Tinnitus UK is the only registered charity in the UK supporting the one in seven adults who have tinnitus!  The charity has recently renamed and rebranded.  All part of the ambitious plans fo the charity to raise its profile and relevance even further, to reach and help more people than ever.  We are looking for a Fundraising and Events Administrator to provide administrative and operational support to the Fundraising Managers (Corporate, Major Donor, Legacy, Individual Membership, Trusts & Foundations) and to the Head of Services by administering donor and supporter records and assisting with events and general operational duties.

Main Responsibilities

Fundraising General (65%)

• Organizing and maintaining membership and donation data in the CRM database (Donorfy)
• First point of contact for supporter enquiries (email/phone)
• Taking telephone donations when required
• Flagging contact/donations to relevant team members
• Printing and posting thank you letters for offline donors

Events (20%)

• Monitor the events@inbox
• Monitor event bookings and process invoices as required
• Liaise with speakers, attendees and sponsors as appropriate

• Ensure website and Eventbrite accurately reflect current and coming events are upto date including event details.

General (10%)

• Monitor Tinnitus UK email info@ inbox responding to emails or directing to colleagues as necessary
• Stationery and mailroom stock checks and replenishing of stock as required
• Assist the Office Manager with office administrative tasks
• Work across the Tinnitus UK team and assist in all areas of work
• Attend internal and external meetings, events and training
• Assist the office manager with bookings of meetings/conference venues for Trustee Board and other meetings/training days
• Organise travel and accommodation as and when required
• Undertake training (In-house and external) as required
• Be flexible and carry out associated duties that may arise, develop, or be assigned in line with the broad remit of the post

Stewardship (5%)

• Provide a basic level of stewardship to event fundraisers - (thanking, providing publicity materials, passing stories to communications colleagues)
• Administering JustGiving and other fundraising platforms

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

• Good basic education to GCSE standard or equivalent (GCSE grade C or equivalent in Maths and English)
• Entitled to live and work in the UK
• Experience of database administration (CRM desirable)
• Fundraising admin and stewardship

• Handling phone, digital and postal enquiries
• Experience of using a number of different IT systems including Microsoft Office 365 - such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word & Powerpoint

The purpose of the Senior Direct Marketing Officer’s role is to deliver and evolve the acquisition and retention strategy, inspiring the people of London to become long-term supporters of the Charity.

Working closely with the Senior Direct Marketing Manager, you will manage campaign activity, from briefing through to execution, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement within the programme, particularly with regards to retention and delivery of the supporter journey.

About the role
This is a new role for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity as we look to expand our successful Individual Giving & Lottery programmes.

The post holder will deliver quality fundraising campaigns, including Cash Appeals, Regular Giving and Lottery that will grow income, supporter base and lifetime value. We will need you to support the development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy, with focus on individual giving, legacies and grants.  You will have a track record of engaging with stakeholders and be able to develop a strategy for increasing income through individual giving.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team and lead our fundraising efforts. This is a key role in ensuring we have the resources to continue providing vital support to survivors of torture and human rights violations. As the Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, building relationships with key donors, and exceeding fundraising goals. We are predominantly funded by Trusts and Foundations and you will play a very important role in maintaining and expanding this funder base, as well as helping Room to Heal to diversify our income streams.

An interesting candidate would be someone with

• A deep understanding of the global philanthropic landscape and strong in-depth knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in at least 3-4 countries (US, UK landscape is vital and knowledge of additional markets (Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands or Sweden) highly regarded) with some focus on prospect research experience in developing markets.
• Master’s degree or equivalent with a Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience in prospect research experience or a strong equivalent (eg other roles within fundraising) for international NGOs, scientific organisations or organizations with global public health relevance. Some experience with medical research or neglected tropical diseases would be highly regarded.
• Someone who is driven and able to work effectively in a remote team environment and matrix structure

Key responsibilities
Research and process management

• Grow and maintain a strong Trust funding pipeline, creating new Trust prospects for our priority funding areas
• Develop our long-term Trusts and Foundations strategy, and agree ongoing budgets and targets for this income stream
• Maintain accurate records including tracking and analysing opportunities, results, and outcomes

Fundraising
• Identify and manage a pipeline of high-value prospects and opportunities which have the potential of delivering five and six figure grants
• Work with colleagues across Kidney Care UK to develop and submit high-value and high-quality Trust and Foundation bids for a range short, medium and long term projects
• Develop relationships with the Senior Management Team and other key stakeholders across the charity maximising every opportunity for cultivation and development
• Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view Kidney Care UK’s work first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met.

Reporting
• Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support
• Alongside the Director of Finance prepare accurate budgets detailing spending of specific grants
• Draw down on any multi-year grants as outlined in our annual budget
• Provide briefing notes and income pipeline on donor activities and potential funding opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

Leadership, Strategy and Governance

• To be an active member of the Made in Hackney Senior Leadership Team, working together to galvanise the organisation behind our strategic plan.
• To contribute to strategic discussions on the future direction of the organisation.

• To develop and execute an annual fundraising strategy: building a sustainable portfolio consisting of grants and donations from individuals, corporates, trusts and foundations, to ensure long-term sustainable funding of activities.
• To research and prospect future funders.
• To maintain precise and up-to-date records on current and potential supporters and prospects.
• To create engaging fundraising communication tools.
• To establish partnerships for joint programmes and funding bids where beneficial.

Donor stewardship & reporting

• To retain current donors and maximise fundraising opportunities, including delivering a programme of appropriate stewardship opportunities with the core team.
• To work with the team to co-design programmes and their evaluation requirements to ensure the organisation meets the grant funders' requirements. 
• To complete reporting to grant funders, including developing report templates, creating reports, case studies, and other administrative requirements. 

Communications

• To input into MIH’S communications strategy and the planning and implementation of improvements to marketing plans, digital presence and social media strategy to ensure impact and fundraising successes are communicated
• To maintain a stock of impact-focused case studies and success stories and ensure fundraising successes are communicated on social media and online.
• To ensure the robust monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and campaigns; providing key input to the annual report and impact report.
• To coordinate fundraising events with the Community Partnerships Manager. 

Line Management

• To have direct line management responsibility for the Community Partnerships Manager and Social Media & Marketing Manager, creating a supportive environment for growth and development.

Salary: £33,926 per annum (5 days)

Contract: Full or Part time available 4 or 5 days 

Location: Hybrid. The post holder will be contractually based at Hospice House,Kings cross London. This role is eligible for the Hospice UK Hybrid Working Arrangement from the start of employment.

Our office is a short walk from King’s Cross station in London. For this role, we need someone to come into the office at least one day a week, on a Tuesday. A day where all of Income Generation come into the office. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time. We encourage all colleagues to visit member hospices to help inform our work and you may be able to work from there.

The Team: 

We are a team of three that sit within the wider Income Generation and Grants directorate. The Compassionate Employers team includes the Compassionate Employers Programme Lead, Corporate Development Manager and the Compassionate Employers Executive.

Working together, we aim to support employers who need our workplace services, ultimately raising funds for hospices throughout the UK. 

The Compassionate Employers programme and this role sit within our Corporate Development Team, within Income Generation and Grants. Compassionate Employers is a key part of Hospice UK’s Income Generation strategy. 

Our Corporate Development Team works closely within and across the department. The focus in the team is on building partnerships with businesses, through commercial activity, fundraising or strategic support. Current corporate partnerships include several ‘charity of the year’ relationships, conferences and events, sponsorship, cause-related marketing partnerships, a supplier directory and a jobs board. As well as driving positive change for people affected by terminal illness and bereavement in the workplace, Compassionate Employers is an important income generation stream and ‘door-opener’ for Hospice UK.

Hospice UK is the national charity for hospice and palliative care. We provide support, leadership, expertise and advocacy for over 200 member hospices across the UK. 

Our membership offer for hospices and their staff teams includes online resources, newsletters, conferences, networks, clinical and advocacy programmes.
