Role Overview:
The Talent Set is thrilled to be working with a fantastic membership organisation as they search for an experienced and proactive Senior Press Officer to join their media team. This is an initial 6-8 month fixed-term contract, with the potential for a permanent position.
This role will be pivotal in managing media relations, enhancing the organisation’s reputation, and supporting key policy initiatives. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a base in Oxfordshire and occasional travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage both proactive and reactive media relations to ensure effective press office processes, monitoring, and reporting.
- Draft and distribute high-quality press releases, media statements, and editorial content to secure impactful coverage.
- Develop and implement media plans that support organisational campaigns and strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media contacts, and key external stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice and media briefings to internal spokespeople, ensuring consistent and strategic messaging.

Person Specification
- 3–5 years of proven experience in media relations, PR, or press office functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling press materials.
- Strong media contacts and the ability to secure coverage across a variety of platforms.
- Experience working in a fast-paced press office, managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in digital media platforms and social media engagement.

What’s on Offer:

As part of Midland Air Ambulance Charity’s (MAAC) corporate team, the Corporate Partnership Executive is responsible for taking a proactive approach to raising the profile of the charity and deepening relationships with businesses in the communities we serve.
You will provide support to the Senior Partnership Executive and the wider team helping to implement the corporate fundraising strategy via in person and online engagement methods, leading on activity within Staffordshire.
Your focus will be to ensure income growth from corporate sources and activity comprising of new business development, account management and affinity partnerships. There is no typical week as a Business Development Manager and the role requires a proactive approach. The post holder will identify and deliver profitable business development activity for the following areas: (i) sales related to MAAC training provider - securing group/individual bookings for our training and education courses; (ii) the sale of room hire at our Airbase and Charity Headquarters and (iii) support with other ad hoc income generation projects. .
Working in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer, Group Events Lead, and Head of Education and Training, the Business Development Manager will develop and execute a plan to promote and grow these revenue streams, building strong relationships with businesses, community groups, and educational institutions.

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Lead is responsible for overseeing income generation from corporate partners and growing high-value support from major donors to fund the vital work of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
This newly created role will develop and implement strategies and plans across two areas:
- Oversee a team focused on building and maintaining corporate partnerships with businesses across our six-county operating region, covering Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, and Worcestershire.
- Engage major donors and secure transformative gifts both on an individual basis as well as part of a bespoke programme.
The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Lead will be responsible for ensuring effective prospecting and exceptional supporter stewardship, maximising income generation in the short, medium and long term.
The role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced high-value fundraiser to work in close collaboration with our CEO and senior leadership team, and Chair and wider board of Trustees, to develop these two key income streams.

About Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART)
Founded in 2012, the Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART) is a charity dedicated to restoring and protecting the rivers of the Bristol Avon. Guided by an evidence-based, ecosystem-wide approach, we focus on the health of the entire catchment, not just the rivers themselves.
BART began as a grassroots effort driven by a shared passion for waterways. Today, with approximately 20 employees and an annual turnover of £1 million, we manage multi-year projects funded by diverse supporters to preserve and enhance the Bristol Avon catchment.
We work with landowners, communities, businesses, farmers, water companies, councils and government agencies to protect and rejuvenate rivers, lakes, and estuaries, delivering benefits for wildlife, local economies, and people. Our efforts help reduce costs for farmers and water companies and enhance public health while addressing the climate and ecological crises.
The post holder will join a growing, ambitious team delivering multi-benefit projects to protect and improve the Bristol Avon catchment, and the Trust Administrator will play a key role in supporting the smooth delivery of the Trust’s operations.
Job summary and purpose
The Trust Administrator is responsible for maintaining the core administrative functions of the Trust to ensure the smooth operation of the charity, enabling its mission to ensure healthy rivers for wildlife and people.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Trust Administrator will work with a range of internal and external contacts to ensure routine business functions, human and physical resources, supporter and governance liaison are working well. The role will involve working closely with the Chief Executive, but also with other members of the team, Trustees, supporters and suppliers.
The role will require exceptional organisational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, an attention to detail, and working flexibly in an agile environment. Experience of organisational administration in the public, private or charity sector, and experience of HR, meetings administration and IT are essential while purchasing and negotiating with suppliers is desirable. A helpful and positive attitude is needed, as is a willingness to embrace flexible ways of working. Adherence to certain policies and procedures is essential, including requirements such as data confidentiality and upholding a culture of professionalism.
Whilst the role is predominantly aimed at internal support, including for Trustees and supporters, external liaison will be required with suppliers, funders, partners, and the public.
Duties and responsibilities
A. Organisational administration
1Take ownership of core business administrative functions including the office space, monitoring and maintaining resources, monitoring inboxes.
2Liaison and negotiation with, and purchasing from, suppliers and providers spanning IT, resources, insurance etc.
3Assist in the upholding of key policies and procedures e.g. security and safety checks.
4 Coordinate routine governance procedures including organising and minuting meetings, filing returns, and communicating with Trustees.
5Coordinate routine HR procedures including recruitment and managing confidential records, including those of staff, supporters and volunteers.

Mileage expenses will be paid at 45p per mile as set out in HMRC’s Approved Mileage Allowance Payment. Some evening and weekend work may be required. We will also require the successful applicant to undergo a DBS check and provide satisfactory references.
