Are you ready to make a real difference? At Berryfields, our specialist housing service in Colchester helps people with acquired brain injuries (ABI) rebuild their lives, regain independence, and thrive in the community.
As a Housing Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping customers develop life skills, sustain tenancies, and work toward recovery. You’ll provide housing-related support both within our Berryfields scheme and through outreach in the local community—no personal care involved, just meaningful, practical support tailored to individual needs.
As this role requires travel between locations, you must have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed in line with our policy.
This is a rota-based role, with 7.5-hour shifts that include evenings and weekends, ensuring our service is there when it’s needed most.

The Role:
Deliver an outstanding service to residents and internal stakeholders by ensuring properties are well-maintained, resident needs are met promptly, and all interactions

We are looking for an Anti Social Behaviour Officer to join our Housing Team in East London also covering Harrow, Barnet, Camden, Newham and Lambeth, to contribute to developing a safe and inclusive community for our customers.

About the role
Based in the PDT team this role will contribute towards Your Place’s overarching mission to end homelessness one person at a time and meet organisational KPI’s around outcome based contracts.
In response to an increasing proportion of residents who have been referred to us holding refugee status we are seeking to develop our supported accommodation services to meet the particular needs of this group.
This role will be responsible for developing our services to make them more accessible to our resident population who are from a migrant background. This includes:
- Developing our move on offer to residents from a migrant background including the design and delivery of move on training in particular ensuring that they have a realistic understanding of the housing market and to provide the appropriate support to enable them to maintain accommodation in future.
- The development of bespoke accommodation pathways and support to ensure that barriers that migrants face within housing market are overcome.

Working with the Sanctuary Manager and a team of volunteers, you will ensure this support is upheld to a high standard. The Oxford Housing First service aims to support hard to reach clients with complex needs; by sourcing independent tenancies and providing intensive support into long term accommodation. By adopting a flexible, creative and personalised approach, the service aims to support individuals to manage their tenancies in the community and rebuild their lives.
As the Housing First Coordinator you will have the opportunity to lead on the development and day-to-day delivery of the service, taking responsibility for line management, support and supervision of Housing First Workers and overseeing case management so they can provide intensive high quality support to their individual caseload of clients.

BIAS’s welfare and housing advice service supports members of the local Irish community and beyond with a range of complex issues, including disability benefits, pensions, Universal Credit, Irish passports, homelessness, rehousing, tenancy sustainment and disrepair. We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic person who has a background or demonstrable interest in advice, welfare or housing to join our friendly advice team. Your role will involve contributing to the establishment, expansion and day-to-day running of BIAS’s advice service in Haringey borough, providing specialist advice on welfare and housing via one-to-one client appointments, completing casework and advocating for positive outcomes for your clients.
You will need to have strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues, clients and partners, an aptitude for working independently, excellent organisational skills and the ability to digest complex briefs. You will be required to manage an active caseload, ensuring that cases are appropriately actioned and recorded and that deadlines are met. You will work with the Advice Services Manager to build and develop the new advice service in Haringey, ensuring that we replicate our excellent quality of service, strong record of positive outcomes and loyal client base.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES
- Providing appropriate advice, information and practical help to clients via in-person appointments, outreach visits, telephone, letter or email. Where necessary, advocating on behalf of clients in the appropriate forums.
- Ensuring that all casework records are kept up to date and completed clearly and effectively.
- Contributing to monitoring service delivery and recording client outcomes.
- Maintaining a good knowledge of other available services, and signposting or referring clients as needed.
- Participating in regular team file reviews and supervision sessions, and contributing to maintaining BIAS’s high-quality service in line with Advice Quality Standard (AQS) requirements.
- Engaging positively and constructively with other service providers, including local authorities and housing providers, to maintain partnerships.
- Staying up to date with developments in welfare benefits and housing legislation and identifying opportunities to effect positive policy change, together with the Advice Services Manager.
These are the basic duties required of the Welfare and Housing Adviser. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based in our advice venues in Haringey[1], with some presence required at our main office in Willesden and some options for flexible working (i.e. one or two days per week).
[1] BIAS is currently running its Haringey advice services from the Hornsey Vale Community Centre, with plans to expand into additional venues in the borough later in 2025.

Some of the things you would be responsible for as a Community Manager:

- Organising and delivering Companion workshops and training sessions to promote ongoing engagement with the Emmaus ethos, while identifying and supporting individual learning and development needs.
- Lead and implement a culture which provides confidentiality, promotes professional boundaries, protects data, and safeguards Companions, Volunteers and staff.
- To manage support relating to Companion’s needs regarding their daily living requirements, physical and mental health, safety and personal development.
- To assist and encourage Companions to move into independent accommodation where appropriate
- Ensure that effective Safeguarding systems are in place and maintained, acting as the organisation’s Designated Safeguarding Person, with delegated responsibility for policy development, implementation, and reporting.
- Working in partnership with the Business Manager, facilitate, encourage, and support companion engagement and training within the social enterprises to ensure they are viable businesses.
- Assist the Multi Site Property and Facilities Manager in the upkeep and maintenance of the Community, to ensure that it provides a pleasant and comfortable home for the Companions, whilst adhering to health and safety requirements.

About the role
As an Engagement Worker, you will be pivotal in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home by enabling those we assist to enforce their housing rights. You will be a key member of the Housing First team in South Tyneside, delivering intensive support to a small number of individuals with multiple disadvantage to move from homelessness to sustaining a tenancy. You will need to form links with partner organisations and agencies and your role will be fundamental in supporting someone on their journey through Housing First, supporting five[TG1] clients at any one time.
About you
You will need experience of support work, a proven ability to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, especially substance misuse services, health and probation and people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have an awareness of working in a trauma informed, strengths based approach to help people with multiple disadvantage, as well as having experience of writing and implementing person centred support plans and writing detailed case-notes. Also, you have flexible time management skills and are comfortable collaborating with people from other teams and organisations.
