My client is a small London-based charity.
Your new role
My role is Finance Officer on a 12-month contract basis. The role will be based full time in the office during the probationary period, moving to 3 days in the office after that. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and in a timely manner.
- Process purchase invoices and ensure accurate coding, authorisation and timely payment to suppliers. Invoices downloaded/requested, authorised and coded for all direct debit payments and for credit card payments.
- Prepare fortnightly supplier payment runs and process payments in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Process ad hoc manual payment and ensure authorisation and coding are financial records are maintained for audit purposes.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
- Assist with the management of grant payments, ensuring payments are made in line with approved budgets, cashflow requirements and forecasts.
- Manage the finance inbox and respond to internal and external queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Post other month-end journals
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Perform monthly debtor, creditor and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances where appropriate.
- Reconcile supplier statements
What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed, you will need previous experience in finance, as well as knowledge of financial software and Excel. If you were studying for the AAT qualification, this would also be beneficial.
