The Jack Kane Community Centre is looking to recruit an experienced and innovative YouthDevelopment Worker to lead on our new Unmasking Masculinity Project, funded through the National Lottery: Young Start.

Unmasking Masculinity is a 3 year project that will work alongside young men (11-21yrs of age), as equal partners, on the theme of positive masculinity. Through a youth-led and co-production approach, the successful applicant will work alongside young people to provide a peer prevention/education and early intervention approach to youth violence and gender stereotypes.

The Jack Kane Community Centre, is situated in the Greater Craigmillar area of North East Edinburgh. We believe that children, young people and adults are powerful agents of change and we work alongside them to ensure that they are provided with opportunities to thrive and develop their skills and talents to fulfil their potential. To achieve this, we provide a range of youth and children activities and services.

Hours: 21hrs per week (fixed term for 3yrs)

Salary: £17,712.24

Closing Date: 12th September.

Location: On Site – Edinburgh
