Strategy
- To collect and maintain information and evidence that contributes to the strategic planning of the charity.

- High level experience and knowledge of key humanitarian and development donors such as: ECHO, BHA/USAID, GFFO, FCDO and European government donors.
- Knowledge and experience of working with consortium-based funding.
- Proven strategic design and management skills including good programme development ability and proven knowledge of M&E at project and programme levels.

The Forces Employment Charity are looking for a highly motivated Employment Support Consultant to promote and provide employability and employment support for veterans within the region.
Reporting to National Veteran Support Programme Manager. the successful applicant will have a track record of providing employment and job finding support. A strong customer focus and an ability to work independently to achieve targets and deadlines is an essential requirement along with strong communication and organising skills, knowledge of the local employment market, training, and adult education opportunities.
This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week with a salary of £28,325 depending on experience. The role is Home based with local and regional travel.Veteran Support Consultants will spend an average of 30% of their time networking within their region.
Job Role: To promote the Forces Employment Charity and Veteran Support Programme across the UK and provide employability and employment support for veterans in order that they find appropriate sustainable employment, or other Preferred Vocational Outcome.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and guidance to support veterans into employment.
- Develop links with local and regional businesses and business forums to develop relationships with Corporate Mentors and to provide enhanced local level employment opportunities, working collaboratively with Employer Relationship Managers (ERMs).
- Facilitate veterans to access suitable training courses.
- Post and maintain an exemplar professional LinkedIn profile and engage with appropriate content from FEC and partner organisations.
- Link with local and regional Ex-Armed Forces support agencies initiatives to create a flow of veterans requiring employment support. This will include as a minimum creating working relationships with Armed Forces Charities and DWP and regional Armed Forces Champions (including Armed Forces Covenant groups).
- Contribute to FEC’s online community engaging veterans with the self-help tools and Corporate Mentors.
- Attend all CTP Employment Fairs in your region as an exhibitor. Publicise the role of FEC in supporting veteran employment.
- Co-ordinate with partner charities and refer clients to that support as identified by their needs assessment.
- Manage client caseload on Salesforce in accordance with work instructions.
- Represent the values and professional expertise of FEC to all external audiences.
- The 30% networking time will involve attending partner meetings, employment events and collaboration with other charities/agencies that specialise in support to veterans. The time spent doing this will be captured on our CRM and will be measurable.
- Undertake other actions as required by the Programme Manager.

Essential Competencies:

Since 2003, we have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.
Our accredited programmes are unique and attractive to young people who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. Taking them from beginner to qualified snowsports instructors in just one year with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at the end. Alongside learning to ski or snowboard, young people also have access to wellbeing support with the emphasis on improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in London, with programmes running from The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempsted. So, if you love working with young people and have solid experience delivering youth programmes, combined with a passion for snowsports – and if you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role working with a committed team of staff at Snow Camp and some amazing young people – this job could be the job for you!
Experience of working successfully with underserved young people in a range of settings will be essential to the post. Furthermore, experience within a snowsports field and passion for supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!

About the role
The Media Manager will be responsible for taking charge of the ITF’s global media strategy. We are looking for an experienced media relations professional who can further enhance and solidify ITF’s reputation as the global voice of transport workers and as an authoritative voice in the transport industry and global trade union movement.
We’re seeking an experienced media relations manager, preferably with international experience and with established media relationships amongst leading international media.
You will be part of team responsible for delivering solidarity and support to local, national and global disputes, building communications that reinforce the critical role transport workers play, developing strategies to support union-led policies on everything from health and safety to sustainability, and raising the volume on the global struggle to advance the rights and equalities of the world’s transport workers.
Your role will be pivotal for securing media coverage that raises awareness of the work and priorities of the ITF internationally across broadcast, print, online media, and trade press.
This hands-on role, will lead on developing, implementing and advancing ITF’s global media relations strategy. The Media Manager will also provide strategic advice and coaching to ITF’s leadership on proactive and reactive media strategies, as well as strategic guidance and support for other members of the ITF’s multi-disciplinary communications team.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reports to: Head of Support and Care (Registered Manager)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, usually Monday - Friday 9 - 5pm
NB Service Coordinators are required to balance management administration with being present in the group's houses. This necessitates some occasional evening and weekend work to be agreed with their line manager.

Place of work: L’Arche London community houses and office (all within a walking distance, based in West Norwood, London)
Main purpose of the role:
- To lead and manage the Oak Group, one of three groups in the L'Arche London community, comprising of a range of services for people with learning disabilities and its team of assistants.
- To lead the service delivery within this group in line with L'Arche values, standards and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC].
- To play an active role in the leadership of L'Arche London, helping shape a vibrant community of people with and without learning disabilities.
Leadership and People Management:
- Supervise and work with the Deputy Service Coordinator to lead a team of 15 Support Assistants. Ensure each assistant in the group is regularly supervised, trained, and appraised, and that action is taken to effectively manage performance issues.
- Understand the requirements of the CQC and other relevant legislation and ensure that all applicable standards are met including adult safeguarding.
- As part of the Community Coordinating Team, implement appropriate policies and procedures, promoting the wider L'Arche mission, vision and values.
- Be on the On-Call rota every 6 - 8 weeks, with flexibility as service requires. (Additional pay provided.)
- Contribute to the recruitment/ interviewing of Assistants.
Provision of Support to People with Learning Disabilities
- Ensure the provision of high quality personalised support for each person with a learning disability in the Oak group, implementing Person Centred Support Plans to maximise independence, personal choice, and autonomy.
- Enable each person with learning disabilities to feel at home, encouraging both individuality and belonging, ensuring that everyone is informed of their rights and responsibilities as a member of the Community group and as a tenant.
- Support each person to manage various aspects of their life, from their personal budgets to their health and well-being.
- On occasion, provide one-to-one support to people with learning disabilities at home or in the community.
Administration and Management
- Maintain high standards of communication and record keeping, ensuring an effective flow of information within the Group, with the rest of L'Arche London, the local community, family and professionals.

Creating Community
- Attend and organise Community events and celebrations relevant to the role and foster a sense of welcome for all visitors and friends; ensure a regular rhythm of prayer and reflection in accordance with the traditions of L’Arche.

What We Offer
- This post is offered subject to a probationary period of 6 months; 3 clear references; a completed work history form; a satisfactory and up-to-date enhanced DBS check; and a satisfactory right to work check as appointees must have the right to work in the UK.
- There is no additional pay for overtime, but Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given and agreed with the line manager when circumstances require the post-holder to work extra hours. TOIL should be taken within 2 weeks of being accrued.
- All Service Coordinators are the on-call rota for 1 week every 6 - 8 weeks. There is an additional payment of £56 a week for being on-call.
- Paid holiday allowance of 33 days leave per year. (This total is inclusive of 8 days in lieu of bank holidays).
- Service Coordinators will be provided with a programme of personal development and training including opportunities to study for QCF qualifications in social care and leadership development through L'Arche in the UK's leadership development programme.
