We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, Head of Retail Service to join our team in supporting our funding of life saving research. You will develop and deliver the Retail service proposition across BHF Retail, driving customer and donor satisfaction.
As Head of Retail Service, you’ll be responsible for fostering a culture of service across the Retail directorate as well as implementing strategies aligned with our values to enhance the overall customer experience, both internal colleagues and external stakeholders (customers & donors).
You’ll lead a small team and work with the wider Retail leadership team to ensure to continually develop and improve the retail service proposition that we deliver. This role will involve collaboration with stakeholders across the business, within Retail and the wider BHF.
Using data led insight, you’ll analyse processes and feedback to identify trends and highlight areas for improvement and opportunities for innovation to stay ahead of the curve and find ways to surprise and delight our customer.
This role will also involve contract negotiation and management and oversee the procurement spend on services to ensure projects are delivered within budgets.
Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and either our London head office or our Northampton office. There will be some travel to stores and our Customer Service Centre in Birmingham required.
The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you must be prepared to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause. Most of our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office each week, on average.
About you
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Retail Service with a focus on both internal and external stakeholders. A strategic thinker you’ll have a focus on long-term service excellence and a passion for delivering outstanding service experiences for both employees and customers.
You’ll be familiar with customer service tools and software used in retail, such as POS systems, CRM software, and communications platforms and will have working knowledge of consumer rights legislation, trading standards and data protection requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- a project management qualification or extensive experience
- a track record of leading teams and managing a portfolio of projects and work streams to deadline and within budget
- working knowledge of Retail operations and customer experience management
- knowledge of Gift Aid

The role
As Events Fundraiser you will manage and develop myaware’s events portfolio and support in aid of fundraisers. Who are we?
Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition.
We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

Key responsibilities include:
- Support the HR manager and wider teams with recruiting staff, workers, contractors, and volunteers as required, focusing on workers and volunteer posts.
- Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding processes for workers and volunteers, including collecting and processing the necessary documentation, verifying background checks and references, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Prepare letters of engagement and contracts for workers and volunteers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements, and alignment with company policies and procedures; draft addendums as needed.
- Maintain GDPR compliance by securely managing and protecting worker data, obtaining necessary consent, maintaining accurate records, and appropriately deleting employee data per GDPR regulations.
- Ensure all induction and training activities and progress reviews are completed, recorded, and added to the HR system per company policies and procedures.
- Ensure timesheets and time-off requests are received, recorded, and where necessary, added to the HR system per company policies and procedures.
- Monitor non-active workers, track contractual obligations, and update HR records as needed to reflect changes in employment status. Support colleagues with the relevant off-boarding processes.
About You
As HR Administrator, you will be confident in using various technology and software applications, including emails, documents, spreadsheets, and video calls. You will be adept at working independently, making informed decisions, and taking ownership of tasks and projects.
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in providing high-level administration and support.
- Experience using software for managing data and records, e.g. HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Working knowledge of recruitment, contracts, onboarding practices, timekeeping, and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion in handling confidential documentation, records, and personal information.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in collaborating with remote team members and stakeholders.

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Stroke Recovery Service based in Liverpool on a fixed-term basis.

The Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:
· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

About You
The post holder will have experience/background in:
· A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.
· Setting up and running Communication Support groups.

Training Officer to prepare, coordinate and deliver highly engaging and scenario-based training for emergency response staff
The overall aim of all Register Preparation Training is to ensure that the professionals who deliver UK-Med’s responses are well prepared, know what to expect, and deliver the best possible responses resulting in positive health outcomes for the patients and communities we serve.
The Training Officer plays an essential role in ensuring that UK-Med delivers high-quality Preparation Training to our global workforce, which consists of both Core Staff and a Register of approx. 1200 healthcare professionals from all over the world. The Training Officer works closely with the Programme Manager – Training and Learning Design Specialist on preparing, coordinating and delivering highly interactive in-person simulation exercises, scenario-based tabletop exercises, and online exercises, training sessions and workshops from UK-Med’s training portfolio, and in contributing actively to learning and improvement for all training.
The Training Officer is a skilled trainer with a particular interest and/ or experience in delivering simulation-based training, adventure/ outdoor education, etc., weaving practical skills-building into scenarios which are evolving in real time. Furthermore, the Training Officer is accomplished in ensuring that all practical preparation and coordination of training activities is handled in a timely and expert manner in close collaboration with colleagues, to ensure a professional learning experience for participants and faculty members.

About the role
As digital content officer, you’ll design, edit and optimise our web content to help our users feel empowered throughout their breast cancer experience.
From personal stories and blogs to landing pages and webforms, you’ll support teams across the charity and lead the content creation for some of our key projects and campaigns.
