Robertson Bell are partnering with this well-known nonprofit organisation whilst they recruit for a new Accounts Payable Manager. Reporting into the Head of Operational Finance you will have three direct reports and a wider team of 25.
Duties for this role include:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments, adhering to the board's approval matrix for delegated authorities.
- Supervise the department's data entry process to validate invoices, match them with purchase orders, and ensure accurate coding for authorisation.
- Oversee the accurate and timely setup of new suppliers, following necessary controls and procedures.
- Manage expense payments, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
- Supervise all cash processes, including petty cash and payment runs.
- Maintain the ledger, resolving outstanding invoices and supplier issues prior to each payment run.
- Improve team efficiency by measuring KPIs and implementing process enhancements.
- Ensure objectives for the team are aligned with organisational goals and develop SLAs for direct reports, conduct regular performance reviews, offer necessary coaching, and regular development sessions.
- Provide internal and external guidance on accounts payable matters, collaborating with systems, accounting teams, and other departments to automate processes and support change initiatives.
Based at the organisations head office in South London this Accounts Payable Manager will be required to work in the office twice a week. This permanent position will best suit an individual who has already run an effective accounts payable function of a significant size.

What you'll do:

About the role
This is an exciting role within the Volunteering Team. You’ll have responsibility for designing and piloting Shelter’s financial resilience volunteer programme in Leeds as well as supporting our nationwide volunteering programme. We’ll rely on you to use best practice volunteer management to design and pilot volunteering journeys from attraction, recruitment and training all the way through to ongoing support and exit. You’ll also be leading on evaluating the pilot and adapting our approaches based on learnings. The role involves collaborating with key stakeholders not only across Shelter but with our financial corporate partners to implement a volunteer programme that equips our volunteers to deliver their roles independently, whilst also having the biggest impact. About you

“Empty Spaces to Homes” is a ground-breaking initiative focused on a circular buildings approach that already has a feasible proof of concept from piloting, with strong upscaling potential. The premise is simple; unlocking the potential of long term empty commercial spaces to create affordable housing for vulnerable people. As well as the social benefits of adding to affordable housing stock, the Empty Spaces to Homes approach of retrofitting existing structures – at a much lower carbon cost - offers a greener and more sustainable way to meet the housing gap, in comparison to the environmental impact of the new build construction industry. Breaking down long-standing barriers to resource-efficient renovation is essential if the UK is to play its part in meeting ambitious global decarbonisation targets.
Purpose of The role
The UK Housing Advocacy Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission by leading advocacy efforts, shaping policies, and promoting sustainable housing solutions for affordable housing in Great Britain, particularly through our groundbreaking initiative "Empty Spaces to Homes."
As this is a new role, and is being recruited alongside the Head of Global Affairs and Advocacy, key responsibilities will include the establishment of a new function at Habitat GB. It involves working closely with colleagues across the Habitat GB organisation and contributing to advocacy efforts across the Habitat network at global and regional levels through engagement, strategy and shared learning. Key responsibilities also include developing communication and advocacy strategies targeting professionals and decision makers in social, environmental and housing sectors, as well as undertaking research and writing policy papers.
Main Responsibilities
1) Research and Analysis:
- Commission and conduct in-depth research into current British housing landscapes and related legislation, assessing the effectiveness of mechanisms for converting unused premises into social housing and its environmental impact.
- Identify legal changes necessary to facilitate such activities and advocate for their implementation.
2) Lead Policy Advocacy Efforts:
- Utilise research findings to develop policy positions and identify priority issues, setting policy goals, and mapping out related advocacy activities.
- Embed critical concepts such as embodied carbon and whole life cycle into policy communications to amplify Habitat GB's messaging.
3) Partnerships and Networks:
- Join and represent Habitat GB at existing coalitions or form new coalitions if necessary with stakeholders in the social, environmental, and housing sectors to advocate for climate and equity-related incentives in national and local legislations, policies, and funding mechanisms.
- Build a network of relationships among key stakeholder groups and individual decision-makers to advance Habitat's policy goals.
- Identify strategic events and ensure speaking roles for Habitat GB.
- Represent Empty Spaces to Homes and Habitat for Humanity’s wider UK programmes for awareness raising, advocacy and other priorities at key meetings and events.

Person Specification
· Proven experience in professional advocacy to influence key policy positions and decisions, preferably in housing or a related field.

Look Ahead Care and Support own and manage a mixed portfolio of properties across London and the Home Counties. The organisation accommodates customers with a range of support needs. The Repairs Manager will work as part of the Property Services team. Assuming day-to-day responsibility for the oversight and coordination of all repair and maintenance activities across all tenures (Supported, Unsupported, Intermediate and Market Rent).
Responsible for working collaboratively with the Customer Contact Centre to facilitate the timely and efficient completion of repairs and maintenance tasks in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements. Offering technical expertise, whilst being a lead escalation for Contractor Management and Commercial Meetings.
What you'll do:
Instigate Orders
Authorise orders and approve variation price works from agreed SoR's. Offer technical support to Customer Contact Centre to ensure that works are value for money. Promptly instruct contractor and confirm agreed timescale. Liaise with scheme mangers as necessary.
Order Approvals
Approve and review high value orders, variations, and completed works prior to invoice.
Quality Assurance
Lead on all areas of quality assurance including sharing site visit responsibility with Property Inspector. Manage requests for pre inspections and post inspections with Property Inspector. Lead on Damp and Mould quality inspections and follow up reports. Communicate inspection KPIs to key stakeholders.
Works Delivery
Ensure that all works are completed within agreed time frame work and that this is accurately monitored through weekly WIP reports.
Contractor Management
Ensure strict adherence to Contractor code of conduct and agreed SLAs. Lead contract progress meetings to manage performance.
Complaint and Query Lead
Manage all complaints responses related to repairs from inception and act as escalation point for repairs and void teams.

Undertake regular CPD (Continuing Personal Development) in construction related subjects.
Strong IT Skills - Microsoft Office - minimum Intermediate level.
Perform any other duties as may be reasonably requested by your line manager.
Desirable:
An HND or equivalent in construction or building studies.
A Full UK Driving Licence.
Knowledge of construction techniques.
Knowledge of building standards regulatory requirements in relation to repairs and maintenance.
Demonstrable knowledge of construction Health and Safety regulations.
Working knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR's)

The Deputy Manager is responsible for the operational management of our specialist customer focused support services across the service. Working in partnership with stakeholders, external agencies and our Commissioning Team, you lead your Team to offer high quality support to customers who require specialist support. Responsible for Safeguarding our customers, you will promote sector best practice and legislative compliance to keep our customers safe within their environment.
You will ensure that your teams meet all statutory requirements and that all support is delivered in compliance with CQC expectations and Look Ahead's policy and procedures. You will take responsibly alongside the Cluster manager for maintaining compliance with the regulations and ensure that the appropriate notifications are made where necessary.
This role deputises for the Contract Manager when required.

What you'll do:
Service Management
- Develop and promote key business relationships with stakeholders to achieve excellence in service delivery and maximise new business opportunities
- Ensure that all Statutory and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are proactively met or exceeded. Demonstrate value for money services.
- Responsible for health and safety compliance for staff and all buildings within the cluster.
- Take part in the out of hours on-call service, where required
People Management
- Lead and motivate your team to foster a forward thinking, positive "can do" working environment and culture
- Deliver motivational and effective supervision and team meetings to empower staff with relevant information appropriate to their role.
- Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times and uphold all health and safety responsibilities within relevant policies and local protocols
- Adhere to all LACS policies and procedures including service specific processes, and statutory requirements
- Carry out other administrative tasks as relevant to the service and directed by the Head of Service.

What you'll bring:
Essential:
* Minimum 3 years experience of supporting vulnerable adults with Learning disabilities and Autism.
* GCSEs in English and Maths (grade A-C).
* Health and Social Care qualification
* Knowledge of Safeguarding and Mental Capacity processes.
* Up to date knowledge of current social care legislation
* Experience of leading and managing a team
* Possess excellent leadership skills with a positive, can do attitude
* Experience managing the support of customers with high complex needs
* Experience of CQC standards and how they apply to services
* Experience of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), implementation of PBS plans and how to use PBS to effectively support customers
