Blue Light Card Foundation is seeking an experienced and innovative Charity Chief Executive Officer who's passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the blue light community by developing the charity’s strategy, to enable it to grow and flourish in supporting its mission.

What You’ll Do  

• Develop and implement strong strategic plans and put these into action in a scalable and sustainable way 

• Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by actively engaging in mentoring initiatives, empowering colleagues to reach their full potential, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and professional development 

• Create strategic relationships, collaborative partnerships outside the charity and act as an ambassador and advocate for Blue Light Card Foundation 

• Represent Blue Light Card Foundation at senior meetings within the blue light sector 

• Oversee and implement recruitment, selection, training, development and performance management of colleagues 

• Monitor the effectiveness of Blue Light Card Foundation’s work in making a difference and implement change in response to feedback and data 

• Ensure the health and safety and safeguarding of the blue light community is supported by Blue Light Card Foundation programmes 

• Ensure that Trustees are kept well-informed of key developments in Blue Light Card Foundation and provided with sufficient financial and management information to enable them to exercise their statutory responsibilities 

• Manage the charity budget and produce regular financial reports and forecasts

• Implement sound, sustainable funding plans, oversee fundraising activities ensuring these meet the needs of the foundation 

• Develop and implement integrated campaigns, effective marketing channels and media strategy, reporting on impact and raising the charity presence and profile

• Ensure full and accurate reporting including the preparation of an annual report and financial statements to the Charity Commission 

What You’ll Bring  

• Senior leadership experience within the charity sector including leading teams in demanding public-facing roles 

• Experience of growing and managing charity programmes, strong governance skills, communications, events and fundraising oversight 

• Experience of developing strong external public relationships promoting and representing an organisation 

• Experience securing funds and working with funding partners and knowledge of funding methodology and related financial issues 

• Grant management and grant making decisions and oversight

• An understanding of the key measures of financial management and control in a challenging environment 

• Strategic thinking with sound strategic planning, ability to articulate a clear vision and a track record of achieving targets 

• Strong stakeholder management skills and a management style which encourages, motivates, inspires, supports, and develops colleagues 

• Commitment to relevant legislation and good practice in relation to equality and diversity and safeguarding and promoting good mental health and wellbeing in the blue light sector 

• Experience within the blue light sector would be an advantage

About the Role 

The ideal candidate will provide excellent administrative and operational support to the Philanthropy team, including specific well-written copy for fundraising collateral, engaging thank you letters, impactful cases for support.

Identify, generate, develop and grow a portfolio of major donors, contributing to an agreed income target.

Your role will be varied, responsible for supporting the Philanthropy team to generate, develop and grow income from a portfolio of major donors through positive and impactful relationships and excellent stewardship. You will be a team player, able to efficiently manage and prioritise your time.

Income Supervisor

Do you have accounting experience and the ability to support and supervise a small team? Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint an Income Supervisor to lead and coordinate the Income team within our Finance Department.

The main responsibilities are to:

• Supervise a small income team and volunteers.
• Manage, control, analyse and reconcile income onto the financial ledger and the donor database.
• Manage the entry of all direct bank receipts and income from online giving platforms, including set up and monitoring all standing orders and associated bank reconciliation.
• Oversee weekly cash counts for banking via G4S security.
• Act as the main point of contact with the finance department for all retail operations staff and ensure all retail shop income is recorded correctly and reconciles to the retail system.
• Be the main point of contact and information for all income issues, liaising with other departments as required.
• Manage the Gift Aid declaration process including the correct entry on donor database and the scanning process.

The successful candidate will have:

• AAT level 4 / MAAT or be qualified by experience to this level.
• A detailed knowledge of financial accounting and double entry bookkeeping.
• Experience of complex reconciliations of high-volume transactional data.
• Proven experience of implementing & managing strong financial controls.
• Familiarity with accounting in charity sector and gift aid welcomed.
• Experience of operating specialised accounting systems – PT uses Microsoft Business Central.
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, basic pivot, SUMIFS, conditional formatting and similar)
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.
• Strong planning, organisational and flexibility skills.
• Some experience of leading a team (staff & volunteers).

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Campaign Management

· Plan, manage and deliver successful campaigns across a range of channels including face-to-face, digital and print.

· Successful management of fundraising agencies and suppliers; ensuring relationships are effective and productive.

· Deliver motivational fundraiser training and develop engaging fundraiser materials with agency stakeholders to ensure high-quality fundraising.

· Ensure compliance and adherence to regulation and codes of practice is considered in all campaign activities, to include mystery shopping and call listening.

· Work closely with Data and Digital teams to ensure effective processes are worked to and full campaign evaluation is possible.

· Donation page monitoring, reporting and development, to include looking at ways in which to improve the donor’s online user journey.

· Continuous improvement through test and learn principles across all activities.

· Integration of campaigns across the charity to drive maximum value.

· Development of compelling communications and materials to support all activities.

Planning and Budgeting

· KPI tracking, trend analysis and interrogation of results at all levels.

· Live programme optimisation to ensure targets are met.

· Input to annual planning and development of individual giving campaigns.

· Assist Direct Marketing Manager with compilation of detailed income and expenditure campaign budgets.

· Work with Direct Marketing Manager in developing the Acquisition programme and strategy.

· Input to monthly forecasting and regular reporting across a range of financial and non-financial KPI’s.

Finance and Reporting

· Ensure daily campaign tracking and reporting.

· Routine end of campaign reviews and analysis.

· Ongoing reporting on long-term success measures such as attrition and ROI.

· Invoice reconciliation and processing for timely payment.

· Non-financial KPI trend reporting - such as opt-in rates and quality scoring.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

About us:

Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and to their friends, families and carers. Our projects empower ostomates to return to sports, hobbies and other activities after their surgery and give them the confidence to take on fresh challenges. We advocate for ostomates’ rights and are their voice on the bigger issues. Our campaigns raise awareness of ‘life with a stoma’ and encourage organisations to make their facilities more inclusive.

About the role:

As the Volunteers and Support Administrator you will provide efficient administration to our support services and volunteer team. You will also undertake any admin duties involved with running the Colostomy UK office and support other members of the team. You will be answering and re-directing incoming calls on our stoma helpline. You won’t be providing support to callers; however you will need to have an empathetic approach whilst explaining that you will arrange a support call back from one of our volunteers. You will action calls that come through on our admin line and manage our central email inbox, ensuring requests are actioned promptly. You will organise volunteer rotas, help with onboarding our volunteers and organise incoming and outgoing post. The postholder will take minutes at meetings, ensure the office is kept tidy and co-ordinate stock delivery for events and exhibitions.

Our Helpline runs from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, warm and experienced individual to support our dedicated Helpline Volunteers and Befriending Volunteers within the Helpline team.

This role requires working flexible hours, including 9am–5pm, 10am–6pm or 11am–7pm between Monday to Friday to meet services and volunteer needs (3 days a week).

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve daily and weekly scheduling of income processing tasks, addressing complex queries while providing an excellent supporter care service, and managing Gift Aid claims efficiently.

You'll also be instrumental in providing training to others on the claims process, spotting any discrepancies, and collaborating with other fundraising teams to optimise Gift Aid claims.

In addition to your Gift Aid responsibilities, you'll process income and data onto our database, maintaining high standards of accuracy and consistency. All income will be added and coded with accuracy and consistency.

We have a very exciting opportunity for anyone who enjoys working on the front-line of patient support across the Gloucester region.

This role will deliver Kidney Care UK’s Patient Support and Advocacy service in the region. This varied role deals with every aspect of a patient’s life that supports better outcomes: welfare benefits, practical, emotional and social support. As well as directly supporting patients, you will raise awareness of the wide range of local and national resources available to kidney patients, and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other stakeholder groups in the region.

Based at home (laptop and mobile phone provided), you will be expected to travel independently across the Gloucester area and manage your own caseload with the support of your line manager and other members of our national friendly, committed team.

We’ll provide the training, you’ll bring enthusiasm and your experience of working with chronically ill patients in a social, care or health role.
