Job description

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Community Links Advisor to play a pivotal role in our Mental Health Service in Hammersmith and Fulham.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

As a Community Links Advisor, you will provide holistic, recovery-focused support to service users, helping them build independence, maintain their wellbeing, and sustain successful lives within their communities. Using person-centred approaches, SMART goals, and recovery planning tools, you will deliver one-to-one support, undertake assessments, develop risk management plans, and support individuals to achieve their recovery goals. You will work collaboratively with Community Mental Health Teams, healthcare professionals, carers, and community organisations to promote access to services, resources, and social networks. The role includes facilitating group activities, supporting community integration, advocating for recovery-focused practice, addressing wider social needs, and ensuring all support is delivered in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and best practice standards.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

In this role, you will need a relevant qualification such as an NVQ Level 4 in Care or equivalent experience within a mental health setting, together with a strong understanding of recovery-focused practice, co-production, care planning, risk assessment, and mental health legislation. Experience working with service users, carers, and external agencies is essential, alongside the ability to build positive therapeutic relationships and maintain professional boundaries. You will possess excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and partnership-working skills, with the confidence to work independently and under pressure. Strong IT skills, knowledge of community resources, and a compassionate, resilient, and person-centred approach are vital, while lived experience and Peer Support training would be advantageous.

Interview Steps

We keep our interview process simple, so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Shortlisting call: We have a team of dedicated recruitment specialists who will speak to you about your experience, motivations and values. They will also tell you about all the great work we do!
