Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation focused on protecting the public through efficient regulation and a culture of continuous improvement. Working as part of the Fitness to Practise management team, you will lead on business improvement projects to enhance the efficiency and quality of our processes, procedures and decisions.

You will join us at an exciting time as we develop our work practice improvement programme, establish an agile change management model for the team, and cultivate a human centred approach to regulation, as we strive to fulfil our ambition to become a beacon of good practice.

Your role will be to:

  • Lead improvement projects within the Fitness to Practice department, undertaking root cause analysis and impact analysis to deliver and embed sustained, evidence-based changes.
  • Be proactive in identifying and making a case for appropriate improvements to meet challenges head on.
  • Work collaboratively with other Operational Managers and colleagues across the organisation to deliver the department’s strategic objectives and priorities, actively engaging with others to develop and embed robust and effective change.
  • Ensure the team have the skills and capabilities required to deliver high quality service outputs, fostering a learning and development culture.
  • Utilise quality assurance strategies to identify, develop and share best practice, ensuring that recommendations and learning from audits, reviews and other feedback is taken forward and embedded in the department.
  • Be a role model for the department’s commitment to embrace change and different ways of working.

You will have excellent communication skills, be Lean Six Sigma qualified and have experience of managing teams in delivering time and quality critical business processes. You will also have experience of working within healthcare, professional regulation or other regulatory environments.
