Job description

YourGateway2Success is seeking two committed volunteers for the role of Charity Worker to support the delivery of 'The Plug: Skills, Support, Success'. A 12-month personal development programme for young people aged 16–25 in Croydon. This role offers meaningful experience in youth support, mentoring, and facilitation.

Key Responsibilities

·        Help run group workshops on confidence, communication, and life skills

·        Provide one-to-one encouragement and support during sessions

·        Support group discussions by listening and encouraging others

·        Welcome new participants and help them feel included

·        Promote respectful behaviour and maintain a safe, friendly environment

·        Assist with games, group activities, and peer learning tasks

Skills and Experience Required

·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·        Confidence working with young people in group and 1:1 settings

·        Ability to work supportively across diverse backgrounds

·        Experience or aptitude in informal learning or youth engagement

·        Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, and personal boundaries

Location: 30 Union Road, Croydon, CR0 2XU (On-site)

Commitment: 15–25 hours per week (flexible)

Duration: ThePlug Project Starts 30 July 2025 Ends 30 July 2026

Salary: Voluntary (unpaid); accommodation and subsistence support provided
