Job description

Prospectus is delighted to partner with New Hope, a well-established and growing organisation based in Hertfordshire, which supports people who are experiencing homelessness or have recent experience of homelessness, to recruit for an Emergency Accommodation Service Manager. New Hope support people through their intervention and outreach work, rehabilitation and recovery provision and their busy Emergency Accommodation service.

As the Emergency Accommodation Service Manager, you will take responsibility for the overall strategy and continuous development of the service, alongside New Hope’s Leadership Team. You will develop a culture of external collaborative partnerships with organisations and individuals in the statutory, charitable, and private sectors, including local authorities, the police and mental health services.

In this role you will develop strong working relationships with New Hope’s other service managers, strengthen and further the application of the principles of Trauma Informed Care and Psychologically Informed Environments.

The ideal candidate will thrive in challenging situations and will have the energy and drive to develop New Hope’s Emergency Accommodation into the best possible service it can be – providing excellent short-term personalised support to people who are experiencing homelessness.

Able to see the big picture and develop strong working relationships both internally and externally, you will create a vision and strategy for the service and then ensure goals and targets are met.

Focused on enabling people to move on from the Emergency Accommodation, you will be self-aware, compassionate, non-judgemental, and have a strong degree of emotional intelligence. You will have excellent skills in communication, prioritisation, and administration. You will be able to inspire, motivate, and encourage your staff team enabling them to grow and develop in their roles. You will be able to respond flexibly, confidently, and professionally to any challenges which arise.
