Who They Are
TACO! (Thamesmead Arts and Culture Office) is an artist-led organisation and registered charity based in Thamesmead, South East London. It supports research, production, and exchange within the arts. TACO! is committed to nurturing artists and artistic practices as viable, valued, and vital components of creative communities, a progressive civic society, and the pursuit of shared equitable futures. Founded as an ongoing, embedded, and socially engaged artistic enquiry, TACO! investigates what art can be and what it can do.
The Role
The Board of Trustees at TACO! holds responsibility for the organisation’s overall governance and strategic direction. Trustees play a crucial role in ensuring TACO!’s long-term artistic, social, and financial sustainability.
TACO! is currently seeking individuals who are eager to make a meaningful contribution by volunteering their skills, experience, ideas, and passion to the organisation’s development and future direction.

Are passionate and committed to contemporary art, artistic practices, artists, and the broader visual arts ecology.

Can offer diverse representation, lived experiences, and professional perspectives to enrich the organisation and its board.

Possess knowledge and experience of working strategically with children and young people in cultural, educational, or social settings.

Have expertise in driving social change, strengthening civil society, and supporting community organising efforts.

Bring experience in public communications, PR, marketing, or strategic positioning within the arts and culture sectors.
