Harris Hill has an exciting opportunity for an Marketing and Communications Planner to join an international children's charity for 2-3 months on a temporary basis. 

 

This role is hybrid based with 1dpw in their London office. There may be some flexibility on this for the right person. 

 

The role is hourly paid, paid weekly (£45k equivalent) plus holiday pay. The ideal candidate would have either a Communications Planner background from an agency side or a Marketing campaigns manager from other areas. Further details below.

 

As a Communications Planner, you are responsible for ensuring their external voice is coherent, optimised, and unified. Sitting in the Strategic Communications Team, you play a key role in ensuring their Public Engagement directorate, Advocacy and Partnerships & Philanthropy teams focus on the right activities in the right way to meet objectives. This role ensures they have the right communications plans, performance monitoring and coordination across the organisation to achieve outcomes for children. Working closely with the Insight team, this role champions the use of insight to ensure it is at the heart of all decision making.

Knowledge and skills needed
Has a good understanding of marketing communications theory, and the intuition to land on the best approach to a given situation.
Comfortable writing high level strategic briefs, as well as identifying the data and insights needed to support them.
Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and working knowledge of when and how to apply them to a given business or communications challenge; knows how to brief internal and external researchers.
Ability to work across different groups and disciplines, and has sound judgement in pushing the work, elevating the ambition of communications, and supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver outputs that are ‘on’ strategy.
Understands the creative process and is a valued partner to the creative teams.
Excellent stakeholder and programme management skills to optimise the use of resources
Able to build and maintain credibility and trust at all levels of the organisation
