Job Purpose and Summary

• To provide strategic financial leadership through strategic planning and robust reporting to ensure financial sustainability and facilitate growth of the organisation in order to maximise impact, in line with charitable objectives.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Responsible for:

• Financial oversight and leadership.
• Providing robust financial information to inform and improve operational management and decision making to further the charities’ objectives.
• Ensuring financial sustainability of the charity and facilitate growth and development to further charitable aims.
• Ensuring appropriate financial probity and controls in place.
• Financial planning including budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA/ACCA) (essential)

Experience

• At least 5 years’ experience as an accountant (essential)

The role

Reporting to the Events and Community Fundraising Manager, you will play a key role as part of the Fundraising Team by providing the highest levels of fundraising and event administration support to ensure the provision of seamless, excellent supporter care and assistance to our supporters.  Specific fundraising streams will include, but not be limited to, London Marathon, Other Runs and Challenges, Community Fundraising, Special Events and other streams as needed.

Whilst this role is primarily providing administrative and stewardship support for fundraising and event activities, there will be opportunities to be involved with all other aspects of the charity and the development of future fundraising initiatives and events.

The successful candidate will need to be a good team player, able to work independently; flexible; hard working and prepared to play an enthusiastic role in helping to deliver excellent supporter care and increased fundraising income. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

In this position you will:

· Be a primary contact point for our London Marathon runners to provide excellent customer care and increase fundraising potential

· Answer general public and supporter enquiries that come in by telephone, email, social media and WhatsApp groups and mail in a way that makes them feel important and valued regardless of the nature of their enquiry

· Assist with the processing of all income (cash, cheques, online platform donations)  correctly into the Donorfy database, and thank or pass to relevant team members for thanking in a timely manner

· Record as necessary enquiries, correspondence and responses on our Donorfy database

· Be a primary point of contact for our Challenge Event fundraisers.  Build excellent relationships with them and provide materials and support, liaising before, during and following their activity/event as needed

· To work with the team to provide support for key fundraising activities such as the London Marathon and other challenge and running events.  This will include assisting with event administration, proactively making telephone calls in response to applications for places in London Marathon and to encourage fundraising, answering telephone calls, responding to emails WhatsApp and Facebook messages, thanking participants, sending materials to participants and updating records on Donorfy

· Monitoring Social Media and assisting with providing content for these channels/platforms

· Communications support: this may include contributing content for appeals, website and enewsletters and will include monitoring stewardship schedules and deadlines where needed

· Act as liaison for BRUK’s administration where needed with our fulfilment house and/or other suppliers

· Liaise with finance and/or Head of Fundraising as required

It is essential that you have at least 12–15 months experience of working within the Third Sector in a supporter care and/or fundraising event administrative role

· Attention to detail -  you must be able to consistently produce accurate work

About the role 

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in the West Midlands across up to 4 schools (maximum) along with working remotely; exact school location(s) to be confirmed at interview. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website. Access to own transport or reliable transport would be ideal. The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised. 

Role responsibilities 

Some of our schools undertake our Accelerate model, which includes mentoring and coaching. Other schools also have tutoring included on our Accelerate Plus model. Depending on the model in the schools you are based in, role responsibilities will include: 

Accelerate 

• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
• Support the Volunteering team with the management of volunteer coaches to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme

• Chair and present at school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.

The purpose of the Senior Direct Marketing Officer’s role is to deliver and evolve the acquisition and retention strategy, inspiring the people of London to become long-term supporters of the Charity.

About First Give

First Give inspires young people to make a difference to the causes they care about. We do this through working in partnership with secondary schools, providing a fully resourced scheme of work that guides an entire year group of students to engage with local charities and causes and then carry out social action (fundraising, raising awareness, campaigning, volunteering etc) in support of them.

At the end of each programme, a celebratory School Final is held at each school, where groups representing each class deliver presentations about their projects. The class considered to have engaged the best with the programme secures a First Give grant of £1,000 for their chosen charity. By the end of the programme, however, the whole year group will have given back meaningfully to their local community.

We currently work in partnership with approximately 200 schools every year across England and Wales.

Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of the First Give programme in up 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, plus providing guidance and troubleshooting for the lead teachers at First Give partner schools.

The role will be hybrid, with 3 days a week in our main offices in West Hampstead, London. Regular travel to schools across London and the South East will be required.

• Provide logistic and programme support to teachers delivering the First Give programme at their school, including but not limited to:

The Ripple Pond is a charity that supports adult family members of physically and/or psychologically injured British Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Many of these individuals and family members are hard to reach and often isolated.

Your role will be to ensure that more and more of the military community, professionals and other interested parties know who we are and how to access our support.

You will also help to organise our exciting programme of online talks and activities for our Members (service-users) to help ensure they are well-informed, involved and feel part of a supportive community. Making sure that Members are always involved in generating ideas and production.

This role is about;

About You:

• Proven experience of managing DRTV campaigns, working closely with media, creative and production agencies.
• A track record of developing and implementing successful direct marketing strategies working in a complex direct marketing role / team. Including experience of strategic planning and executing multi-faceted activation campaigns for both below and above the line channels.
• Proven experience of managing large volume media campaigns including media planning, buying and analysis.
• Significant project management experience including identifying new fundraising opportunities and developing a framework for implementation.
• Experience of developing and managing complex budgets, using relevant monitoring and evaluating tools.
• Ability to develop, monitor and adapt DM strategies for the implementation of fundraising channels; including advising on the direction of the overarching direct marketing programme.
• Experience of successfully developing high level relationships with senior staff and stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Experience of leading a team and line management of one or more team members.
• Excellent written and numeracy skills with attention to detail and the ability to use spreadsheets to formulate and analyse complex budgets and make informed decisions.

• Hold safeguarding workshops and drop-in consultations for the ongoing training and support of MHI clinical and volunteer support staff.
• Work flexibly as may be required and carry out any other reasonable duties.
• Child protection leads must have received relevant safeguarding and child protection training that MHI require and that is specific to their role. This training should be refreshed regularly and they should keep up to date with any changes in safeguarding and child protection legislation and guidance.
