DOTWUK have a fun and friendly finance team in a small, but high-performing function and are looking for a collaborative, experienced and energetic leader for the role of Head of Finance.
In this exciting role, the successful candidate will provide the organisation with a timely, accurate and relevant financial management service by assuming day-to-day responsibility for the organisation’s accounting function, to enable the senior management team and the Board of Trustees to assess results and performance and make informed, strategic decisions, and ensure the organisation complies with statutory and corporate regulation and requirements.
You will work closely with the treasurer, directors and managers to enable them to manage their programme finances and support them to report to donors and to devise sound plans for growth and sustainability.
The UK chapter expects to grow income across all sources, including from institutions and foundations. You will play a critical role in maintaining and building on this success.
You will also be responsible for and provide input from a financial and management perspective on strategic development and the general organisation-wide structure and management as part of the Senior Management Team.

A National Museum renowned for housing once of the finest arts collections in the world is currently seeking an Interim Financial Controller to join the team for an initial 6 month period.
Reporting into the Director of Finance & Resources, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the organisation and is the first point of contract for internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and time financial reporting and produce monthly management accounts.
Duties will include the following:
- Preparation of all routine and ad hoc reports drawn from accounting records
- Production of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
- Monthly reports for all budget holders
- Coding of all self-generated income, ensuring that recognition complies with the relevant accounting standards
- Maintenance of the Fixed Asset register (reconciliation performed annually as part of the year end process)
- Payroll reconciliation (payroll is performed by an external third party provider)
- Preparation of the annual budget and periodic reforecasts of budget throughout the year

- Regular monitoring of bank accounts and working capital

About the Role:
We are offering a unique opportunity for motivated and analytical individual to join WaterAid as a Finance Apprentice, joining a cohort of other apprentices across WaterAid. Our rotational 3-year scheme will offer applicant training and development across various finance aspects across both management and financial accounting within the UK and Internationally. The Senior Finance Officer will sit at the heart of our Operations Team, reporting to the Head of Operations and the Co-CEOs and playing a crucial function in ensuring the efficient day-to-day management of the organisation’s financial functions.
This will include all day-to-day management of our financial systems and banking, including our accountancy software (Quickbooks) and our internal financial spreadsheets. This involves recording and tracking the income expected from funders, processing invoices and payments, preparing payroll and producing monthly reconciliations and termly budgets. This role will provide high quality financial information and analysis to senior managers and external stakeholders supporting decision-making. This is a highly commercial role, which is key in ensuring service quality is maximised, and financial performance targets are achieved. The Senior Finance Manager will lead a team of 4 and will suit someone happy to work fully remotely whilst developing excellent relationships across a large, multi-location organisation.
Main Duties:
- Budgeting and Cost Control - Lead divisional budget setting and forecasting process
- Coordinate monthly key variance summary in financial performance and KPIs for senior management
- Interpret and present complex financial information to non-finance managers, supporting decision-making and improvements to budget and forecast performance
- Financial Reporting - Maintain robust financial controls across the division and coordinate the audit process with the financial reporting team. Preparation of year end accounts, liaising with auditors

My client is a major brand in the international development sector, fighting for human rights. They are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to support the financial reporting team. Overseeing a team of 5 you will oversee the processing of income and expenditure as well as advising stakeholders across the business on taxation and other technical issues.
Key areas of responsibilities;
- Responsible for the processing of financial information and production of statutory accounts, VAT returns and any other regulatory returns
- Be a key point of contact for the external auditors, leading the audit planning process and take lead responsibility for following up on any audit management letter points
- Manage financial processes and the control environment.
- Oversee the control environment, and processing of all income and expenditure, maximising efficiency, and maintaining the integrity of all financial data
- Maintain strong and continual lines of communication with all budget holders, to ensure financial policy and procedures are adhered to and that the necessary information is received to meet multiple governance and statutory reporting deadlines
- Management of robust and adhered to timelines for monthly period closure and year-end processes to enable the reporting staff to produce timely forecasts and financial plans.

The main responsibilities of the interim Finance Business Partner are:
