We are seeking a Fundraiser with a background in lead and income generation with the drive to create change for farmed animals in the UK. You will be part of a small, high-impact team specialising in consumer education and political advocacy to help us grow our supporter base and raise essential income to support our work for animals.

As Fundraiser (Lead Generator), you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by identifying and cultivating potential donors and supporters. Your primary responsibilities will be to generate leads utilising Engaging Networks on social media platforms and work with the Fundraising Development Manager to build on supporter journeys that maximise conversion rates.

You’ll join us in maximising the value of Engaging Networks, an intuitive, industry-leading CRM which brings fundraising and activism together and provides tools for integrating digital communications. While experience with Engaging Networks is desirable but not essential, you will have experience with CRMs, including reporting and managing campaigns.

Working as part of a highly effective team within a fast-paced environment, the Fundraiser (Lead Generator) will cultivate relationships in the coordination of imaginative and effective fundraising campaigns.

Whilst this position is home-based, it is largely normal office hours, although work outside these times will be required (e.g. relating to stunts, press conferences, talks and events). Time off in lieu will be given as appropriate.

The role will involve:

Lead Generation:
• Develop and implement target-led strategies to identify and engage potential donors
• Utilise various channels, such as Engaging Networks and social media platforms to generate leads and expand our supporter base substantially in 2024

Relationship Building:
• Cultivate meaningful relationships with prospective donors, understanding their interests and motivations for supporting animal rights
• Collaborate with the Fundraising Development Manager to ensure a personalised and donor-centric approach
• Collaborate with the Social Media & Marketing Manager to set up Google Ads campaigns, with ongoing monitoring, making improvements to enhance the quality and quantity of the leads generated

Communication and Outreach:
• Craft compelling messages and campaigns to effectively communicate the organisation's mission and impact
• Represent the NGO at events, conferences, and community gatherings to raise awareness and connect with potential supporters

Engaging Networks Management:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor information in Engaging Networks
• Track and analyse key performance metrics to assess the success of lead generation initiatives

Collaboration:
• Work closely with the fundraising and marketing team to align lead generation efforts with overall fundraising strategies
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a unified approach to achieving organisational goals

Fundraising Expertise:
• At least three years of experience in fundraising within the non-profit sector
• A good working knowledge of direct marketing for donor recruitment, appeals and stewardship across different channels, with a particular focus on digital

The Fundraising Development Manager role is a real opportunity to help Somerset Wildlife Trust develop a sustainable fundraising strategy and bring together the Fundraising and Supporter Development Team to retain and grow donations. Responsible for our 23,000 members, as well as appeals, adoptions, our online shop and member events, the Fundraising Development Manager will lead the team to bring in a significant proportion of unrestricted income, as well as managing the relationships with some of our most passionate supporters.

We are looking for an insightful fundraising manager who can help us maintain our existing fundraising channels as well as developing our corporate membership strategy and investigating new sources of giving and opportunities we have yet to take advantage of – essential if we are to achieve our ambitious strategy. You’ll be working with the entire wider fundraising team to help develop leads and pipelines to support the wider fundraising efforts, as well as having the opportunity to diversify our fundraising actions.

Meet Fundraising Strategic Targets

Supervise and line manage the Fundraising and Supporter Care Team by building integrated programmes of supporter development activities that retain and grow donations and fundraising from existing supporters and deliver growth in income by recruiting new financial supporters to achieve financial targets.

Responsibility 1: Leading Public Fundraising Activity

Manage fundraising activity through:

• Leading the fundraising team to build integrated programmes of activities that increase donors and deliver growth in income.
• Growing annual membership numbers by managing and maintaining current recruitment channels. Oversee relationships and engagement with our membership including complaint management.
• Managing the relationship with the Trust’s face to face membership recruitment company, SWWFL, to deliver best efficiency and returns on investment.
• Planning and implementing integrated appeals and other ways for members and the public to give which deliver strong results to support the Trust’s fundraising priorities and targets.
• Working as fundraising leadership team with the Philanthropy and Trusts & Grants Managers, supporting the Head of Fundraising on strategic projects.
• Developing and testing activities based on insights and analysis to ensure the best return on investment across all segments of the supporter base, to support fundraising colleagues.
• Managing existing corporate relationships to maintain and improve corporate fundraising levels, supporting account management of corporate partners.
• Establishing a data collection strategy in line with current data protection rules and which creates a pool of warm leads to convert into donors.
• Ensuring our new supporter database (Raiser’s Edge) is fully developed within the Trust and developed to maximise our integration with existing systems. Supporting teams across the organisation to use RE to increase knowledge of existing relationships and creating opportunities for fundraising and engagement.
• Managing the workload, performance and personal development of the supporter development team to drive more support and income for Somerset Wildlife Trust.
• Being accountable for setting the Supporter Development budget and reporting on performance against targets, to help inform planning and product development.
• Championing the use of best practice marketing techniques, including data collection and GDPR, throughout the Trust, with a particular commitment to delivering high standards of supporter care and fundraising practice.

Responsibility 2: Developing sustainable income streams

Be proactive and nurture strong relationships by:

• Identifying, developing and testing new individual giving fundraising activities based on insights and analysis, to ensure sustainable fundraising income across a variety of sources that target all segments of the supporter base.
• Identifying and testing membership recruitment diversification channels and growing annual membership income via techniques including upgrades.
• Designing and implementing a fundraising strategy for corporates, including identifying targets, developing relationships, and significantly increasing income from this fundraising channel. Work with other corporate functions across the Trust to ensure a combined corporate offering that benefits everyone.

Responsibility 3: Developing Fundraising pipelines

Provide management and accountability by:

• Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute ideas and knowledge to deliver integrated engagement and fundraising campaigns and the growth of other income streams, including gifts of £1k+, gifts in wills, Community Fundraising and Grant Fundraising.
• Creating user journeys and stewardship for our supporters to help retention and increase giving propensities.
• Developing a warm lead generation and development program to increase the number of potential donors within our database, supporting all areas of individual giving including Community Fundraising, Legacies, Major Donors and Patrons.
• Working with the Database Officer, Philanthropy Manager and Community Fundraising Manager to identify segments within the database that could be developed into Major Donors or to support other fundraising income streams.
• Investigating and developing an event strategy to help support specific demographic groups including Corporates, members and other key supporters, including the annual AGM and members day.

This role will provide strategic oversight and direction for Lepra’s institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets. Line managing and leading the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser in the delivery of the trust fundraising target, and working with the programmes teams in the UK, India and Bangladesh to identify and develop applications to statutory sources and major trusts, leading on the development of detailed project proposals.

EduSpots is an innovative, dynamic, and community-driven UK and Ghanaian registered charity which connects, trains, and equips voluntary community educators to drive community-led change through education spaces named ‘Spots’. Our vision is of our world where communities unite to create the futures they want to see, through education.

Since 2016, through collaborating extensively with over 250 local volunteers, who take a central leadership role in the development of the network, we have supported 50 communities in creating and running community-led and owned education spaces named ‘Spots’, with a strategy to support them in moving towards our ‘Dream Spot Model’. About this role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic fundraising professional, with a proven track record of income generation and a strong ability to develop impactful relationships with the skills to bring aligned individuals and organisations into our long-term EduSpots community. The post holder will be creative, passionate and self-motivated, with strong marketing and communications skills, able to design and implement strategic fundraising approaches. 

In this role, you will take on responsibility for identifying, creating and delivering impactful fundraising strategies that enable us to generate further relationships and income in support of our programmes. 

You will oversee the development of our individual giving and monthly giving strategies and further develop relationships with schools, corporate organisations and NGOs, with a focus on resource acquisition (e.g. books, electronic devices) alongside fundraising. You will also play a supportive role in events and campaigns, and work closely with our Head of Communications to ensure our marketing and communications strategy is integrated with our fundraising aims. Currently, we already have a trusts and foundations manager, but would welcome applicants with experience of trust fundraising.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

The key responsibilities of this role are to:

• Develop our individual giving and monthly giving strategies, including:

  • Ensuring we have the right tools in place.

  • Strengthening thanking and communications to existing supporters.

  • Trialling new strategies for outreach to new audiences.

• Organise occasional fundraising events (e.g. face-to-face events in London; virtual events and fundraising challenges).

• Support organisation and delivery of appeals and campaigns (e.g. the Big Give).

• Support the development of impactful relationships with schools, universities, corporates and NGOs for fundraising and resource acquisition (e.g. books, digital devices, science equipment). 

• If time and experience, possibly support grant applications. 

• Line manage, and provide support to, the intern/s (fundraising). 

Other

• Ensure all administrative tasks relating to the role are carried out accurately.

• To comply at all times with the organisation's policies, procedures and performance expectations of staff as set out in the Staff and Volunteers Handbook.

• To ensure compliance with data protection legislation.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

Essential

• Proven track record of successful income generation from individuals or communities - ideally in a similar education / international development organisation 

• Experience of developing and maintaining successful income generating relationships (e.g. with schools, corporates, individuals, communities)

• Experience of digital marketing to engage new charity supporters / donors (including using paid advertising and innovative engagement techniques)

• Experience of email marketing and donor conversion strategies

• Strong communication and marketing skills, ideally with basic design skills (Canva)

• Ability to work effectively in a remote based role with minimal day-to-day support 

• Outstanding interpersonal skills 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to use own initiative and work to tight and competing deadlines

• Ability to effectively manage workload and prioritise tasks

We are looking for Volunteer Coordinator to be responsible for overseeing our volunteer programme

Key duties will include;

Recruiting volunteers through a variety of job boards, community pages and platforms.

Arranging and carrying out interviews with potential volunteers to assess the value and contribution they could offer the charity.

Carrying out new volunteer inductions to ensure they are confident and competent to deliver their responsibilities as a UCARE volunteer.

Supporting the continued development of existing volunteers

Maintaining accurate volunteer records to monitor training, development and performance.

Working with UCARE colleagues to ensure we have an engaged pool of volunteers that meets the resource needs of the charity.

Coordinate awareness events such as stalls, talks and workshops to build awareness within the Oxfordshire community of the mission of the charity.

About you

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator who is compassionate, friendly, sensitive and have a sensible approach, able to demonstrate responsibility, reliability and integrity.

Salford Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to local people who are referred to us in crisis. Food is donated, sorted and packed at our warehouse, then delivered to our 7 centres across Salford, where teams of volunteers greet people as they pick up their food parcels. People can also access support and advice at our centres to help them maximise their income and ensure they are less likely to need to use the foodbank again.

You’ll be joining a friendly team of 6 part-time staff, 6 Trustees and approx. 80 volunteers, all dedicated to supporting people facing hardship. We are part of The Trussell Trust, a nationwide network of foodbanks.

Rate of pay: £21,000 per annum for 22.5 hours per week (£35,000 FTE pro-rata)

Full-time / part-time: Part time role 22.5 hours per week (flexible, home based within the North West with some contact hours at Salford Foodbank warehouse/office)

As the need for Foodbank services continues to grow Salford Foodbank has developed and expanded. • Through excellent, comprehensive and considered research, you’ll identify and prioritise a pool of potential grant giving trusts and foundations funders for Salford Foodbank. You’ll forge relationships with those funders, develop and submit timely and winning funding applications.
• You’ll manage the ongoing relationships with grant giving trusts and foundations funders, ensuring they receive excellent stewardship, timely reporting and doing all you can maximising potential for further funding
• You’ll proactively identify, engage and build good relationships with prospective corporate donors, successfully securing them as funding partners. Alongside this you’ll deepen engagement and grow our relationships and partnerships with existing corporate donors.
• Working with colleagues across Salford Foodbank, you’ll develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding and partnership proposals that can successfully engage grant giving trusts, foundations and corporate partners and that can successfully align our vision and work with their needs, motivations, areas of interests and values.
• You’ll research potential funding opportunities from the local council and local authorities.
• You will develop, monitor and manage a fundraising portfolio. You’ll establish a fundraising pipeline, including a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.
• You’ll work collaboratively with other Trussell Trust food banks across the Greater Manchester area, identifying and progressing opportunities for joint funding proposals and partnerships.
• You’ll forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. You’ll proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.
• You’ll be willing to carry out other reasonable duties contributing to the overall aims of the Foodbank.

We will need you to support the development and delivery of the charity’s fundraising strategy, with focus on individual giving, legacies and grants.  You will have a track record of engaging with stakeholders and be able to develop a strategy for increasing income through individual giving.
