Harris Hill is searching for a Development Officer for around 3 months to cover a leaver and recruitment period
This role will be hybrid based with 1- 2dpw in their Surrey office in Cobham.
We are looking for someone that can pick up on office admin, meet and greet for visiting alumni that would like a tour of campus, database support, support for the events we have coming up over the summer (admin support for RSVPS, event logistics and attendance in person):
Dates are:
Saturday 25th May
Friday 31st May 5pm – 8pm
Friday 21st June 5.30pm – 9pm
Saturday 22nd June 12noon – 5pm
More details can be provided but the above is the main focus for the interim period.

Job title: Philanthropy Officer
Location: Cobham, Surrey twice a week
Grade and salary: Up to £28,000
Hours: Full time/ flexible hour options
Contract type: Permanent
This role will support the Director of Development & External Relations to develop new philanthropic relationships to ensure successful solicitation of major gifts, repeat gifts and increased value gifts. This is a great role for someone wanting to step into fundraising from a different sector who is great at research/ writing/ building relationships.
What the Philanthropy Officer will do:
- This role will qualify and identify major donors and also research potential family foundations and certain trusts.
- Will support the DoD with due diligence tasks and general reporting
- Build relationships up internally and externally with stakeholders.
Ideally the Philanthropy Officer will have experience of:
- Demonstrable experience in prospect research, major gift fundraising or prospect pipeline
- management.
- Experience of researching and qualifying potential donors and of supporting fundraisers in creating prospect pipelines and cultivation strategies.
- Knowledge of prospect research methods and data sources as well as donors’ needs and
Motivations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Extensive investigative, research and analytical skills.

As Trusts and Foundations Manager you will be working with the Director of Business Development and Partnerships to develop a strategy to build the income stream from trusts, foundations, and government grants. You will expand on the pipeline of trusts, foundations and government funding opportunities which align to their strategy, prioritising as relevant and building relationships for short and long-term funding opportunities. You will be working collaboratively across the organisation to ensure consistency, accuracy and impact when creating funding proposals for strategic focus areas. You will also provide excellent account management to grant funders, working closely with programme teams to ensure KPIs are met, positioning the organsiation for future funding opportunities.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Experience of identifying, securing and delivering grant-funding from trusts, foundations and/or government.
- Good understanding of the grant-giving environment, with the ability to quickly identify the spaces and conversations your organisation should be engaging in.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to condense detailed information and present it in a compelling and persuasive way for a variety of audiences.
- Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport, understand, and respond to the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
