Head of Philanthropy (maternity Cover)

Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a charity to recruit for the Head of Philanthropy on a maternity cover basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced philanthropy fundraiser to lead and develop a high performing programme encompassing Major Donors, Trusts & Foundations and Mid Value Donors, helping to grow income and strengthen long term supporter relationships.

Philanthropy is a significant contributor to the charity's overall income, encompassing Trusts & Foundations, Major Donors and Mid Value Donors.

As Head of Philanthropy, you will provide strategic leadership across the programme, building on existing successes while identifying new opportunities for growth.

A key focus will be on re engaging lapsed donors, developing a strong pipeline of new prospects and further strengthening the Mid Value programme to cultivate future Major Donors.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate and develop the Philanthropy team, creating a supportive, ambitious and high performing culture.
• Lead the development of strong, long term relationships with Major Donors and Trusts & Foundations
• Manage and develop a portfolio of high value donors and prospects.
• Identify opportunities to re engage lapsed donors and develop new donor relationships.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced and successful in Major Donor fundraising, ideally with Trust fundraising experience.
• An effective and inspiring people manager.
• Experienced in developing donor pipelines and growing income.
• A confident and compelling communicator, both verbally and in writing.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable managing budgets, KPIs and financial reporting.
• Collaborative and able to build strong relationships across an organisation.
• Proactive, creative and confident in identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
• Calm under pressure, adaptable and able to manage competing demands.
• Committed to delivering an excellent supporter experience.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £50,000- £55,000 per annum
• Contract type: 12 months FTC, full time, 37.5 hrs a week
• Location: North London, hybrid working
• Deadline: On rolling basis
