- Working alongside People Administrator and supporting the Head of People and site leadership team driving the delivery of the people agenda across the organization.

Essential Competencies:
- Previous experience of working in a fast-paced HR team, providing first level advice on HR policies and procedures, employment law and employee relations issues.
- Be up to date with current employment law.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills, with a good foundation in HR theory.
- The ability to multitask and deal with a range of incoming enquiries – organisation is key to the success of this role.
- Ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions.
- Excellent IT skills specifically HR Management Systems and MS Office applications; particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

Main duties include:

This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.
In this role you will have opportunity to design and deliver innovative youth support programmes, groups & other activities; provide LGBTQ+ affirmative support, guidance and mentoring on a one- to- one basis; work with our wider family work programme, support families with LGBTQ+ children and deliver work in schools to students & teaching staff.
You will have lead responsibility for our LGBTQ+ Young Peoples Service, including promotion, & administration, along with the induction, support & supervision of sessional staff & volunteers.
Initially you will be working remotely via home-based working whilst elop relocates its offices & centre transitioning back to fulltime in-person working & service provision during 2024. Some services are in person in East London.
Full Time: 37 hours per week
You must be available to work Tuesday evenings & once a month on a Sunday afternoon. There will be other evenings and occasional other weekend working required.
