We're looking for a Building Surveyor to join our Property Services team. This role is located at our Head Office at Caledonian Road.

Look Ahead Care and Support, own and manage a mixed portfolio of properties across London and the Home Counties. The organisation accommodates customers with a range of support needs including Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Young People, as well as unsupported. Look Ahead operates in 37 local authority areas. It owns and manages around 1,264 homes and a further 1,295 homes on behalf of other landlords. For the year ended 31 March 2023, Look Ahead reported a group turnover of £79.3m and employed 1,170 full-time equivalent staff. Look Ahead aims to deliver 88 properties by March 2028 through a mixture of development and property acquisition.

The role will involve working across the company's existing properties and projects in and around London and the Home Counties. The Building Surveyor will report directly to the Senior Building Surveyor. The role will involve a mix of working from site, homeworking and 1-2 days in the office.

What you'll do:

* Technical condition surveys and reports on properties and their presentation to internal and external colleagues as required
* Designing, specifying and providing cost advice on any required maintenance, refurbishment, adaptation or development works
* Appointing and liaising with external contractors and consultants making sure work carried out is cost controlled and up to standard
* Pre, post and regular inspections and ensuring projects are delivered with quality and value for money
* Inspecting aspects of compliance making sure each project is aligned with company procedures and legislation
* Taking a lead on the Project Management of a variety of improvement/minor/major projects
* Work with external partners as technical lead ensuring the employer's requirements are understood and delivered
* Support Business Development/Operations with survey requests, making sure to clarify the brief before commencing each instruction

This role supports the delivery of METRO’s groups for LGBTQ+ young people, alongside a Lead Youth Worker. The successful applicant will work with the Youth Group Lead to deliver sessions, promote the group and complete administrative tasks associated with the groups. The role sits in METROs vibrant Youth Domain Team, where we are all motivated by creating safer spaces for all LGBTQ+ and questioning young people to thrive.

Programme

METRO youth groups provide safe, social spaces for LGBTQ+ young people to meet and receive support from youth workers and their peers.

The groups provide a structured programme of activities which is co-designed with young people. The programme addresses key areas such as mental health and wellbeing, sexual health, drugs and alcohol awareness, as well as rights for young LGBTQ+ people. The programme supports with employment, study, life skills, and healthy living.

The groups also provide opportunities to connect and participate in cross-group events such as half-term events, Prides, Youth Summits, and other opportunities. To support this staff is required to occasionally change their working pattern to other evenings and weekend work. Employees are offered sessional work as and when there is a need in the domain.

Role

This role will primarily be posted at METRO’s weekly “Snap” LGBTQ+ group in Bromley for 16–24-year-olds. The group is delivered in person. The role will occasionally support cross-group events and outings as per agreement. METRO Youth workers are often offered extra sessional work to provide cover in other locations across south London. Staff travel expenses outside of regular place of work is covered by METRO.

Your role

Working alongside the HR Admin and Payroll team, to be responsible for the effective day to day running of Bank Support Worker payroll processes, effective utilisation of the Bank Support Workers, and use of Bank Support Worker portal to aid in the transfer to a new Bank and Agency system.

To understand general availability of our BSW's to help managers find suitable bank staff for shifts.

Work with Managers to review BSW hours in line with Working Time Directive and Overtime Policy to ensure excessive hours not worked
To complete BSW monthly payroll check and calculate salary top ups.
To work with BSW and payroll team to resolve payroll queries
To complete general administration of BSW references and confirmation of employment letters.
Any other duties as reasonably required within the role.

At St John's College, we're currently looking for a Property Compliance Officer to join the team.

You'll lead on day-to-day responsibilities for property, health and safety and vehicle fleet regulatory and statutory compliance at St John's College and its residential settings.

You'll routinely conduct property inspections and identify any corrective actions required, ensure that these issues are recorded, and remedial actions are followed up. You'll support with the management of the vehicle fleet, carrying out routine vehicle safety inspections, driver checks and maintain related documentation and/or systems.

You'll maintain appropriate records of reported accidents, incidents and/or dangerous occurrences and provide recommendations for improvement where required. You'll produce termly health and safety statistics for SLT, Governor and Trustee reports and other as required. We are looking for someone who has:

• Valid UK/EU driving license which is free from penalty points that relate to disqualifications or other serious road traffic offences.
• Knowledge of building, mechanical, electrical compliance in accordance with relevant health and safety legislation and/or regulations.
• Practical experience of effective risk assessment and management and able to provide professional support and advice.
• Experience of using and maintaining paper and electronic records/systems and effective compliance monitoring.

Invisible Palace is currently looking for a Youth Support Worker to join an established circus project that works with local a primary school and youth partners in the Bromley and Lewisham areas of London.

Your experience does not necessarily need to be in a school or youth work setting, but could be working or volunteering in youth groups, sports coaching, after school clubs or the care sector.

You will need to have availability during late afternoon and early evening and during school holidays, these are the times when activities on the circus programme take place.

Job Description - Freelance Youth Support Worker

• Freelance contract of up to 8 hours per week at £18 per hour for an estimated 44 weeks of the year.
• Available after school, early evening, and school holidays.
• Attend after school club sessions periodically to understand the needs of participants and support participation in the wider circus programme, currently Wednesday evenings 10 weeks per term.
• Attend taster sessions for youth groups to understand the needs of participants and support participation in the wider circus programme, usually afternoon sessions during half term or summer holidays.
• Have a supportive and encouraging attitude, to inspire trust and good communication with young people and families.
• Identify needs of young people and support those needs to minimise barriers to participation in the circus programme.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to young people as they navigate challenges and pursue their goals within the programme.
• Support young people directly with travel to and from sessions at local circus school using bus, taxi, or with volunteer drivers. Usually early evenings.
• Support young people with additional behavioural needs during sessions this may involve attending after school session more frequently.
• Work closely with colleagues from Invisible Palace and partner organisations to support good and clear communication for the benefit of young people taking part in activities.
• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS will be undertaken for successful candidate.

THE ROLE

As the Corporate Fundraiser at Zoe’s Place Liverpool, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission by contributing to the delivery of our overall income generation strategy.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

• To secure, update and manage work experience placements.
• To handle telephone enquiries about the work experience programme, communicating with teachers, employers, parents and schools.
• To be a key point of contact for schools/educational establishments managing and overseeing the work experience process.
• To produce information and provide support to the Head of Work Experience and other team members.
• Completing one-to-one interviews with students with additional needs to ensure suitable placements are secured.
• Managing placements using a bespoke IT system.
