The Role

The Administrative Officer will play a key role in helping to ensure the smooth running of HEP’s operations, events, and communications, and in delivering the high-quality service that underpins our success.  This role reports jointly to the Operations Manager and the Lead for Digital and Communications. 

Key Responsibilities 

Administrative Support

• First point of contact for schools, clients, suppliers, and visitors triaging issues and responding efficiently and helpfully to queries in person, via phone, and by email
• Manage day-to-day administrative tasks including maintaining records and supporting internal workflows and some internal team communications
• Monitoring of shared inboxes across various teams, addressing enquiries in a timely manner
• Work closely with the Operations, Comms, CPD and Curriculum teams to support projects and workstreams

Event / Visitor Coordination

• Prepare and manage meeting rooms and training venues liaising with trainers and delegates
• Assist with the planning and delivery of in-person and online events, including training sessions, conferences, and away days
• Creati event collateral in a professional and timely manner 

CPD Support

• Support with organising and hosting online and in-person training and courses
• Support with the development of CPD promotional material including brochures and flyers
• Support with uploading HEPs training programme and events onto website
• Support the technical and logistical setup for virtual meetings and webinars

Communications and Digital Support

• Website administration support, resolving member queries 
• Help in creation and distribution of communication materials, such as flyers, newsletters, brochures,podcasts and content for social media/digital channels

JOB PURPOSE

Start Network has enabled the setup of Hubs in 10 countries across the last 3 years in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guatemala, India, Pacific, Pakistan, Philippines, Somalia, and South Sudan. Our hubs are collectives of local, national, and international humanitarian organisations operating in the same country or region with a vision of system change. They are working together to tackle the deep-rooted issues in humanitarian responses within their countries. Hubs control their own resources and define their own responses to crises affecting their communities. They are supported by the global Start Network.

The purpose of this role is to collaborate with Hub representatives to set up successful resource mobilisation functions in selected Hub country and mobilise new funds directly for them. This is a critical role for our strategy and will require someone with experience in setting up ‘income streams’ from scratch (including setting resource mobilisation strategies and fund-raising protocols). This role requires someone with ample experience in coordinating teams across countries and securing new income from donors. Most Hubs are new entities, therefore the support required will also include capacity-building, donor-mapping, creating exciting brochures about the hubs, helping hubs set up their fundraising strategy, direct engagement on behalf of the Hubs with the donors, and other activities, as defined by consultations with the Hubs and the resource mobilisation team based in London. Provision of support to the Hubs will largely be done through remote coordination, facilitation, and engagement. This is a new role and will require flexibility and a proactive can do attitude. We expect the role will initially focus on 3-4 countries: for now we have confirmed Guatemala, Somalia, and Pakistan a fourth country will be picked in Q4 2025. Although the role may initially focus on these countries, the expectation is that over time we will be able to offer this support to other countries as capacity is available. 

Salary: £33,366 starting salary (salary range will increase to max £36,124 via the length of service) plus £4,190 Inner London Weighting if based in London per annum.

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,000 members in the UK and overseas. Our role is to champion the specialty, set standards of training and practice, support the personal and professional development of our members and influence change to make a difference to the lives of patients with eye conditions.

Main Purpose

The RCOphth provides education, support and professional development for ophthalmologists of all grades and across all of their roles. It also contributes to education in eye care and ophthalmology for undergraduate medical students and practitioners in other medical specialties and ophthalmic professions. The RCOphth aims for all its audiences to be able to access the ophthalmology education they need, when and where they want it, and in the form most appropriate for the learner and the learning material.

This role is an exciting new opportunity for you to play a leading part in the development and delivery of our digital learning provision.

You will work closely with colleagues and editors/co-editors to ensure that this membership benefit is valued by the membership and external audiences and their experience when using the platform is optimised.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of the INSPIRE digital learning platform (Brightspace)
• Work with Editors, Co-Editors, Instructors and Contributors on the production of high-quality digital learning materials in terms of content, level and educational rigour

• Provide support to Editors and Co-Editors in loading resources onto the INSPIRE platform and integrating them to create learning materials.  This will entail formatting and editing text, images and video for house style and grammar whilst maintaining medical/scientific accuracy.
• Checking consent and clearing copyright/licensing permissions for materials used in INSPIRE.
• Organising Editor and Co-Editor meetings and workshops.

Communications/Liaison

Overview and key points on the role  | Rape Crisis South London is looking for 2 part time skilled, passionate and professional Caseworkers who will be based within the Advocacy Service.  As a Caseworker you will support clients through their journey through the housing and benefits system by providing practical and emotional support to survivors of sexual violence.  You should have a good working knowledge of Housing processes and Welfare benefits systems with experience of carrying out assessments and completing applications.  In addition to having excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills you should also be able to develop key relationships with external agencies such as the local authority.   You should have demonstrable experience working with survivors of sexual violence and of working in a trauma-informed way. We will provide clinical supervision, full training and line management, and the opportunity to develop your skillsets. Responsible to the Advocacy service manager you will be a key member of the advocacy service, working alongside our ISVA’s in a busy and supportive team.

As Concierge Lead, you will manage relationships with up to 150 members and help them to:

• Navigate the health and social care system with confidence

Your daily role can include:

• Developing deep member insights by conducting member ‘discoveries’ to learn life stories, hobbies, health and communication needs and understand what they want more
• Listening to members’ needs, providing emotional support and helping members build resilience.
• Facilitating and hosting monthly Transition Circles which are peer group sessions for carers experiencing similar situations
• Leading on member wellbeing at Good Company Clubs.
• Through gathering insights help develop and share actionable advice and practical tips through our website and the Good Company Hub
• Working with, training, and supporting a team of Concierge volunteers to provide support, information, and good company at the Good Company Hub on the high street
• Building partnerships with local organisations —social, sports, and voluntary—to introduce members to meaningful opportunities

The Role

The Senior Evidence Officers sit within the Evidence Team and involve leading highly impactful evidence synthesis projects. These projects contribute to the Toolkit – a suite of tools aimed at distilling the best available evidence and embedding evidence into policy and practice. Key responsibilities will include:

• Evidence scoping reviews
• Critical appraisal of intervention evaluations
• Designing and quality-assuring externally commissioned systematic reviews

About You

With an MSc or equivalent master's degree in research methods, education, public health, health sciences, social sciences (or other relevant field of research), you will have  experience in: project management, delivering research/analytical complex projects at quality, establishing appropriate governance with multiple, diverse stakeholders.

You will also have:

• Significant knowledge of high-quality impact evaluation methodology with a rounded understanding of evaluation design
• Capability to work successfully and independently in a multi-disciplinary team
• Skill and experience in designing and commissioning research
• Advanced knowledge and experience of systematic literature review and evidence synthesis
• An understanding of government, the wider policy making community, and how to effect change in policy making and practice, with excellent knowledge of one or more relevant policy or practice areas
