For over 75 years MAF has been working in partnership with hundreds of Christian and relief organisations, enabling practical help, physical healing and spiritual hope to be delivered to some of the world’s most remote and inaccessible communities.Leading the people team you will oversee the development and implementation of our PEOPLE strategy designed to attract, develop, and retain a high performing and creative workforce who are passionately engaged with our vision to see isolated people changed by the love of Christ. Part of that plan will be the development of strategies to address our recruitment needs both in the UK and overseas. The Director will also provide strategic level HR leadership to our 60+ UK based staff and 30 staff and their families overseas.
Reporting to the CEO, you will serve on the six-strong senior leadership team contributing to the wider organisational strategy and play a central role shaping the Christian culture of the organisation.

Terms and Conditions
- Location: This role can be based at the MAF UK Offices in Folkstone, Kent or optionally could be in the Oxford, Cambridge arc as we seek to launch a new hub in the Milton Keynes area, maximising our engagement with a thriving local aerospace and charity sector region. Up to two days a week in our Folkstone Office might be initially required.We welcome hybrid working in line with our flexible working policy, the needs of the business, the requirements of the role and your location. This will be discussed at interview.
- Working Hours: This is a full time role (at least 36 hours per week, with 1 hour for lunch daily unpaid) but requiring some flexibility on the successful candidate to work additional hours occasionally some of which could be outside the normal business hours. Hours should be agreed with line manager.
- Travel: Flexibility will be required for working additional hours and travel to meet business needs (inlcuding overseas travel) or for travel/meetings on weekends or evenings.

5. HR Administration:
· Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, absence records and HR databases.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field. CIPD certification is essential.
- Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the charity sector or a similar non-profit organisation.

XLP is a youth work charity working to create positive futures for young people and at the cutting edge of tackling poverty and educational failure in inner London. We deliver holistic, long-term work with young people aged 11 to 25 in schools and communities.

The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham is an Anglican centre of Pilgrimage in North Norfolk which traces its roots back to the vision of the Lady Richeldis in 1061. The original Shrine was destroyed at the Reformation and the current Shrine was restored in the 1920’s and 1930’s as a result of the ministry of Fr Alfred Hope Patten.

General
The Shrine employs around 75 members of staff and every year it welcomes a steady stream of volunteers who offer help in return for board and lodging.
There are 137 bedrooms on site and around 10,500 pilgrims come each year for a residential pilgrimage typically lasting two to three nights. Meals are provided in the Pilgrim Refectory which can seat around 200 residents and produces up to 85,000 meals a year. In addition, the Shrine welcomes a good number of day pilgrims per year.
As well as the pilgrimage programme, which is run at weekends and midweek, each year the Shrine runs a series of special events and retreats. There is an important outreach to young pilgrims which is headed up by the Director of Education. This includes educational visits from schools and a range of events for different ages, the most ambitious of which is the annual Youth Pilgrimage.
Within the beautiful gardens there is a Cafe Bar which is open to pilgrims, tourists and visitors. The Shrine Shop is situated in the heart of the village and offers a wide selection of religious items and gifts.

The Position
The Director, People Team works closely with Executive Director and the European Senior Leadership Team (ESLT) to lead the European People Team. They are also a member of the People Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will have a dual reporting line to the VP, People Team. The Director will define, drive, develop, and implement People team strategies and culture change that align with MCE strategy and global People Team priorities in support of Mercy Corps’ transformative Pathways to Possibility (P2P) strategy. Essential Responsibilities
•Advocates for and represents all areas of Mercy Corps’ People strategy. Actively participate as a strategic leader and member of the Mercy Corps Europe (MCE) senior leadership team and People Team SLT.
•Works with the Executive Director to guide the overall vision and approach of the People Team in MCE, delivering clear actionable plans aligned with needs and the context for MCE, and gain support/ownership for that agenda with key stakeholders.

Living / Environmental Conditions
This position is based in London or Edinburgh or remote home-working location in the UK and will be required to travel to Mercy Corps in Europe’s offices across the UK and the European continent to oversee team members and represent the organization’s European Senior Leadership Team. About you
