Finance Director
Green Templeton is a friendly, progressive and international graduate college within the University of Oxford. Formed through the merger of Green and Templeton colleges in 2008, it is a distinctive community that makes new traditions rather than defending existing ones. The college brings together 650 students, 250 fellows and 90 staff. It has an inclusive, egalitarian and collaborative culture.
Green Templeton is now looking to appoint a Finance Director. Reporting to the Bursar and working closely with the Principal and other members of the Executive Management Group, the postholder will play a critical role in shaping the college’s long-term financial strategy and operations. They will support ambitious capital projects and undertake long-term financial forecasting, scenario modelling, and variance analysis. As the college’s senior financial adviser, they will support the Executive Management Group and Governing Body in setting and delivering the college’s strategic financial plan. They will provide leadership and guidance to the finance team.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with excellent knowledge of FRS102 and familiarity with the Charities SORP. They will bring outstanding people skills with a service ethos, and will be an empathetic leader with a collegial decision-making approach. Experience of finance in higher education, Oxford or Cambridge colleges, charities or the public sector would be helpful; the college welcomes candidates from a broad range of backgrounds.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of an ambitious Oxford college.
